Voice control and smart home

Subject says it all, it is ridiculous that we have Google Home products in Japan since many many many years, and there is still no integration with Sonos.Could the Sonos team at least state whether they have the intention to get this working?I don’t think there are legal problems, because you sell Sonos One with Google Assistant, so incorporating is definitely not an issue legal wise.So why don’t you support speakers like the Sonos 5?

Hello guys,I tring to make google assistant work on my parents system (on there tv beam gen1 + 2 one sl)We live in Israel but I changed yesterday my account which link to the system to the US and tried with UK also but nothing showing up on the app.Can't add on sonos app, on google home i can link my sonos account.I wanted to purchase the beam 2 for myself but the assistant is make ot or brake it for me.Any idea why after a day it doesn't shows up?

My setup: ARC + 2 x oneSL (surround.)  My ARC is defined as a Speaker in Alexa.  It is not in the same group as the Echo.When watching TV, if I say ‘Alexa turn on lights’ - it does - and provides audio feedback via Echo speaker.  BUT, then the sound coming from ARC goes and stays very low for ~15 seconds before returning to normal.  If I say ‘Alexa stop’ during this period, the volume pops right back up.  This seems to happen if the music is coming from the Echo as well (though, in this case, saying ‘echo stop’ actually stops the music too.)My Echo is located behind my head, close to me, and it is the one that answers - not the Sonos speaker, when I talk to it.  Alexa audio playback happens, as desired, on the Sonos.Thanks for any and all assistance in fixing this uniquely annoying issue.

Hello,I have the Sonos Arc and i’m trying to set up voice assistant through the app, but there is no option in the app to “add voice assistant”  here is a screenshot of what it looks like in my app. 

I just set up Google Assistant, and I'm largely happy with it, except that sleep timers don't work. When I have spotify playing, if I say "Sleep Timer for 10 minutes", Google Assistant responds "Sleep timers can only be set when media is playing". Is there any way to get this to work?

Do I need to Uninstall the app then re install? 

Hello, all.I have four rooms of Play:1s with four Amazon Echo Dots.When I ask Alexa to play music, it plays it over the Sonos speakers in the correct room.  But when it responds to commands,  Alexa’s voice comes over the Echo Dot.This was previously working as desired (all sound coming through Sonos) in three of four rooms.  To get it right, I went through a disable skill/ de-register/ re-enable process.  Now…three of the Alexa’s responses are played on the Echo Dot and not the Sonos speakers. One Echo Dot is not playing anything on the Sonos.  The Sonos app still correctly controls that Sonos.Any ideas on how I get both Alexa responses and music to play over Sonos?  There has to be a way as I did have it working in some cases.Thanks!!

Hello, Recently (in the last 2 months) the Sonos speakers throughout the house chime out of the blue with “Sorry, there was a glitch. Please try again later!”. This happens even when the speakers are not in use … like in the middle of the night! It seems the frequency of this is increasing. I experienced this issue on both Sonos Play:1 soundbar as well as Sonos S2 speakers. I searched online and noticed lots of people experience this, but there’s no conclusion. I tried removing music services, ensuring everything is up to date, even rebooting the speakers … nothing seems to help!  Please help! The chimes in the middle of the night are very disturbing.

Hey there, I don’t like to use services like Alexa or google because they exploiting my data. That’s why I would like to use Sonos voice control but it doesn’t work for me yet.I just replaced my Playbar with the arc and activated sonos voice control. Unfortunately no matter what I ask - except the time, it can’t do it. When I ask to just play music I get „Having issues connection to your music provider, please try again later“…  When just use the app all works fine. I also set Apple Music as standard but Sonos can’t handle it. Any ideas?Thanks!

I see that a lot of people here and on other forums have problems with activating Google Assistant on Sonos. When I first setup my system there was no problem adding it to Sonos Roam. But after some problems where I had to reset my system Google Assistant couldn’t find Sonos Roam again when I tried to add it.This is how I managed to add it back again.Open Google Home on your phone (I run iOS, might be different on an Android). Click Settings. Scroll down to the bottom and click Works with Google. Click Sonos, and unlink. Go to the Sonos app and add Google Assistant as a voice assistant.Hopefully everything works for you now.   

Hello,I juste added two sonos one (1xOne and 1xOne SL) as surround speakers to my sonos beam (1st gen).I deactivated the mic on the beam. The One is near the kitchen so I usually use it as a timer or else.When I say Alexa… is ducks the volume on my beam, and so on the TV, which is really annoying for the one using them.Is there any way to prevent it ?

