Voice control and smart home

Great that Sonos/Google is working again, however now I can’t stop music or radio (TuneIn) playing using the “Stop” command. It used to work. The error message I get from Google Assistant is: Nothing is currently playing.I don’t have any problem telling Google Assistant to play music or radio. Has anyone else experienced this?

In the last week my Sonos One stereo pair running Google Assistant has started giving me this message frequently when I request to play, pause, resume or stop something. Sometimes it’s stuck on this error - I can ask it repeatedly and keep getting the same response. That’s very annoying when it’s playing a stream and I’m telling it to STOP!!!Google Assistant itself is not affected as far as commands not involving Sonos streaming - it only affects media streams starting or stopping.The Sonos app is unaffected. Even when GA is refusing to start or stop a music stream repeatedly because “Sonos is not available”, the Sonos app has no problem doing it, and correctly shows the streaming status of the speaker.I can also ask my nearby Echo Dot to play or stop music on Sonos, and it works fine.So which side is at fault here, Google or Sonos?At one point I tried unplugging and replugging the primary Sonos One speaker of the pair. Hi allI just purchased a Sonos Move and I've been asking for a song via voice to play on YT music premium.Eg. OK Google, play Pearl Jam - Alive. This plays the song no problems however once the song finishes the music just stops.  Can the Sonos keep playing other random similar music like my Google Home mini does. Is there some kind of setting to enable or Sonos doesn't do this natively?  I’ve seen a topic 2 years ago but there was no resolution in there.

I’ve read several posts regarding SVC no longer working for Spotify and some answering that it never has?  SVC worked for Spotify on my Sonos Move2 until last week, I agree with the person that started this thread, SVC and Spotify did work.

I’m not able to connect Google Assistant to my Sonos Five and Sub (3rd gen).  Per the instructions, I’ve linked my music (Spotify) to both Sonos and Google.  I also confirmed the Five supports Assistant The instruction page from Sonos shows clicking on Assistant in the Sonos app and then it opening Assistant to complete the setup.  Instead of the GA setup page, I get a “Set up Google Assistant” help page which tells me to go to the Assistant App to connect it When I go to the Google Assistant app and link or reconnect my Sonos account, it connects successfully.   I can cast to my Sonos but GA doesn’t recognize it as a d

Dear people from sonos,I have a sonos beam (gen 2) and I'm very happy with it. I have a issue with the voice commands lately and would like to solve this problem. If I ask ‘hey google, play ….. on spotify’ it says: '’Oke, I will play the playlist of ….. on spotify’ and then nothing happens. I already put the sonos bar off and on again, I reauthorised and reinstalled the spotify app in the sonos app en the google home app but now i'm running out of options. could you please help me? If i ask other things, like google search, it works. So it really is the connection with spotify I think. Hope to hear from you.kind regards,Mathijs

Is Alexa supported on Sonia in India. If not it’s very bad on the part of Sonia. As it’s officially selling its product in India

Whenever I lose power the Sonos system (5 devices) no longer are recognized by the Sonos app. I try dozens of times to reset.  No luck.  Amazon Alexa has no issues, reconnects right away and allows me to control the devices in seconds.  Typically after a week, the Sonos app starts to control again without any intervention by me. Does anyone else experience something like this? Thanks! 

Hi, Do you now if i can have the Sonos S2 app on a FireTV by the store? I didn’t found any information about.My setup is 6 One, 1 beam and 1 sub. I got an Amazon Echo Show 15 to have a pannel to control all my other devices. On this tablet,i got FireTV. I wan’t to control the music all round my house whit it but Spotify Connect is not enabled on FireTV by the spotify app and Sonos didn’t make an app on FireTVAnyone have a solution? :( (sorry for my worst english)

Surely in 2003, two company’s with different objectives could at least work together in a modern world and provide an integrated solution….Sonos sound is amazin, my house is full of it - fantastic integration with Apple and Amazon has not improved In years whilst a phone is “a” place to choose music - surely a central control centre in the household is still a great asset to a system - perhaps the likes of an Amazon show? An amazon show cannot even communicate nor stream/airplay music to a Sonos speaker - yet both claim to be “so” compatible with each otherI have seen a few posts about this now and people saying they prefer wires? WTF?The amazon show can even show movies….Is it really to much to as that whilst preparing a meal in the kitchen say, that the Amazon show can be used as the household central control device, the words of the song appear right there on its screen and the music PUMPS out not only it’

As linked to above....my beam randomly turns off the microphone so you have to get up and turn it back on which defeats the point of using your voice.  It seems to happen randomly.  When it's on its own, and I can't be sure how or why it keeps disabling itself.  It has never failed to turn back on, but why does it turn off??

