What to get

Afternoon all. Have a feeling I’ve asked a similar question before struggling with way forward on this one.I have a Panasonic GZ2000 TV in a small/medium size viewing room. It has built in Dolby Atmos speakers (think 11 small units from memory) but does not really delivery on it’s promise sound wise.This is linked to a Sonos Amp and two B&W CCM682 in ceiling speakers. There is a budget wireless sub woofer as well which does OKish. I’ve been thinking to add an Arc, a pair of Ones and a Sonos SW. I previously installed positions for RJ45 & power for the Sonos One’s and the TV has power & Rj45 at the rear to run the Arc off. Same with the SW position.But …. the Sonos Amp feeds the two in-ceiling B&W’s and they are logically in the wrong place. They are in line with the TV rather than left & right of it. Why? Originally the room was supposed to be just for listening. Then at the 11th hour (after speakers were installed) the plan changed to be a viewing room. I’ve attach

Hi all,I am considering the following setup:Sonos Arc as the “CENTER” speaker. Sonos Amp to drive my passive HECO L/R speakers.I would hardwire the Arc to the TV via HDMI/ARC and add the Amp as L/R. Will this work? There is no need for surrounds!Thanks!   

Hello,We are hosting a destination wedding and need to bring a portable speaker set up for the after party. What I am trying to figure out is if 2 Roams connected vs. 1 Move - which is more powerful? I feel like 2 Roams would give me more flexibility, but if they wouldn’t be loud enough (even combined) - I would like to know. Given that Sonos doesnt provide any sort of sound statistics for their devices, I am trying to determine how I compare these options to buy the right set up. Thanks in advance!

I’m looking for the best way to make a TV that is outside and connected to Wi-Fi a source within the Sonos ecosystem. I could connect a beam to the TV, but I am afraid of the outdoor humidity. Thoughts?

Hi,Appologies in advanced if this has been asked before.I have a old Panasonic 50” Plasma TH-50U30A which I am pretty certain does not do Dolby Passthrough from its Optical or HDMI ports.I have a spare Beam or Playbar (together with a Sub and two ones) which I can connect to this TV but in either case will only get Stereo PCM :-(Is anyone able to suggest a good splitter which I could use to connect:Apple TV → Splitter → Beam ARC Port (For Audio) and TV ARC or HDMI Port (For Audio) or Apple TV → Splitter → PlayBar Optical Port (For Audio) and TV ARC or HDMI Port (For Video)  Preference would be for the latter (Playbar)

Hello Sonos Community!I am considering setting my home up with Sonos, and I was hoping to get some specific answers/advice.I have 2xSonos One (G2) speakers in my kids’ rooms. I found that in order to use Alexa and Spotify independently (and not have the need to have ipads/phones in their rooms), I needed to setup 2 separate sonos systems entirely. This includes separate sonos, spotify,  and Alexa accounts. It works well, but was confusing to figure out how to set it up. My assumption is that I’ll be setting up a third Sonos system (call it ‘Home’) to control the remainder of my speakers and setup.   I have a Marantz receiver and wired 5.1 surround sound speakers hooked up already in my living room. I don’t think I’m interested in completely swapping this setup for Sonos speakers, but it’d be neat if I could incorporate the Sonos setup to leverage it.   I would like to put some outdoor / all-weather speakers outside on my rear patio.   I would like to add some speakers to my kitchen and

I am thinking about purchasing the Sonia roam. Is it possible to connect it with my TV / sound bar to take it into my garden and listen to the TV out there?

Good Morning everyone,I have 2 Sonos Play:1 speakers with which I listen music via the Sonos S2 App, wirelessly, on my phoneI wish I could listen to my cds from the portable cd player and I saw online that I need a Sonos Conect Amp.I've seen some Sonos amp connect devices on ebay, Sonos ZonePlayer ZP100 Digital Music System Multi Room, I wanna buy of second hand.Before buying it, I would like to know if it is the correct device to listen to the compact discs from the Sonos Play audio speakers: 1 or I need another device.Any kind of suggestion is appreciatedBest

Hello everyone, I’m building a home system that would integrate my TV and turntable, as well allow for streaming. I’d also like it to work over WiFi and be expandable (i.e. with a future multiroom setup), so I’m looking at the Sonos Amp. The idea is to run hook up both my TV and turntable, to just 1 amp (using the available line-in and HDMI ports) and my existing pair of bookshelf speakers, but I can’t seem to find anywhere how it does input switching. Can it detect when I’m playing a record or turning on my TV? Or do I set it up for 1 thing only and then have to go through endless menus every time you want to change my audio source?Also, can I then add wireless Sonos speakers to this setup without adding more Sonos Amps?Thanks for any advice on this!

I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly which Sonos AMP I need to buy.I have 2 outdoor speakers on the pool deck and want to stream spotify music to them using the sonos app on my iphone.I ordered a Sonos Connect S2 Modern device off ebay and it didn’t work.Other than the new $700 AMP, is there a previous version that could do this?I’m new to Sonos and can’t figure out Connect vs Connect:AMP vs Media Streamers vs New AMP.

