What to get

Hello. Perhaps forthcoming Sonos user here that is tinkering with the idea of replacing my Yamaha ecosystem with Sonos. But, before I hit the buy button, I’d like to get some insights.I’m considering to buy a Sonos Arc + Sonos Sub (gen3) + two Sonos Era 100 (placed behind sofa for TV-watching) to get a decent surround sound when watching movies and whatnot.But – can I expect that setup to perform well (or even awesome?) when I decide to listen just to music? Is there a simple way to switch to stereo listening (which I assume the app can help me with), and can I expect the audio to be … well … ‘pristine’?Me and my wife talked the other day about replacing our sound system, and also getting a vinyl player to be able to listen to our old records, just like we did in the 80:s/90:s, and I guess that’s possible as well. But the important question is regarding what I can expect of music listening in this sonos-setup, especially compared to what I’d get with a dedicated music-listening-setup.T

Hi,I have a sonos system made up of ARC + sub (gen3) I use to watch TV. It works well I don’t need to set up a 5.1 system. What I need is spreading the music better  in my room (40m2) when I use the system to listen music. How I can get this target?… adding 2 one SL and putting them in asymmetrical way in 2 opposites corner could be helpful? or in alternative adding 1 ERA 100 could be sufficient? or other options?Thanks for your kind advices!!

Hello, I am trying to establish a limited setup on a deck which is located outside of a living room. The deck has a new smart TV (TCL) which is entirely wireless. The deck has 4 in-ceiling wired speakers and two under-deck speakers facing the pool. All of the speaker wires go to an AV cabinet in the adjacent living room. What I want is to be able to watch TV and project the sound through all of the wired speakers and/or to have the TV silent or off and have music playing. How would I accomplish this with my current setup?If I hook a beam up to the TV and put an amp inside connected to the speakers, would that accomplish my goal? Would I need another amp to establish two zones (in-ceiling vs. under-deck) If I’m totally off, please educate me!

Hi all,I have a question. We are constructing a new house which has a medium/large kitchen area. I want a stereo setup in this kitchen. The speakers will have to be placed close to the ceiling (cannot do in-ceiling), the ceiling is quite high at 3,30m.I’m considering a pair of ERA 100’s (mounted at around 3,20m height) combined with a Sub Gen3. However, I cannot find any info online about this setup. Is this not a suitable setup? Or will it work? Or what other setup would you advise?Thanks in advance. Job

Hi, sorry about my english.I have Sonos Beam gen2, Sub Mini and 2 rear Sonos One Sl.My room is not too big, and I am in love with my set up.I am thinking about upgrade something. Do not now where i will find more improvement, going for an Arc or replacing the 2 rear One sl with 2 Era 300.I read about people can not hear dialogs as well as it must be with the ARC.Do Sonos use to made offers better on Christmas than Black Friday  for Era 300 (15% off with renove plan now) or ARC (now 799 Euros?)

Hi everyone,I'm looking for an upgrade on my sound system. I own a sonos beam 2 for less than a year and im thinking about buying a speaker to have a better home cinema experience. It's almost the same price to buy one Era 300 or 2 Era 100 (500euros). Does anyone have any advice to help me in making a choice between these 2 options? To be more precise, my beam 2 is 4m in front of me in my 20 square meter room, and the couch is located against a wall where i would put the speaker(s) on (on each side if i get 2 speakers and probably centered if i get one) Thanks for any advice that can help. We have a large open space that is broken up by a few walls - The TV room is roughly 400 square feet, kitchen 300sq ft, Living Room 600 aq ft We have a Sonos Move we take all around the house. In the living room there are 4 in ceiling and a center speaker connected to the TV via Amplifier through HDMI ARC. Question -Should I go Beam under the TV and two ERA 100 with one in the kitchen and one in the living room to fill the downstairs with Music?  Go with the Port on the Amplifier, add a Sub and two Era for the Living room and Kitchen Or is there a different set up you’d suggest? Again - filling the space with music is the main objective

