Voice control and smart home

Sonos Voice Control is excellent. It just works and does exactly what I need for my Apple Music account. I also listen to Qobuz, Spotify and BBC Sounds regularly - any idea if or when they might be added to Sonos Voice Control?

The alexa on my sonos can't play any music services, it says I have to link them and go back to sonos app, but they are linked. I've tried a million times. Any help would be great

Can’t add my Sonos to Apple homekit. Searched  all on the web and no solution works. Have tried everything i found. Is there any plan to solve this issue? Loosing my faith in Sonos soon if this not will be fixed imidiatly.

After update ,Alexa does not work and sonos will not play music through the app

Hi there,Both myself and my wife’s Apple Music is setup in the Sonos App under the same Sonos ID (Mine)If I use ‘Hey Sonos’ and issue a command, I have no issues.If my wife issues the same command she is totally ignored?Is this usual behaviour, or are we doing something wrong with our setup please?Should each user in the house login to the Sonos App with their own login credentials or share mine? Or is this irrelevant 😀 We are using the Full Home Cinema set-up with Arc, Sub, and two One SL’s. Any help would be greatly appreciated.thanksGary

I checked if Google assistant is possible to be install to my Sonos beams or not.and I confirmed that it is possible.However, my area(Japan) is still impossible to use Google assistant on my Sonos.Are there any schedule to apply google assistant to Japan?  

I want my Sonos One to be the default music speaker when I say a command like “play rock music” or when it’s already playing “play the next song” without having to mention which speaker. I don't have the option in the home app that's mentioned in other threads. 

I have GROUP called Main that includes my:1.TV ARC/L&R Play Ones/Sub in Family Room 2. Play One in KitchenWhen watching TV in Family Room with full TV audio playing I often say “Hey Sonos play on MAIN” while in earshot of the Kitchen Sonos 1. I’m finding that I must say “Hey Sonos switch to TV Mode” for the entire MAIN group to stop playing music and start playing the TV audio; for some reason it defaults to music on the “Play on Main” command. I finally discovered the “Switch to TV Mode” command here on the forum and thanks for that BUT: Is there a way to make my DEFAULT audio to always be TV (vs Music) when I say “Hey Sonos play on Main” when the TV is already playing and I want to include the entire “MAIN” group with that same TV audio? BTW turning the TV off/on again will default to TV audio on MAIN group and incidentally “hey sonos stop” in the kitchen first causes the TV to go on mute with unmuting NOT

Hi, I have a problem with AirPlay. The system works correctly with the Sonos app but when I want to send something via airplay, the iPhone says it can not and the Mac to change the permissions to "Anyone on the same network". But I already have those permissions like that.What can be the solution?

Since a couple of days, my Sonos Beam (Gen2) and/or Move keep saying they can’t ‘reach Philips Hue’, when I use voice commands via the Google Assistant. This used to work fine previously. The problem seems to be related to ‘scenes’, because a more simple command as ‘Turn of all the light’ still works. Maybe something went wrong with the most recent software update from last week, or so?Thanks in advance for all the input!Michel

PROBLEM: When I ask to Google Assistant to play some song uploaded on my free YouTube Music account or on my local NAS it can’t.STEP by STEP action:I have only one Google Account on my Android Device.First of all I set up Google Assistant to control Sonos throught my Google Account (on my Android Device).Then I connected my free YouTubeMusic account to Sonos App and I set YouTube Music as my preferred service on my Android Device.Then I uploaded some songs on my YoutubeMusic account. If I ask “Ok Google play porcelain of Moby on Sonos” it reply “Ok I’ll play porcelain of Moby from YoutubeMusic on Sonos…. I’m sorry the content is not available on Sonos”.I also tried to remove the YoutubeMusic Account from the Sonos App then I uploaded some songs on my NAS and paired Sonos App with NAS (I can see it on my Music Library on Sonos App). After using Alexa on my Arc the sound does not revert to TV - can anyone suggest a fix please?

Can we use the sonos system combined with google assistant or any other one to listen to activities happening in a room?I am asking as I suspect my ex husband set this up to follow my conversations and listen to activities happening at my home. Thanks so much for your help!

