Which Sonos Amp Should I Use?

I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly which Sonos AMP I need to buy.

I have 2 outdoor speakers on the pool deck and want to stream spotify music to them using the sonos app on my iphone.

I ordered a Sonos Connect S2 Modern device off ebay and it didn’t work.

Other than the new $700 AMP, is there a previous version that could do this?

I’m new to Sonos and can’t figure out Connect vs Connect:AMP vs Media Streamers vs New AMP.

The previous model to the current Sonos Amp was the CONNECT:AMP. A regular CONNECT would require you to be sending the signal from it to an amplifier of some type, which would then power those outdoor speakers.

Note that the Sonos Amp has more power than the older CONNECT:AMP.

The old Connect:amp and the newer Amp have an internal amplifier, so can drive speakers. The old Connect and the newer Port are not amplifiied and so need an amplifier to drive speakers.

Since you already have the Connect you might want to look for a simple amplifier to connect it and your speakers to.