I just purchased a Move for my outdoor living area and noticed it required S2 Controller. My Home theatre system currently has a SUB (Gen2), Playbar, and 2 x Sonos One SL. I am using an Bridge and i have a old Connect that I am not using in my new home.  Sonos is offering me trade in credits on the Bridge, Connect and the Playbar (even though the Playbar will still be supported on the S2)2 questions. First, Bridge to Boost upgrade? Yes or no?  I have read the articles about connecting directly to my WiFi versus using the Bridge and creating a Sono separate network.Second, They had recommended that i upgrade the Playbar and are offering the credit, if i upgrade what would be the upgrade?  they have 3 sound bars (Ray - Beam and Arc) my thinking is the Arc would be my upgrade for a home theatre system i have using the Sub and the 2 One SL’s?

I am using Roon with my main Hi Fi system and was thinking of buying a Play 5 for the dining room and wondered if it is possible to stream to the Play 5 from Roon ?

Hey guys truly supernew to this forum. But i throw out a question. I’m building and extension and want to have nice sound in the rooms. Thinking ceiling speakers in the rooms and a woffer and a bar in the livingroom to make the movies come to life. Using the ceiling ones as back speakers. Any toughts?  Thanks! 

Hi! We are building a custom home and need help choosing between the following setup options. Our plans and drawing of the fireplace/TV are at the bottom of my comments.Arch + two in-wall speakers in the rear with an amp.  5.1 setup with architectural speakers. Center speaker would have to be above the fireplace and below the TV. 2 in wall speakers (right+left with no center) around the fireplace wall with two in-wall speakers in the back wall.Notes/questions:-The two rear speakers in the back wall will be located above the cased opening to the kitchen.-Our fireplace wall is streamlined so I worry the Arc would be a little bit of an eye sore.-Our great room has 14 foot ceilings. Is this too high for Arc?-Would we receive the same audio quality with options 1 and 2?-Would it be too much (too many speakers) if we added two in ceiling speakers in the kitchen? Or do you think the system in the great room would suffice?Thanks in advance for your input!Amanda 

We recently purchased a new home with ceiling speakers already installed. In order to get them working do we need do purchase and amp?  

We have a job that requires 4 in-ceiling Sonance AS38RS Speakers. Another zone would have 2 Sonance AS38RS Speakers.I just want to know will a Sonos Amp be able to handle 2 or 4 of these speakers or should we use a passive amp and Sonos port?AS38RS Impediance is 10 ohms nominal; 8 ohms minimum (100W max) each

 I am in the process in getting a new TV (Samsung Frame) which will be mounted over a fireplace. I previously had a setup using a Sonos Sound Bar , Sub and two Ones. Mounting a Sound Bar (even the Arc) is not going to be feasible above the fireplace. What option do I have for TV sound without using a Sound Bar?  (e.g. just using the two Ones perhaps)? Thank youAnthony O.

Please bear with me, as I’m not an audiophile! We have a first generation Bridge and Connect, which we had connected to a stereo receiver to play on wired speakers in our house as well as outside.Our stereo receiver died, and hubby wants to replace it, but I’m wondering if we’re better off just changing up our whole system (and taking advantage of the upgrade program). I realize it’s 2022 and wires are no longer needed, lol!Without wanting to pay a fortune, I’m wondering what our best options are. Just get a Roam or Move for when we’re outside and a One for inside, and get rid of all the wired speakers in our house? Or what about the Amp — is that something that can just be hooked up to the existing wired speakers? (Though yes, I realize it’s on back order…). I’m assuming that an actual receiver is no longer needed, as everything we’d be listening to is streamable…Thanks for any help you can provide to an old dinosaur!

Hi everyone, I am finding myself a bit confused with all of the audio options that come along with the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable and am hoping to find some input.I own several Sonos products such as the Beam, a set of the Play:1 speakers and the sub.My questions are:Is it necessary to purchase another speaker like the Five or can I use something to push the sound out to one of my existing speakers? If I do need to purchase a Five speaker, is it possible to group it together with my current setup and play the music through my existing speakers?Appreciate any feedback and insight! This is also my first time venturing into the turntable space. ☺️

We have a new built house with an open space kitchen/living. We listen to a lot of music all the time. I have provisioned two play 5 at the corners marked with red (power and ethernet connection at 2.5m height). Will it be enough? Any other suggestions?

Hi allHoping for a bit of advice.  Looking to switch to a soundbar from my current poor performing Sony.I am looking at the beam and wondering whether the refurbished gen 1 (£270) will do the job, or if its worth paying the extra £100 for the gen 2?Tv is a 55" LG OLED C1.  I will be using two play:1s as surrounds.  Will be mainly watching freeview or IPTV, with a bit of netflix/prime thrown in.  Does anyone have a similar setup and would they recommend?Been doing a bit of research and it appears that Dolby Atmos doesn't add a lot, so wondering whether it's worth paying the extra for the gen 2?Thanks for your timeSteven
