Voice control and smart home

We have Sonos One with Alexa in kitchen and playbar in lounge.We can control playbar through Alexa in kitchen, but of course that’s not very convenient.I don’t want to install an Alexa device in the lounge just to control playbar, which I’m sure is one solution. But what other options are there to control playbar with Alexa? Eg to play a Spotify track on playbar with voice control.We don’t have any other kit with Alexa built-in other than Sonos One.

Hello - I have 6 Sonos speakers linked to Alexa. Four give the correct location when asked about the weather, but two do not. All are linked to the same Amazon account. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks!

Super excited to bring home brand new Sonos arc. Went through the entire set up process connected it to TV things are looking great. Log into Amazon, went to add it to the everywhere group only to discover it cannot be. Immediately started researching this and was very disappointed.Packed it all up and returned everything to Best Buy. Speaker sounded great however without the ability to add it to the everywhere group it is useless to me.

hi, I have recently bought a Sonos move and set up the voice command groups on the Alexa app. the group I have set up is - (named- living room)Sonos Move, 2 x play 1s and a Sonos play bar. When using the voice command that's on the Alexa app (Alexa, play music in the living room), the Sonos move just plays a new song and does not play the grouped speakers. any help with this would be appreciated as its really frustrating?I can group them using the app on my phone, so its not the end of the world lol but as the option for Alexa is there id like to use it.  thanks

At some point last week, my beam lost the ability for continuous playback. If I ask for an album, I only hear the first song. If I ask it to skip ahead to the next song, it does not work. Anyone else having this issue or have a suggestion?I’ve tried deleting/reinstalling the skill in the Alexa app and that did not work. Also confirmed none of these issues occur w/echo speakers, or within the sonos app using amazon music… it seems isolated to the voice command only.

I have a Beam for about a year. Before, I was able to play music on my Beam normally by asking Google Assistant to play it from Spotify on the Beam. Recently I purchased couple of One gen 2 speakers and set them as surround. After that I’m unable to ask Google Assistant to play music on the Sonos. I also noticed that my Sonos is no longer listed as speaker on the “Media” menu in Google Home app. Now the app only detects my google nest speakers, but no sonos speaker.I can still play music using Sonos app or airplay, and all Google Assistant commands work perfectly. I have tried to reboot my Sonos and make them as single speakers, but still Google doesn’t detect the speakers in “Media” menu. Is there any bug that cause this or any change on Google policy that no longer allows non-Google speakers to play music using the google assistant?

I can ask Alexa to play music while watching tv and works fine but how do I ask Alexa to go back to the tv input?

I have a Sonos playbar and connect:amp apparently I can’t connect either to my Apple HomePod Mini because neither product is AirPlay compatible.  Anyone have any idea what I can do to make the speakers able to play through Siri?

Bit of background here: After returning from a work trip I noticed that one of my Sonos speakers was playing music. After chatting with the neighbours, it appears that their children were shouting at their Alexa device and triggered mine  - through double glazing.That got me worried that I have 8 Sonos devices in my house, most with microphones and Alexa enabled. AFAIK there is no way to set an ‘away’ mode disabling all microphones when we are going out. You would have to go around and ‘tap’ them all manually OFF and then re-enable them all on your return.I understand that this is designed this way as a ‘security’ feature requiring a manual activation / deactivation of the microphone, but the security of Sonos devices is not my concern here. It is the security of other devices in the house which have speakers, e.g. cameras, baby monitors etc which could be compromised and then used to talk to your Sonos. i.e. “Alexa open the front door”.If I had the choice, I would choose the option to

My Sonos has been working great for 2 years on my Samsung TV. Yesterday it stopped working. Completely. Unplugged everything and plugged back in. Won’t recognize the connection. Unplugged HDMI and then back into ARC (same connection), tv says it’s trying to recognize connection, then nothing. Sonos still works for my phone connection, but can’t get it on my TV. Seems to be a common issue - Help. 

Issue w/ Sonos App, I continue to have issues with the new app on my iphone. Cannot open app as it freezes and shuts off after 15 seconds. It worked for a few days and then stopped. I am trying to upgrade my Sonos system with a new ARC so I need this to start working first. Have tried everything but nothing working at all. Please advise. Thanks

I have tried multiple times to setup google assistant on my new Sonos Move. I am able to do this on my Sonos One SL,but the google app cannot find the move. Any suggestions how to fix this?