Hi. Looked through the forums but haven’t really found a similar dilemma, if there is a similar thread i’d be glad to be linked to it.So I’m looking to purchase a speaker or 2 for my entrance /kitchen area. The problem I have is that I need something that serves both the living room and kitchen area. Right now I have a Era 300 placed in the most top left red circle, on the 1.5m shelf. It works fine if you’re sitting at the table but is sounding abit distance if you are standing in the kitchen area. I’m planning on moving the era 300 in to the living room anyway to pair with my other 300 in there and arc to make a surround system.I’ve been perhaps looking at buying 2x era 100 and placing one where the era300 is (top left circle) and the other one on the window board (top right circle in kitchen area) and maybe paring them stereo. However i’m unsure how the sound experience will be in the kitchen if they are paired as stereo since there is a wall that kind of blocks one speaker from the

Hello everyone,I'm in the process of upgrading my home theater setup, and I could use some advice from the experts here. My entertainment room is approximately 16 feet by 18 feet, with the sofa and TV positioned along the two 18 feet walls. I'm planning to take advantage of the Black Friday deals to purchase an arc + sub combo, but I'm uncertain about whether I should also invest in surrounds.Since the surround speakers would be placed on either side of the sofa within the same plane, I'm wondering if this setup would yield the optimal audio experience. I'd love to hear your opinions on this. Additionally, if I decide to go for surrounds, would the era100 be sufficient for enjoying Dolby Atmos, or is it essential to go for the era 300?Your insights and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Hi, After moving in a new flat, I was looking at SONOS option for some weeks, and would like to finalise my order, but I thought to send a short message to be sure that my possible future set up will work well. I have a “big” open room with a Kitchen, a Leaving Room and a Music Studio with existing speakers(see plan attached) and I would like to have it all connected through wifi. But based  on my budget, I am considering to buy some older generation SONOS speakers such as Play 5 and/or Play 3 with newer model ONE SL and Move.  But if I keep the Play 5 Gen 1, I will have to stay on S1 app. For me, the most important is to be able to hear all “traditional” output everywhere (Turntable, Mixing Table Output) as well as mobile and Computer output through Wifi.  Do you think that the setup attached would work, and do you have advice on the few questions there:- to connect the turntable, is a Play 5 Gen 1 stereo pair  better than and Play 3 Stereo pair + Connect?- do I need a connect AMP to

I have a Denon DRA-697CI with two pairs of high quality wired speakers. Also have two Sonos One and a Sonos Roam. My current setup is to use one (echo Dot into the Denon for Alexa controls) or the other (via Sonos app). I’m wondering if the Port would enable me to use all speakers together, or if others have had issues with wired and wireless speakers playing at the same time and controlled remotely. 

Recently my 10 yo Bose Lifestyle 535 system died. Looking at building a Sonos system. Basically we would use the system for music over Pandora and Netflix shows/ movies. So far I have purchased an Arc soundbar and a mini sub. Now looking for speakers. My questions are;Is there any advantage in buying from Sonos? I see that several local stereo shops sell the Move 2, Era 100 and 300. The  major  retailers like Best Buy, Costco and Sam’s also sell Sonos equipment. Not much difference in prices among them. .Historically, does Sonos offer Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales on speaker?Thank you.

Hi,My original topic was closed and had a follow up question based on Bruce’s recommendation.I have these specific zones pre-wired:Living Room (5.1) Kitchen (pair of speakers) Patio (pair of speakers) Master Bath (pair of speakers)With these specific areas I would need:1x Port for living room3x Sonos AmpsIs this correct?  

We have a Beam (pretty sure it’s gen 2) in our living room and wondering what to prioritise adding, and which model of each to get:Sub: mini vs standard Era x2: 100 vs 300We listen to music via Spotify, watch films via Sky Q, and use our PS5. Would love opinions on whether it’s really worth going for full Sub and 300s vs Mini and 100s, or a mix and match eg 100s plus full Sub. Would also love opinions on which of the two (sub vs eras) will make a more immediate difference, if we didn’t want to buy all at once. Would also love advice on placement. Our room is 6m x 4m, and the TV+beam is currently against the left-hand 4m wall. Our sofa is in the middle of the room facing the TV directly, ~3m away from the TV. Should the Eras go directly behind each corner of the sofa, on stands in the middle of the room, or is it fine for them to go on the back wall 6 metres away from TV? Back wall would look better. 

