What to get

Does anyone have thoughts about which of these combinations to choose? For music/audio, not TV.Price is roughly the same, within £50.

Newb here & couldn’t find the answer to my question: If I have an Amp & use wired speakers for L/R fronts, would I also be able to connect 2 One SL’s (wrong model in title) to use as L/R rear surrounds? I would use the 2 wired fronts for my turntable & then all 4 for TV.Can I do that with a single Amp?Thanks!

Hey all,We have just finished our retirement home build and I am looking to install a Sonos system.The builder pre-wired 2 Ceiling speakers and 2 exterior speakers on our lanai all the speaker wires run to a utility closet in our front hallway.I am determining everything I need to buy and wanted to get some advice on that.For the exterior, there will be a TV there eventually, but I initial thought is that I just want to play music through those speakers - so I am thinking I just need an amp and the 2 Sonance exterior speakers.  Is that right and does that limit me in any way if I want to add the exterior TV to the sound in the future?For the interior, I assume a need an additional amp, a sound bar, two passive ceiling speakers and a subwoofer to get surround sound.  Am I missing anything there?For reference, the utility closet is within 50 feet of both the interior and exterior TVs and speakers and all TV locations have ethernet cables pulled to the closet. Thanks in advance for any an

HelloI have beam gen2 plus sub gen3 and would really like to add my turntable to the set up. I’m going round in circles (pun intended) trying to decide between an amp, a port or a 5 with a line in. I’ve tried cabling it up to my tv with the RCA but it won’t play through the HDMI arc, it will play via its own input but I don’t want the tv on whilst playing.A second hand 5 is probably most cost effective but would that work with what I already have?  Also tried combining the HDMI into 1 input into the beam but it didn’t like it.  Many thanks in advance. steve

I am considering purchasing the Ultimate Immersive set w/Arc but before I pull the trigger, want to see if I can use my existing speakers. If so, what do I need to accomplish this?  Would one Sonos Amp connect to all?Fronts= Polk audio RTI70 floor standing speakersCenter= Klipsch RC-52 IIPowered Sub= Klipsch R-12SW If possible, I also have a pair of Definitive AW-6500’s outside that are currently not connected to anything that I would like to connect. Would the Gen2 Sonos connect amp be suitable for these? A Yamaha RX-V675 receive is currently powering them. I don’t care if I lose the receiver as I intend on Sonos (whatever I get)replacing its functionality for occasional FM Music and Movie watching. Thanks for any insight into my question. Victor

Dear all,Hi, I’m a new Sono user.I would like to ask here some questions and search for suggestions, so let’s start:AFAIK TruePlay is configurable only with iPhone. What if I have only Android? Isn’t there another way? Which speakers are compatible with my Sonos Beam Gen 2 to expand my Home Theater System? Are there compatible speakers that are wireless and rechargable? My goal is to use them only when needed, so when I play a movie and then place them somewhere when not used. In case I add two speakers, are then they added as back-left and back-right speaker? I mean on a Dolby audio movie I’ll able to listen the ambient sound coming from behind with the back audio channels? Last but not least, what would you give priority to expand my setup. Starting from a little subwoofer or starting from the rear satellite speakers?Thanks a lot to all!Simon

Have picked out the Ultimate which includes the ARC, Subwofer, and 2 ERA 300s. I have 3 questions:Do I Need, Should I get, 2 additional ERA 300s for the front of the room or will the ARC suffice? Is that overkill? Because of 11 or 12 foot ceiling should I get adjustable stands versus fixed for the two rear ERA 300s? I just purchased a Yamaha RX-A4A how will the Sonos system connect up to it?

I am setting up an outdoor speaker system. Already have a Move and One. Can I connect these speakers to a non-Sonos amp, which will also connect my outdoor wired speakers? 

I moved into a new house and would like to get speakers for my TV in the family room, but because of how the TV is mounted on a stone fireplace hearth, it would be impossible to mount or place a sound bar anywhere. So if I were not going to use a sound bar, I’m wondering what combination of Sonos products would I need for home theater audio.Ideally I’d want to add surround speakers eventually, and I’d also like to be able to stream music from the same speakers (hence why I’m hoping I can find a Sonos setup that works). Any advice?

 We recently bought a new house. At the moment I do not yet own any sonos products. At the moment we mainly use a set of KEF x300A that is in my office that is adjacent to my current living room. We would like a multi-room system in our new house. I have attached an image of the floor plan of the new house. The kitchen and living room on the right have an open connection. I would like to provide the three rooms that I have circled with a system first.Can someone advise us? 

I’m redoing our TV room (15’ x 16’) and trying to figure out what might be the best combo. I’m trying to balance value and quality here. Would the Beam and Sub Mini be enough for movies and general music? I’m new to this, so forgive my ignorance. We have several Sonos speakers around the house, but this will be our first TV sound system purchase. (Currently have a mediocre Sony soundbar and sub). Thx!

I thought I was done purchasing more Sonos speakers. But I know have  42” smart tv that showed up inside my garage where I have a paired Sonos Play1 for listening to music when I’m hanging out in my garage. I’ll bring in my Move to play along with my Play1’s. The tv was my sons old tv as he upgraded to a 48” OLED. I’m using a Fire stick to watch on the new/old tv. Sound is terrible so I thought about a sound bar to enhance the sound a bit. I thought about my old Vizio sound bar, but if I were to buy the cheaper Ray I could also play it with my Play1’s and Move when I’m watch TV in the garage. Any thoughts? Is this a waste of time and money as the tv is only in the garage? How does the Ray sound? How would it sound in the garage? 

