My sonos one will not update to find 8.2.3 update - i would like ot get this alexa issue fixed.

Will my existing Sonos one have support to Google assistant in next year or near future? Or do I have to purchase a new Sonos one get Google assistant. My current sonos one with Alexa really is pathetic and I’m really looking forward to have Sonos one with Google assistant. I hope I don’t have to buy a brand-new Sonos one with Google assistant. Could you please confirm if the new hardware purchase with Google assistant going to waste my money.

When asked “Alexa what time is it?” my newly installed Sonos smart one replies incorrectly for the UK I.e. 8 hours ago whereas all of my other amazon Alexa devices reply with the correct UK time. How do I change that?

I have existing sonos play 1 and play 3 and have just bought a sonos one. I previously used Napster but understand this is not compatible with Alexa. I also have amazon prime but rarely use it. Trying to use it now but I request a track I know is available on prime and Alexa says "Here's a sample of.... and plays about 20 seconds of the track.

I would like to know if others feel the same way about Alexa’s volume steps being too large. In my living room I have a Playbar and two Play Ones so the Volume is louder than just having a single speaker. When I ask Alexa to change from volume one to two, the difference is too great! I have to keep reaching for the app to find a level in between manually. It would be much better to either introduce a scale of 1-100, but I understand that would be harder to achieve for Sonos as it’s an Alexa scale used on all their products. Instead, how about a mode (similar to night mode which handles compression) where you can have half power? For my everyday needs I currently don’t go past volume 4 anyway, but if half power was introduced then it would mean this would become 8 which would give me an extra step in between.

Voice Services for Alexa not available in our country Philippines. When Can this be available so that I could fully use my Sonos One with Alexa

I'm purchasing a PLAY:1 and a Playbar and I know the Playbar only has an optical input. Can I plug my Amazon Dot or Google Mini (with aux/auxiliary stereo jack) into the PLAY:1? If so, will it also play music through the Playbar? Thanks in advance for the help.

When using my One I ask Alexa to play BBC Radio 2 and it plays it using Tunein radio, it keeps dropping out. if I listen using My Sonos it does not, why?

Convincing the Sonos One to respond to the wake word is intermittent at best, utterly useless at worst. On some rare occasions, it’ll pick it up first time. Great! But other times I’m stood there repeating Alexa over and over again. I’ve just said Alexa twenty times. Nothing. My echo dot in the kitchen responds first time, every time. So, is the One broke? Will it ever function as advertised? Will it be updated to function properly or shall I just give up hope as Sonos have given up making decent products??

Hi, I have found a work around to download alexa app on my android using US VPN since I'm outside US. I have sign in on my Amazon account as part of using Alexa app and click on skill then search for sonos to link my Sonos One with Alexa App. I enabled sonos then go through discover devices for Alexa app to discover my Sonos One but unfortunately when I click ädd Device, an error occurred saying Discovery failed. When I check my sonos app, the voice services the message is still not available in my country. May I ask help if my set up requires a separate alexa device like echo dot to connect or discover my Sonos One or is there another work around to enable my sonos One with ALexa skill. I both tried discovering my devices using the US VPN as well as my local wifi, signing in, on my sonos account on both occasion when I click the skills under Alexa App for sonos . Hope somebody could help to break this last obstacle on getting my sonos one get alexa skill. thanks in advance.

I was successful in getting Alexa to play a specific Pandora station on my Sonos speakers. Then I added some new stations and edited the names of a few others. Now Alexa does not recognize any of the new or edited stations. I tried waiting overnight thinking it would take time the changes to sync. I tried disconnection Alexa from Pandora and then reconnecting them. No luck. She still recognizes and plays older and unchanged stations and plans them on whatever Sonos speaker i dictate. Any suggestions?

