Speaker Recommendation and Placement for Kitchen / Living Room Music Listening

Looking to purchase first Sonos speakers this Spring. It’ll be strictly for music 20% in the living room, 20% dining room and 60% active in kitchen while cooking. There is power in every corner of the room. Will mostly be listening to things on low/medium volume and don’t want to be an obnoxious neighbor. Budget is ~$1,500. Renting house, so not willing to add something in the ceiling.  (won’t attach pictures so you can ignore)

Era 100s should fit your needs well as their placement and mounting methods are pretty flexible.

Either single speakers in each space, or add two for a stereo Pair or as dual-mono if you need more volume.

Buying only two first and trying the various options and locations should let you decide just what more you’d need to buy.

If you find the low end a bit less than you’d like you could add a mini-Sub to any 100 or stereo Pair to bump it up.

The 300s do sound better but they are larger and might be less flexible for your needs.

The Fives will of course sound best but the cost is a lot higher when compared to the 100s so I’d pass on them unless you have a well set up listening position, want the best stereo image and can budget two of them.