I’m having trouble linking the Sonos App with Alexa can’t set up voice control any help much appreciated 

When using Sonos Alexa to stream BBC radio via BBC Sounds, or music from Amazon Music, I experience frequent (every minute or two) frustrating interruptions of a few seconds in the play back which just go on and on until I get fed-up and I stop trying to listen. If I monitor the playback on the Sonos app whenever there is an interruption the message is displayed “Unable to play song ‘song’ - the song is not encoded correctly. ”When I use Alexa on Sonos to access other streaming services (Greatest Hits radio for example) the radio service streams OK without interruptions….and if I connect my iPad to the same wi-fi point as the one used by Sonos and use BBC Sounds/Alexa/Amazon music on my iPad and AirPlay the stream to my Sonos it also works ok (no interruptions).So I only get a problem when using Sonos Alexa to stream the BBC Radio / Amazon Music content…..I’ve seen lots of posts about this error which generally try to blame the network the sonos is connected to…

There is no way to set your Google Assistant volume separate from the Soundbar's TV/music volumes. This means that if you muted your TV before last switching it off, you can barely hear Assistant (though it appears at least to have a minimum volume). And it means that if you last listened to your TV at high volume and go to interact with Assistant late at night, you likely will wake up your whole household. There was a thread on this which Sonos closed a year ago. At that time, people were complaining Sonos hasn't done anything about this known issue for two years. Why are we even wasting our time with feature suggestions, if Sonos won't take one which already should have been obvious anyway?  

All of a sudden, I'm having issues with one of our arcs. When trying to use sonos voice control for any command it will reply,  "I can't locate that. Please check your product name." I can say anything and that's the reply. Tried unplugging the power. Tried removing voice control and reinstalling. Tried unplugging, holding down Infiniti button to reset, reinstalling voice control... all fails with same message. The arc shows up in my controller and it works via my phone but the Sonos voice command simply stopped working when it had been working just fine for a year. I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Is there any update on the support for Alexa multiroom music (MRM) support on Sonos? I just purchased a Sonos Beam with the understanding that it supported Alexa groups. I learned after setting it up, that while it can be added to an Alexa group, it can’t be added to a speaker group with Echo devices. I understand that Amazon released the software to implement multiroom music support in 2018 (link below) and that at least the Polk Command Bar supports this functionality. Is there any possibility that Sonos will add this capability to the Beam? Hi All, I’m resurrecting this question which was asked three years ago as it’s suddenly started happening after years of stability. Problem Description:Streaming via Alexa to Sonos. Command “Alexa Skip” is registered by Amazon but the command is not executed on Sonos. At this point the system is pretty much in auto mode. It can be stopped and the volume can be changed but that’s about it. Any streaming content has to be stopped before I can switch to a different channel / playlist from Amazon. Album art is not shown on Sonos app. “Next track” is greyed out on Sonos app. Typically, this happens from the second track onward. Configuration:Stereo pair of Sonos 1 speakers linked with a Sonos Roam. Running the most recent version of firmware. Connectivity is via WiFi on a very stable network with strong signal strength.

I can turn it on and off using voice control.  It will not adjust the volume up or down. I have changed the voice assistant and tried Sonos, alexa and Google.  Volume won't work with any of them.

A specific radio station in TuneIn called “Radio Italia” can't be run by voice, but it play when launched by the app

My ARC tends to rob the microphone over my Amazon Dot in a nearby room. So, when the ARC Alexa responds, it really can’t be heard from the other room where the Alexa wake request was issued.is there a way to make the microphone less sensitive on the Arc? I don’t want to disable it entirely as I do use the functionality when in that room, but want it to play well with my Amazon Echo and dots in other rooms.

I have 6 Sonos devices in the house (3 Era 100, a Port, Arc and Sub Mini). Just want to use the SCV command play everywhere without playing to the Arc. Can do? The other night after play everywhere turned on the TV and TV audio was coming through the other speakers in the house, That shouldn’t happen.

Hi,I recently bought the Era 100. It all works fine except for being able to play music on voice command.Alexa responds to other voice commands like alarms, the weather, accessing radio stations via Tune In etc. But when I say "Alexa, play [so and so] on Spotify" Alexa responds by saying "Here is [so and so] on Spotify". But nothing after that happens.I also own a Sonos One and it worked fine. But ever since I bought the Era 100 (I had to update the Sonos app to setup) now the Sonos One doesn't work for music requests either.I've disabled the skill in the Alexa app and reinstalled, reinstalled sonos app, added alexa voice service but nothing helps. Any help would be appreciated. 

My Samsung frame TV’s can pop up a video alert on my TV when my Ring Pro Doorbell or Arlo Security cameras detect motion.  I received a motion notification on-screen along with the triggered camera’s video stream.  This works perfectly until I connect a Sonos ARC sound bar.  When I use the sound bar I get the motion notification on screen but no video from the camera appears.  If I go through the menus and trigger the cameras I can see the video on the TV but it will not display the video stream when using the Sonos ARC sound bars.  It does work if I use a Samsung sound bar.  Any ideas how to rectify this issue.  I’d hate to throw out 3 Sonos ARC sound bars due to this issue.

My Move recently quit playing music on Amazon via Alexa. When I ask Alexa to play a song title it states unable to access Amazon Music or something to that effect. Alexa will reply with weather, questions, etc just not music. The Amazon and Sonos app are up to date and the Sonos skill is active in the Alexa app. Can anyone please provide me with an answer. Thanks in advance for your help