Hi,Hope someone can help please.I currently have in a living room the wiring for 5 channel speakers but have removed the home cinema setup to another room.I have an Arcam A32 and Tannoy Signature DC6 using the front stereo speaker wiring fed by a Sonos Connect (gen 1).I'm in process of upgrading to gen 2 and was thinking Sonos Port. However I was then thinking I could maybe get an Amp instead be able to use it for TV (hdmi) as well. In this scenario:-- Could the Amp use the A32 for the fronts (RCA)?- Could the Amp then power passive rear speakers using its own amps or I'd have to use Sonos wireless speakers?- What comes out of the digital out on the Amp in this case? Is it the full 5.1?- What would happen if I played music in such a setup? Does the Amp create a surround effect from the stereo or just play to the front speakers? Or maybe can be configured to do either?Please if anyone has experience/ knowledge of Amp and can answer these would be much appreciated.Thanks, Ian.

Hi everyoneI have a complete Sonos surround sound system set up but I would like to get a pair of floor stands for my One speakers, which are currently sitting on a table and a bookshelf at two different corners of the room.I’ve been searching online as to which ones to buy and I can see Sonos sell two types. The Sanus floor stands at £99 and then the more expensive One stands at £249, which is quite a jump from the cheaper stands. Then there are even cheaper imitations on various sites, which I don’t think I want to buy.So really my questions is, out of the two official Sonos stands, which one should I buy? Are the more expensive stands really worth the £249 and what makes them stand out (no pun intended 😂) to the Sanus version? If you own a pair of these, which one did you buy and are you pleased with them? Many thanks

Hi all,I am renovating a old house of >100 years and I am thinking about the audio set-up.I would like to have a nice audio system in the kitchen - Dining room - Sun room which will be an open space in which we will spend a lot of time.The dining room ceiling cannot be modified but their will be dropped ceilings in kitchen and sun room.I was thinking about putting pairs of Sonance in-ceiling in kitchen and sun room and a pair of In-wall in the dining room. Maybe later adding a Sub somewhere in the space if I feel the need (and have the budget….).This is a rather expensive set-up, probably with 2 Amp (one for the 4 in-ceilings and one for the in-walls) so I want to make it right.What do you think and do you have any better suggestions?Thank you!!

I recently ordered several pieces of Sonos equipment including 2 black ERA 100 speakers. I received 1 black speaker and 1 white speaker. When I contacted Sonos Customer Service to package up the white speaker, drive it to a UPS center and ship it back to Sonos. After they receive it, they will send me the correct colored speaker. Really???? First of all I don’t live anywhere near a UPS return center and second…..why am I being inconvenienced by their mistake. Can someone please help me with this issue?? Moderator edit: removed agent’s full name

Hi,In my room I have an Arc and 2 one for surround. I would like to hide wires and wonder about the best of those configurations: arc + amp and 2 inceiling such as focal icw (about 1300 euros) arc + 2 era 300 with wallmount on the ceiling (about 1000 euros) which configuration would be the best? here is a picture of my installation thanks !

I just switched from my old vinyl setup of Turntable + Integra DTM 5.3 receiver + Port to Turntable + Amp.I didn’t realize I would need a phono preamp in order to use to my 1970s turntable, which used to hook up to the Integra’s phono input. I thought the Amp had a built-in phono stage, whoops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I’d like to stick with this new Amp setup, but I’m not sure which phono preamp to get. Since I wasn’t anticipating having to buy a preamp in the first place, I’d like to keep my costs somewhat low, $200 or less if possible.I’ve heard good things about the Schiit Mani 2 and Ifi Zen Phono, and that’s basically it. Wouldn’t mind buying the $65 one from Turntable Lab either, but I assume it’s nothing special. Does anyone have any recommendations within my price range ($0-200) that would sound good with the Amp?Honestly if it could sound just as good as my previous setup I’d be perfectly happy. I’m sure the phono stage in my old receiver wasn’t that great in the first place. Maybe I should
