I have succesfully set up the Beam some months ago and could play Amazon Music through, however recently I noticed when I ask music to be streamed Alexa responds, but no music is actually played.  The Beam works correctly along with the Sub when being used as a Home Theatre.   And yes I have an Amazon subscription via Prime.

Hi, i've 4 echo dot and 2 sonos one, there is a way to add my sonos in the alexa multi room? I have a speaker group into alexa app, but i can't add sonos. thanks

In September 2018 Amazon released the AVS Device SDK that allows Alexa enabled 3rd party speakers to use Alexa Multiroom Music (MRM). This means Amazon now supports music played from Echo speakers and 3rd party speakers at the same time. Does Sonos plan to update their Alexa enabled speakers (One, Beam) to allow Alexa multi-room music?

Hi Folks, I recently got an email from Sonos saying that we can now play music from Apple Music using Google Assistant. However, whenever I try to play music using my Sonos One I get an error "Okay, playing music using Apple Music... I'm sorry there was an error with Sonos One". Can anyone help me out with this? The email states that the Google Assistant integration leverages the Apple Music subscription using the Sonos App, so there shouldn't be any issues. Below is a picture of the email. Connected my Beam to my Samsung TV ARC port. Volume control is working, but can't get Alexa to turn on or off my TV. She says "Sorry TV is not responding". Any idea?

So, just given my Daughter a Sonos One for her bed room to add to the other Sonos devices around the house.   Prior to this, all Sonos devices, Alexa and Apple Music accounts in the house were all mine.   But she has her Apple Music playlist and stuff on her iPhone… so she needs to use her Apple Music account….. so far so good!   Register Sonos One to MY account  Add My Daughter’s Apple Music account to Sonos she can now use the Sonos app with her Apple Music profile   But I can’t figure out the next step of linking her Alexa account AND her Apple Music to the Sonos One.   From what I can find on the web talks about linking an Echo device to a child’s Amazon account but the options for this does not seem to be available in the Alexa App so I can’t then add her Apple account to Alexa   Any ideas how to manage different users within the same house and multiple Apple Music accounts?   I would be OK for her to have my Alexa account on the Sonos One, but really need her Apple Music to be o

Hello, I’ve been using Alexa (amazon.co.uk account) and Sonos (incl. Sonos One) for years with no issue. Few weeks ago some of my Sonos devices went offline. I had to reset all the system to resolve the issue. Everything but Sonos One is working back OK. But I cannot enable Alexa on my Sonos One.  I did:  - factory reset of Sonos One (several times, including reconnection thru wifi and thru ethernet).  - uninstall / reinstall Sonos & Alexa app on my iPhone  - disable skill and re-enable with account linking Sonos skill in Alexa app   My Sonos One is working, but only one way. It is not listening to Alexa commands. Mic is ON of course. I live in Romania but speak English. I cannot get Alexa or Google Assistant to work on my Sonos One. Is there a fix?

Do we have the capability to play Sonos within Alexa groups yet? I can see that it was discussed early in 2019, but can’t see a recent update on this.

Hi   Just bought a Sonos one speaker. Everything connected to same network. It plays fine, can ask for Radio 6 for example and it works. I can play Spotify on my phone ans physically select the speaker from the device list. However, if I ask Alexa to play something, it just searches amazon music instead of Spotify, even though I have Spotify as the default.    When I say “Alexa, play Spotify”, it says that my account doesn’t support streaming on the device   Any ideas?

I have two Sonos ones and have never been able to control Spotify using Alexa.  I can play spotify on the Sonos through both the Sonos and Spotify app.  However if I say ‘Alexa play spotify’ the response I get is “Here is spotify, sorry that device is offline” I have removed Alexa off both Sonos devices, disabled the spotify skill and then re-added everything.  Still not working.  I bought the Sonos One for the Alexa feature and its not working… grrrrr.  My son just bought an echo and Spotify works perfectly on it. Can anyone help fix this please.

When I try and link Google Assistant to my Sonos One(s) I get as far as the page that says ‘Go to your Google Assistant App’, however when I click it it redirects me to the App Store despite the Google Assistant App being installed on my phone. I have have tried uninstalling both apps, hard resetting my phone and resetting the Sonos system countless times, but every time I still get misdirected. Has anyone else seen encountered the same problem?