Hey folksfirst time poster here, so, sorry if there is already a discussion on this topic somewhere, I’ve looked around but couldn’t find one. If there is, please direct me <3 Current system: I’ve had a Port and 2x Play:1s for a while now. It is an amazing sound that fills the room and isn’t overly directional. I use it for:Music over Sonos Radio or Spotify, duh. Have a ProJect T1 turntable and Dual amp connected to the Port. Use them as Apple TV speakers via AirPlay to the Port. The choice:So, I’ve been thinking about getting a Beam 2. Visually it looks much better than the Arc as it is smaller and I don’t own a TV. But I’d also be open to an Arc if it makes more sense.First, I kinda expect points 1&2 to “just work”™ I expect to group the 3 speakers up with the Port, because those use cases are first-class citizens in the Sonos ecosystem.My concern was with number 3 - if it actually makes sense getting a Beam (or Arc) due to the fact that AirPlay probably limits the playback qu

Hi - I’m looking to upgrade my old Zoneplayers and would like to run a turntable and possibly a CD player too.Thinking about 2 x Era 300 running in stereo with the turntable connected to one and CD player the other. Would this work, and any other thoughts on the setup? I have a lounge of 350 sq ft (32 sq meter).  I have a TV with beam Gen 2 and sub mini.  Very happy with TV/movie sound performance.  I have also bought a Sonos Port and line-in switch to allow me to connect my turntable, CD player and cassette (yes cassette) player to the Beam for music. Obviously these are stereo not spatial audio inputs.The music sound is pretty good through the Beam and sub mini.  It has replaced a 5.1 100 watt per channel home theatre amp with 5 Kef egg speakers and sub.  I want good quality and sufficient volume for parties.  Thinking about options to add 2 Era 100 or 300 or maybe even 2 Fives. If I set them up as stereo speakers for music would they be more powerful than the Beam or could I use them in parallel with Beam?Appreciate these could also act as surrounds to the Beam but that’s not my priority.Can anyone suggest the best option?   

Hi all, first I’m so glad I found this forum, it’s helped me learn some basics. I’m buying a new house and plan to design out a Ubiquiti Unifi network - so I’m prepared/ready to run ethernet to the ceiling or wall of many rooms just for access points already.  With that, I am not sure if Sonos makes the most sense or something else (and what else, I have no idea!).  However, I believe my wifi network would be capable of handling the Sonos load - though if I’m already running ethernet I may prefer to hardwire sonos speakers anyway…  (by the way I assume there are no POE sonos speakers?) I require at least “good” quality with good bass, I don’t need the most insane speaker quality ever, and don’t really care about high fidelity or lossless playback although I’d take it (I understand sonos doesn’t accommodate, that’s fine).  Most of all ease of use for my wife is important =). We are spotify users 99% of the time, and home theater. With that said, I expect speakers in these locations:Kitc

Not sure how unusual a use case this is, but we have  two sonos arc, one in our media room with the projector and one in the main living room under the TV, next to the garden. We use them separately for watching movies locally to the room.When we are watching movies on the TV we want dolby atmos sound output only from the arc mounted under the TV.  When we want to entertain guests at a party, we instead want to use the arc for playing our Spotify playlists, while also having it somehow paired with outdoor speakers that play the same music outdoors in sync with the arc indoors.What product would make sense to do this, and, can the sonos accommodate this somewhat quirky use case? We would prefer to not buy an amp and passive speakers, but rather plug one or two wireless sonos speakers of some kind into the power outlet outdoors that already exist under the patio cover, and keep them permanently there.  Rain and sun would not reach them.We only want it to play whatever the arc plays when

Hi Guys, could you share with me your opinions please. :)I am new to Sonos system and never own any Sonos product before.With the main aim of watching Atmos movies, I have recently tested two similar setups in the shop, with only difference being soundbar itself. Arc+ Sub Mini + 2xEra300 as surround. Beam Gen 2 + Sub Mini + 2xEra300 as surround. I found Atmos movie was most amazing to me when two Era300s are involved, it's really spacious. However, I have also noticed that 2xEra300 would somehow "in a good way outshine but not overwhelm" the soundbar completely, both Arc and Beam Gen2, during my testing session.I understand that a typical HT system is kind of a front focused setup, with a-much-more-powerful soundbar in front of you, and "two-relatively-weaker/smaller" surround speaker at the back, eg Samsung Q990, Bose 900 and JBL bar etc. But Era300s as surround seems completely overthrown this principle, making Front/RL/RR equally weighted. I am about to replace a Bose Home Speaker 500 with Sonos. And here begin all my doubts...I live in a studio of 30 square meters and I use the speaker to listen to music mainly. I give importance to bass, although I don't have the budget for a Sub Mini yet.With a budget of around 500/600 Euros, I have the doubt of whether to start buying a Sonos Era 300 or two Sonos Era 100. For comfort and space at home, a single Sonos Era 300 is better for me today, but I want to invest in a Sonos system that is worth expanding in the future.I'm not the first person to ask about this, but I'm not clear on the answers. Maybe it's better to buy a single Era 300 and invest in a few years in a [second Era 300] instead of buying [two Era 100s today + Beam (2nd Gen) in the future]?Thank you!

I’m using an ARC and 2 Era 300 in my 15’x16’ bedroom.  I like watching TV to fall asleep to, so usually the volume is pretty low, although there are times that I watch at normal volume.  I’ve kinda noticed at low volume, the sound from the ARC has lost it’s fullness since adding the 2 Era300s.  Do I need to add a sub to regain the some fullness from the ARC?  If so, will the Mini be sufficient?