Hello,Im writing to start a discussion on the current state of the integration between Apple music, x Sonos and google assistant and the effects on the Sonos service.Ive gone to considerable effort and expense over the last year converting to Apple Music from Spotify, partly with an understanding Apple music works with sonos.Sonos also has Google Assistant integration. But these three things inexplicably will not work together, even though all services support one another. I feel like ive been really patient with this issue. For Sonos’ (and Apple, google’s) users, most will believe they are stupid, because they’ve set their products up wrong, or, that the sonos service doesnt work properly. They will not go to the lengths ive gone to to figure out its probably a business dispute.Its incredibly frustrating as a user that what seems to be a dispute between two or three of you, means we feel stupid, and our promised service experience remains broken. So I ask you all to get round the tabl

I’m very upset…I live in Portugal and i can’t use Alexa or Goole assistant because there is not a chance to activate this service in this Country ...IT’S A Shame 

I’m trying to add YouTube Music to my account in the Sonos app as follows:Add YouTube Music. I already have an account. Add YouTube Music account Please use the following code… Authorize When I click on Authorize I get a popup that says “Use a Login to open”. I have a YouTube Premium account and I’m logged in to it so what’s going on?

I just got my Sonos One. How can I independently lower Alexa volume, it’s too loud and annoying. If I listen my music @70% volume, Alexa volume would be at the same level which is loud. Can I set Alexa volume at a fix lower level that won’t be affected by main volume?

Hello alli have tried multiple troubleshooting ideas to get Alexa to play Sirius on my Sonos move and it keeps giving me the response along the lines of Sirius needing to be enabled in the Alexa app even though it already is enabled. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting Alexa in the Sonos app. Disconnecting and reconnecting Sirius in the Sonos app. Disabling and enabling the skill for Sirius and the Sonos Move in the Alexa app. Nothing is working. Very frustrating. 

I know it’s possible to use Sonos One speakers to listen to music through your laptop but my question is, can you also use them for meetings on Skype or  Zoom and use the Sono’ One microphone  to pick up what Im saying to allow people on the call to hear me?  

I accidentally paired my Sonos system to the wrong Apple HomeKit Home. Turns out you cannot add them to another Home after that. You have to reset each speaker for it to work. Well, actually I ended up having to create an entirely new Sonos system and had to recreate everything. After a bunch of resetting I managed to bring all my speakers to the correct HomeKit Home… except my Sonos Move. It just WILL NOT add. Here’s how it goes:Turn off Sonos Move. Wait 72 hours. Yes, you cannot remove a Sonos Move from you system. You’ll just have to wait. Power on the Move while holding the connect/pair button. Wait for the light to turn orange. This will reset the Sonos Move. Add the Sonos Move to the Sonos system in the Sonos app. Open the Home.app and select Add Accessory followed by I Don’t have a Code or Cannot Scan. Select the Sonos Move. Get message saying “Unable to Add Accessory” with a subtext saying “Home couldn’t connect to this accessory.” This is the same error message I got with all

Please help- I'm using Google assistant and it won't play music from YouTube. It will say sure and then "sorry I can't find what you asked for". Radio stations seem fine. But when asking for a specific band no dice.

I have just bought a new TV (LG OLED 48cx -= WEB OS 5). The sound output from the TV to the Sonos Arc works fine, but the google assistant won’t budge from trying to turn on the old Android TV box instead of interacting with the new TV. Old setup: antenna->Android TV with coax->TV with HDMI->Sonos Arc with TOSLINK to HDMI adapter (the Arc port on the the old TV was fried). With that setup, the Google assistant was able to turn the android TV on/off New setup: antenna→ LG TV with coax → Sonos Arc with HDMI through eArc port. The sound output works fine but the google assistant says “the living room TV is not available” when trying to gt it to urn the TV on/off.This morning I connected the android TV to the old TV upstairs to watch the Euro2020. The Android box is connected over wifi to the modem and with HDMI to the old TV, and when I asked the google assistant to turn the TV on, it switched the android box on over the network…I tried to uninstall it and reinstall + let it conn

I am looking to implement secret rotate functionality into my device that has Alexa built in. In order to test this I need to somehow trigger Amazon to send the rotate secret directive to the device with a new secret. This is an existing and fielded product, but I am new to developing on it.

Hi, I have Google assistant controlling a play 5 speaker, when I play music the volume from the Sonos is almost inaudible but the Google speakers are quite loud. How do you balance the volume levels and have them not fall out of sync when changing the volume in the future?

Is it possible to turn down the Assistant volume on the Sonos One independently of the music volume? I have my Sonos One fairly loud but don't need the Assistant to shout!