I can’t even begin to voice the level of disappointment I have with the Sonos One. It’s advertised as a Sonos speaker with Alexa in it, and I guess at a very high level that’s accurate but it’s riddled with issues. The microphone sensitivity is woeful, I’ve stood in front of it shouting Alexa only to hear my Echo Dot in the living room respond. It also seems to have more issues understanding what I’m saying than my Echo Dots, probably again linked to microphone sensitivity. It doesn’t show up as an Alexa enabled device severely limiting its functionality in a smart home eco system, it can’t be included in groups, doesn’t want to seem to play as a multi room speaker with my echos. I couldn’t recommend this unless you’re only interested in having it play music, but even if that’s all you wanted I struggle to see how a Sonos One in it’s current form could compete with the flexibility of a Play 1 and an Echo Dot. I have numerous Sonos speakers throughout the house, all with individual names. I have also added them all to a group called "All Speakers". I can get Alexa to control any one speaker individually, but when I try to get her to play the same music on all speakers throughout the house by directing her to play on "All Speakers", she says she understands, but it doesn't work. It just ends up playing on one speaker. Oddly, when I then tell her to stop playing music, and then repeat the request to try playing on all speakers, she will end up playing two different songs on two different speakers.

I say, "Alexa, play DeepTracks [name of station] on SiriusXM in Library [name of speakers]." Alexa makes a deep tone, and nothing plays.

For people who are wiring an Echo Dot into their Sonos Play5 or Connect Amp you might want to check out the new Echo Spot. I just replaced my Dot in the Dining Room, which feeds a pair of Play5 Gen1s, with an Echo Spot and immediately noticed a few cool things about this setup. Hello i see a lot of posts regarding the alexa integration and it limitations. Do you guys have a roadmap you can post? Just a little information on what to expect in the coming months and what NOT to expect would keep most users here very happy. it doesnt bode well for your customer service/reputation when so many people are asking the same questions and all we here are crickets Arun

Will the Echo Connect phone accessory be usable with the new Sonos One? Can I then have Sonos become my home phone?

In the past week or so, Amazon have updated the smart home section of the iOS Amazon Alexa App (see screenshots) and there is currently no way to 'forget' existing devices or scenes. That feature has been replaced with an option to enable/disable a device or scene. It’s not as tidy as the previous version of the app in my humble opinion, but I assume that things are not yet complete with the software update at this moment in time. I have now discovered that it is still possible to 'forget' smart home devices and scenes however by going to the online web portal version of the app which is located here for UK users: https://alexa.amazon.co.uk/spa/index.html (note it is perhaps best to access this via a PC, as you may find a mobile browser will try to launch the mobile app instead, albeit there are ways to resolve this which I won’t go into at this time). ...Anyhow, the web portal still has the 'forget' option and so any devices etc. can still be removed or forgotten here. I have tried to ask Alexa to call eg. My husband, it says it can not. I thought it could do this? or this only alexa to alexa at present?

Sonos/Amazon Alexa - Please let those of us that have Mulitiple Sonos Speakers in house when your APP and Alexa intergration is ready for prime time. My Setup - Play 5, PlayBase, Sonos One, 3 Sonos Play-1's, 2 setup as a stero pair. I'm Tired of trying to get my Sonos One to understand commands for other speakers in my house, Setting up Smart Home, adding devices, configuring and configuring things, All to hear Alexa say basically "I can't do that" I am a DIE HARD Sonos fan, as you can tell by my setup, but the Alexa Intergration with other SONOS speakers in a home is no where it needs to be. While your at it, you can Work with DEEZER, so goof ball Alexa can understand my commands to play Deezer through my speakers. Though I'd like this Alexa Sonos-One, Right now, it might just get re-wrapped and give to someone on my Christmas list.

Has anyone else had the problem of being able to control the music (pause, stop, skip tracks, etc) by voice?

I often ask Alexa to play a genre of music to my grouped Play 5 and two Play 1s and whilst it initiates playing an Amazon station, i often find that it will get the end of a song (or having played several songs) and then the music just stops. I'm fairly sure this only started happening since version 8 and also i think it's only happened via a voice command start. I recently bought a bridge so that my speaker furthest from the router is more stable via Sonosnet although the issue was happening before that. I've submitted diagnostic 7991733 Any thoughts anyone?

With my Sonos playing I say to Alexa, "Alexa, stop playing in Kitchen" I almost always get the response "Sorry, cameras do not work on this device" I then have to say "Alexa, stop kitchen" Anyone else experiencing anything similar?

Bought a Sonos One today, for a second home. Have many Sonos products at home, but this is on its own in a holiday home. Disappointed to find out that the Alexa will not play my music collection on my iPad or iPhone unless I copy files up into amazon, or play manually. Appears to really be designed for services rather than local music. Not that I have it here but if my Sonos system had access to my iTunes library would Alexa also not be able to find these? 😞
