What to get

Hi Sonos community,I’m setting up a home audio system from scratch. I want it to support the following audio sources:online streaming audio (naturally) TV turntable CD playerI don’t have a receiver so i was looking at the Sonos Amp. This seems to be perfect for online streaming and TV but sadly has just one input (pair of RCAs) so I can connect a turntable or a CD player but not both.It looks like my options are:Buy a receiver and a Sonos Port and connect all the sources, including the Port, to the receiver. I’m a little cold on this as I’ve read some bad review about sound quality from the Port (e.g here and here). Buy a Sonos Amp and find a way to use the single input for both the CD player and the turntable, perhaps with a RCA switch (clumsy) or daisy-chaining the sources (is this even possible?).Any advice would be greatly appreciated. it seems like I’m not trying to do anything too strange here.Kind Regards,Matt  

Looking to purchase first Sonos speakers this Spring. It’ll be strictly for music 20% in the living room, 20% dining room and 60% active in kitchen while cooking. There is power in every corner of the room. Will mostly be listening to things on low/medium volume and don’t want to be an obnoxious neighbor. Budget is ~$1,500. Renting house, so not willing to add something in the ceiling.  (won’t attach pictures so you can ignore)

I have a 65 by 60 foot airplane hangar with a domed ceiling, the dome starts at 15 feet high.  I want the best sound possible inside and am wondering if a pair of 5’s with a subwoofer would be adequate to fill a room this big up with sound.  The area is used as a workshop for mechanic work and woodworking so there is generally some kind of background noise to play over from a CNC, Laser or other machine running.  I was also wondering about putting in 4 5’s and two subwoofers but don’t know how I would set that up for good sound.  Any advice is much appreciated!!

Hi, I have honed in on the Sonos Arc 7.1.4 Home Theater Bundle and adding two separate Era 300’s for our new home build. The Bundle would be in the family room and the added Era 300’s in the kitchen. I am trying to be as wire free as possible in our open concept family room/kitchen room. My goal is to have the ability to play the family room setup along with the two added Era 300’s in the kitchen at the same time or have the ability to watch a movie with the surround sound setup in the family room while playing streaming music in the kitchen.  Any advice is appreciated as this is a big expense and I want to make the right decision.

I’m looking for advice to setup my master bedroom.Bedroom has two ceiling speakers close to the wall mounted TV. I have a Sonos AMP connected to the speakers I have a Sonos Mini Sub in the room. My viewing area is on the bed, which is opposite wall to the TV.What is the ideal surround setup? If the ceiling speakers are close to the rear, I’d just use them as a surround and problem solved.I was thinking of either a Beam or Arc along with Era 300. But not sure if the fact that the ceiling speakers are in the front would affect the decision.

Hi community, I’m looking for a sonos setup for my living room. The room is rather large (15x20 feet) with 10 feet high ceilings. I would mainly stream Spotify and watch Netflix/Apple tv, most of the usage will probably be music. I’m not looking for immersive surround that will come from rear speakers, rather an esthetic setup for daily use that will support watching movies as well.I was thinking about:2x Era 100  1x Sub Mini or 1x Sub (Gen3) My concerns are:Will this setup fill the room? How will the connection to the TV work? Is it via Bluetooth? Will I have lips sync issues between the TV and the speakers of this setup? Should I consider replacing the 2x Era 100 with a soundbar? which one? Thanks! 

I have an audio-technical AT-LP120-USB Direct-Drive Professional USB and Analog Turntable System. I’d like to find the correct Sonos component that will connect the turntable to my Sonos system. I have Sonos Immersive Set with Arc (Arc, sub and 2 Ones) for TV and streaming music audio in the living room; and Sonos Fives in our bedroom and den. The turntable (haven’t yet used) is on a shelf in the den, near power but not near the Sonos Five. I’m looking for a component that will allow the turntable to connect (and be an audio source) to the Sonos system via my WiFi network. The turntable has a cable with RCA-type L&R connectors and a female USB Type B socket. What is the best, and hopefully most economical, Sonos component that can connect the turntable output to my Sonos system via WiFi?

I am currently reshuffling my living room and was thinking of switching to Sonos.The initial reason is that I really enjoy the ERA 300 aesthetics, but I can’t figure out a rational configuration to suit my needs.In the same room, I would either :listen to the turntable. I wish to use a 2 speakers stereo configuration. watch tv through a projector (with HDMI arc)A pair of ERA 300 + a beam gen2 does not work, as the ERA would have to be configured as rear channels of the beam, and would not be usable as an entry point for the turntable.Then I thought to a Sonos Amp, able to deal with the turntable and the HDMI, but the Amp is not compatible with ERA 300. Is there any configuration that would make sense for my requirements ?

My play:1 fell and now has a lot of static.any suggestions for DIY repair? my system has a playbar, sub-gen2 and another play:1 for surrounds. What can I purchase to replace the poorly performing play:1?

Hi, my wife and I are building a new home and we have to make a decision on prewiring for surround sound.  In our old home I prewired and had a wired Bose surround setup with a receiver. Our new home is open concept.  Considering that, my initial thought is to set up the surround sound using Bluetooth or WiFi.  I don’t want to have to plug in rear channel speakers and I would rather not pay for in wall wiring. I am hoping that there is a rechargeable option   I have no issue with the front channels and sub being wired but again would prefer they not be.  I am hoping that someone who knows more than me can give me some ideas/suggestions  Thanks in advance for any help. 