I have a few home automations that start to play music on my Sonos devices.The problem is that between the start of the automation and Sonos starting to play to content (for sure when radio) there are a few seconds of delay.Start automation → communication to Sonos to start playing Radio A → few seconds → Sonos starts playingI would like, when the automation is triggered, give immediate feedback that the automation is triggered by for example sending a ping or a chime sound from the Sonos player. So the user knows that automation has successfully started. Start automation → communication to play (local) ping sound -> Sonos plays ping sound -> communication to Sonos to start playing Radio A → few seconds → Sonos starts playingIs this somehow possible via the API? Are there a few local Sonos sounds that can be used for this? 

When I ask alexa on my beam or roam to play songs it will only ever play one and then stops.

I have added a Beam gen 2 to my home. I was setting up the ring doorbell announcement to all speakers in the Alexa app and go into the Ring Doorbell settings but it is not showing the Beam in the announcement device list. All my other speakers - echo shows and various other Sonos devices are listed. I have checked everything I can think of, including that the Beam in set enabled for communication and announcements in the Alexa app. Disabling / reenabling the Sonos Alexa skill / Removing all Sonos devices and readding.

Alexa answers my request, for example “Alexa play Imelda May”  she then says the normal “shuffling sons by Imelda May”   - But then nothing.  My other echo devices work fine. Sonos One Gen 2 

It is UNACCEPTABLE that you are marketing Sonos Roam speakers with GOOGLE VOICE ASSISTANT and ALEXA when you do not support it in Poland. The Roam should not be sold in this market as you are misleading customers with your translated user guide, indicating it can work. Only to figure out, by digging deeper on the website that it does not.Can I ask you Sonos, why you are selling the Roam in Poland, when you are fully aware that the only product that should be on sale is the Roam SL?As for the laziness of not adding voice support with English is beyond me. Hi thereFirst time using the community forum :)Been using Alexa to voice search music tracks to play on Sonos since time began. My default streaming service is Spotify (but I have others). I noticed today that all my tracks from this morning (listening on the Sonos Roam in the kitchen) were not appearing on my Last.FM profile (basically not ‘scrobbled’). I have conducted some very basic tests and made following observations:Selecting a Spotify track via the Sonos desktop app (e.g. using the mouse and double clicking) results in the track playing on Sonos AND being scrobbled to Last.FM. Ask Alexa to play the ‘same’ Spotify track on Sonos (via voice search on an Echo Dot) to the same Sonos speaker results in the track playing BUT not being scrobbled to Last.FM. Issue doesn’t seem to occur with Amazon Music voice search (i have not tested other music streaming services). Tracks that auto play AFTER the voice search track also

Was working fine till yesterday. Have followed all instructions and tips on this community plus others. Still cannot make it work. On Alexa app shows device as offline when it is not. Help?  :-(

I noticed that for many albums (especially anything somewhat popular, ie. non children's music), when I use Apple Music (with Alexa/Sonos Voice), I end up with no way to manage the playlist, I cannot repeat or decide which song to play next. I just have an “end session” button if I go to the Sonos playlist.When using Youtube Music I don’t have this issue, so I guess this is an intentional limitation of Apple Music?Backstory: I have Youtube Premium because I don’t want adds on Youtube. But it seems like Sonos isn’t prioritizing Google given its law suit. A while ago Google Assistant “announce” stopped working. I also wanted to be able to use Sonos Voice, so I switched to Sonos Voice + Alexa. But neither supports Youtube Music. As a result I started a trial of Apple Music but so far I am quite disappointed. Apple Music + Alexa also seems less good when it comes to dealing with music requests from my child (in German). I guess I might give Amazon Music a try. 

When I first set up my system I set it up with Alexa. Can I also add Sonos voice control? Therefore having both Alexa and Sonos. Is it even necessary? Are there any benefits of having both? Thx 😊 

I can create a shopping list using the sonos alexa. However, it does not appear on my samsung android phone alexa. Alexa on phone connects with sonos just fine. Shopping list on phone Alexa is a separate list. Is there a way to be able to verbally create a shopping list on the sonos and have it appear on my phone when I take it shopping?

My Sonos One has recently started saying “sorry this device is offline”.  I have disabled and re enabled via upgraded Sonos app. Updated software on Sonos one. Deregisterd and re registered via Alexa App. Both apps report device is online via wifi. 

Hello all,I have a Sonos system with multiple speakers that was originally set in the UK.I have now moved to Spain and tried to control again my speakers through Alexa but it’s been impossible to do so: Alexa sees I have Sonos speakers, suggest to me that I should enable them but then I get the message “You are not elegible to enable this skill due to geographical restrictions.”Would someone be able to help?