Hi,I’ve tried Sonos voice new in France.Configuration is ok, basic commands work very well on all my Sonos  But when I try a command like « play Dire Straits in kitchen », all my Sonos answers something like this in french « sorry, Sonos can’t connect to your music service » Same thing for Apple Music, Sonos Radio, and Amazon Music.Any idea to resolve the problem ?

I gifted a One to my parents and my dad called to say he can’t successfully add Alexa to his new speaker that he added to his existing sonos system.  I thought “this guy can’t do anything on his own.”  So, I get him on facetime and remove voice assistant from one of my speakers so I can walk him through the process.  I open up my app, click settings, click system, click on Sonos Move (the speaker I chose as the demonstration piece), click Add a Voice Assistant, choose Amazon Alexa, choose Add Amazon Alexa, Choose add Amazon Alexa, click sign in to Amazon, choose get started, choose allow, get a blank screen with a done option in the top left hand corner, it takes me back to the sonos app/system/sonos move AND I am right back where I started.  No Amazon Alexa added.  I have done this 15 times with two different mobile devices and am getting the same outcome.  WTF????  My dad isn’t helpless.  Or, we both are.  Help me!!!!

I’ve set up my Blink doorbell through Alexa and have announcements on but I’m not hearing a chime when the doorbell rings. Any suggestions? 

I have had one heck of a time trying to get a family Sonos setup working. There are five people in my house, and my goal is to have each person’s Spotify account tied to their voice using Google’s Voice Match.This works well with the Google Home Mini devices in my Google Household. I have also (after many, many times trying to reconnect) been able to get two voices linked to my new Sonos system. However, when adding the third person I get the following error:Can’t add devicesAsk the person who set up these devices to add you to this home in the Google Home app. Check that you’re linking a consumer Google account and not a Google Workspace account. I can confirm that this person is added to the home in the Google Home app, and I can confirm that this is a consumer account. I just added Google Assistant to my Sonos and try to play SirusXM through it.  The speaker says SiriusXM isn’t supported on this device.I can play SiriusXM on my Sonos through the Sonos app, but it refuses to play when I say “Hey Google play channel 23 from SiriusXM”…. it’ll say “Alright, playing Grateful Dead from SiriusXM… Sorry, it looks like SiriusXM isn’t currently supported on the music room”Some Google searching has yielded links to this Sonos Community forums where there is a staff member named “James L.” says the followingSiriusXM is not available via Google Assistant on Sonos as a supported service at this time. I used to control my Sonos system in the UK with Alexa. Now I have moved to Spain, I tried to enable the Sonos Alexa skill but it tells me it is not available in my region.  Most posts I am reading here at over 4year old - is it still not available? How weird, Wi-Fi in Spain is the same as in the UK. Any solution? 

Trying to play tunein, it says tunein live isn't available! I don't have tunein live and just want to play talksport. I can play it from sonos app but not through alexa! Please help 

the bcc has announced that it will only be available to listen to on its app can some one tell me weather Sonos will support this when it happens which I believe is very soon 

My Amazon Echo Show and Dot both are able to play music on my Sonos One. But when I attempt to join them together, the Alexa app says the Sonos is not compatible. Surely by now this should have been sorted.Any help appreciated.Asking in hope.

I have several Sonos devices across my apartment (Play1s,Play5s, Connect:Amp, ZP100) and also several google devices (Pixel Phone, 2 Alarms, Google Hub)All Google devices work properly in  playing spotify or streaming radio on any Sonos Device.EXCEPT my GoogleHub where I love to have my radio streamed with my first coffee and its driving my crazy. Early in the morning I do not want to fumble around my phone for the app but use the convenience of voice commands.That's where I get the "This”mode is not available on <Sonos Device Name>” while the GoogleHub shows me the Sonos controls on the screen (which does work btw).Already checked country settings, spotify accounts (it's also TuneIn btw), re-connected all services.Any ideas ?

Has anyone had any luck with this?  Everything works as it should except the alexa functionality.

When I say “hey google” on my Sonos Arc, it is not aware of the timers I set on other Google Home/Home Mini devices (even though the Google devices themselves are aware of timers you set on others).  There isn’t an issue with linking accounts. I am surprised.  I also noticed commands like “hey Google turn off the TV” which normally works on a Google Home Mini responds with an error on Sonos (oddly enough I can do most other things via Sonos Google Assistant like turning lights on/off).