I am looking to replace an old analogue hi-fi with a new wireless up-to-date system. I would like to have 3 sets of Era100 speakers across 3 different rooms in the house. I would like to play CDs, records, stream music and connect to the TV. I have been told the Amp only has one line-in so I wouldn’t be able to connect both a CD player and a turntable? Can anyone recommend what I would need to be able to connect everything? Thanks!

Hello, I am trying to decide between Era 100 and Era 300 to use with my ARC and sub (gen3) as surrounds. My wife agreed to the sonos rears as long as they are not visible. So my only option is to put them behind the sofa (which has about 8-12 inches of clearance to the wall). I am using Era 100 now behind the coach with the left and right speaker facing each other. The sound is as good as expected in this scenario. I still have the option to return the 100s and try the 300s, but i wanted to see if it is even worth the effort. I know the 300s have more side and top facing speakers with Atmos. I am worried they may be too big for my situation and may not offer any advantage over the 100s in this limited space. Anyone with a similar setup, or some advice? Thanks in advance. 

 Hello,The highlighted area has a hollowed out grill covering, and I am looking for which speaker to install behind it. They would be used for a Samsung frame TV. No audiophile requirements, just acceptable sound quality.So far I am thinking either double Five speakers, or double built-in wall/ceiling speakers.  The problem with the latter is that I would either need to rotate the wall speaker 90 degrees to fit, or install the ceiling speakers that don’t face downward. I considered a soundbar but the consensus seems to be they shouldn’t be placed high up. I would prefer to leave the are below the TV empty. Thankful for any advice or thoughts!

Have a ledge in great room wall that is about 8 ft from floor.   I can place Sonos speakers on this ledge or install in wall sonance speakers connected to a Sonos amp at this same height.  The electrical is no problem for either solution as is running speaker wire for the in wall speakers.   My question is which speakers (2) will sound the best?   I know with the in wall speakers I can paint the grates and they will disappear, but will they sound as good as a pair of Era 300’s?  Will the Era 300 work well at that height? I have a Play 5 Gen 2 and was hoping to add a new Five to form a stereo pair. I have just discovered this is not possible and I have to either buy two Five's to achieve this or find myself a second hand Play 5 Gen 2 to marry up with my existing.I'm now considering other options such as a pair of One's SL (still available) with a mini sub. Has anyone any experience regarding the sound quality of this setup compared to a pair of Fives?Also looking at a pair of Era 100 with or without the mini sub. Anyone got any thoughts?

HelloI have a Sonos Amp. I have connected it to my Firestick 4K on my Benq HD Projector via Line Out, and on the Sonos app I have set the audio delay to 75ms. It is working brilliantly, the lip-sync is spot on.However, the two speakers in the room are wall-mounted and are not in the desired location for the projector screen (they are from an old hi-fi). They are good speakers. Moving the speakers to the right location would be very disruptive, I’d have to cut holes in ceiling and walls.So….I am looking to buy a couple of Era 300 or a pair of Five speakers, and using these with my projector instead, pairing them, and using the line-in. This would allow me to place the speakers on stands either side of the projector screen (so in front of and facing the people watching the films). HOWEVER everything I read says this setup isn’t really suited to TV.I’m not using a TV, I’m using a projector, and the room setup means a soundbar isn’t possible (the projector screen drops down in front of a d

I have five Sonos Ones. I have an open floor plan. Two are in the living room and two in the dining room, so basically one big room. Would adding a Sub to this be value add? Would a Five add value? Thanks!! 

Hello. I recently moved to a small apartment (45m2) and my current setup is: Arc + sub (gen3) in living room, which is quite small and sofa is against a wall and only little (20-30cm) space by the sides of sofa. I’m still interested to get rears to complete 5.1 setup. I have stereo pair of symfonisks in my bedroom, so I could move them to use as rears. Problem is, I dont want to make holes to wall and Ikea stands are quite ugly imo. Could I place symfonisks on the floor behind the sofa, to the corners? I know, far from ideal but with TruePlay it could be fine for movies? For music that wouldnt be good i guess. I was wondering to get stereo pair of era 100s next to my tv, but then I couldnt connect sub to it because its already in 5.1 setup. Would grouping stereo pair of 100s and 5.1 system sound awkward? I guess stereo pair only sounds great but lack bass…Thank you in advance!

I recently bought my first Sonos equipment and have linked it up to my Sony turntable. So this system will be exclusively used for that and to stream music. It’s set up in a wide open space that’s probably close to 800sq ft with 9’ ceilings (very open floor plan).  so far I have two era 100s and a Five. The Five definitely has noticeably more power than the two 100s. Especially on the low end which I like. So I have a decision to make. Do I purchase another Five and return the 100s? Or return the Five and purchase another pair of 100s to put around the room and then add a sub for the low end? I guess the question is, what would fill the room better? 

Hello EveryoneThere has been conversation regarding the logic of upgrading to the Era 300 or Era 100 speakers.  Below is my opinion as to when an upgrade to the Era Series Speakers may (or may not) be warranted given your current Sonos setup. The following is from an empirical view point and by no means should be considered as a rule of thumb: but more correctly as a guide. Everyone has their own reason(s) as to when, why and/or should an upgrade be considered. My personal reasons are that I like the latest and greatest tech; not just Sonos, but other electronic manufacturers  as well. Regarding Sonos, mine is by design to upgrade and sell the previous model to defer the cost of the new gear and get a decent ROI. Although Sonos products hold their value quite well...timing is also a key factor. People are more apt to buy used (pre-owned) electronics especially when the out-going product is still being sold on the manufacturer’s website and in stores at MSRP.  I might also mention that
