Hi Everyone

I have Alexa enabled on my SONOS One to control Spotify.

I have just purchased an Amazon Smart Plug, with the intention to control the plug via the SONOS One. From reading the forums it seems I need to enable a skill within the Alexa app, but which skill is it? Or is this wrong, and do I need to do something else? One

Thanks :) 🙏

You may or may not have to add another skill, depending upon the type of plug that you’ve purchased.  In your case, just ask ‘Alex, discover devices’ and Alexa will discover the new plug. (Obviously if it’s switched on! 😎)

Once found it’s best to rename the device within the Alexa App to something memorable and create an Alexa Group - You may want to read my post on naming conventions, although it is very old now:

You can then either control the plug by voice or with Alexa Routines.

Thanks for getting back to me @UKMedia

I have this plug - https://www.amazon.co.uk/amazon-smart-plug-works-with-alexa/dp/B082YTKC47/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3I54LBF8NT4DW&keywords=amazon+smart+plug&qid=1699627159&sprefix=Amazon+Smart+%2Caps%2C76&sr=8-1

The plug has been found within my Alexa app, but not sure how to turn it on and off using my voice?

Once you’ve renamed the device just follow these commands: https://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=21341313011

Edit:  Sorry, here’s a better link.