It looks like Sonos One and Beam are connectable to Google Home devices (specifically, the Nest mini), but I don’t see info for Playbar. Any ideas?

If I put on a specific song from Youtube Music on my Sonos One via my smartphone, that song plays, and afterwards it automatically generates a playlist, putting on similar songs to the one I put on. In other words, it will keep playing some kind of music to keep the party going, which is the expected behavior and what most other speakers will do. However, if I put on the same song using Google Assistant, it plays that song only and then stops. This isn’t good for keeping the party going, and it's completely contrary to what happens e.g. on Google Home. Will this be changed at some point?

 Is it possible to play the same music over my Alexa.and my Sonos one SL?  Although Alexa is enabled on all equipment I cannot play same music on both.  I have tried to do a multi media group but Sonos speaker does not show as an available speaker.   I see this question was asked about a year ago but I’m wondering if there’s an update.   thank you

I’m trying to set up voice control through google assistant on my new Play one. However, in the app when I select services the only options are “music and content.” There is no “voice” options available. I’ve tried re-downloading the app and double checking that It’s updated. I live in the US so it is definitely available here. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, -This worked up until a couple of months ago. -An Alexa request now results in the Audible Book being played on the echo/dot but not on sonos -Audible books play over sonos perfectly using Sonos Apps. -I've logged out of Audible/Amazon, Alexa app and logged back in using same credentials. -I've deleted all the devices from the Alexa app, disabled and re-enabled the sonos skill, re-discovered devices - no change in problem. -I just spoke to Sonos tech support - they tell me that if an alexa request to play Audible Books over sonos doesn't work, then I need to contact Amazon because Sonos only supports playing music. I am skeptical. If true, then I'm disappointed in Sonos. If It's not true, then I'm disappointed in Sonos support Here's an excerpt from Sonos' website: "..... When I go through the steps of adding Google Assistant in the Sonos App it says: “Your Google Assistant is ready to use with Sonos Include the room name when you ask the Google Assistant to play music.”  Except it’s not showing me any of my Sonos speakers.  So what’s going on here? When I go into the Google Assistant app itself it shows every one of my devices.   Also when I go back into the Sonos App under services it does not Show Google Assistant it simply shows Add a Service as though I never connected the two. I’ve tried telling the Google Assistant to play things in the kitchen for example and I get the response, “Sorry, the requested media content isn’t available for your Google Play Music subscription tier.” or I will tell it to play Lithium on SiriusXM in the kitchen and get the response “ Sorry, it looks like SiriusXM isn’t currently supported on the Kitchen.” I have both Google Play Music and SiriusXM accounts paired to my Sonos and they work just fine via the Sonos app.  Go

Recently switched my sonos 1's for ones in a 5.1 surround. Both ones set up as different alexa areas to differentiate. Every thing is setting up and adding as it should and working as it should via the controller. But I cannot get anything to play in/on my living room which is the surround set up via alexa. I've scrolled through most of the threads on here tried forgetting devices and re adding, I've tried re naming, I've disabled and enabled the skill several times nothing seems to be working. Also If I start music in a bedroom on the app and then ask alexa to play something in the same room it doesn't override the app, nothing happens.

I’m trying to use Alexa to play local music via Plex, on my Sonos system. I can’t quite get it all working and am wondering if there’s something that I need to configure differently, or if it’s just not doable at this point. Here’s my equipment: Sonos Playbar, Sub, and a pair of One SL speakers (configured as surrounds) Echo Dot  Raspberry Pi 3B running Plex media server with local MP3 files (also has a Samba server running) I’m pretty new to all this equipment, so please forgive me for any obvious oversights.  Plex is set up and working - can use the Sonos app on my phone to browse and play my local music (both with Plex and Samba) on the Raspberry Pi. The Echo Dot can play music from Plex on its local speaker (using the “Ask Plex…” command). The Echo Dot (Alexa app) has the Sonos devices configured as a default group, so when I ask it to play something from Amazon Music it will automatically play it on Sonos. Hi all help would be appreciated.  Using an echo spot and two play ones in the same room I used to be able to say “Alexa play bbc radio one in the master bedroom”. And it would play.    for a few weeks now (just haven’t had time to post for help) instead of playing radio one it plays radio Zürich! can anyone help? thanks Josh

I have setup my Amazon echo to work with Sonos using the Sonos skill.  The services I have available are Apple Music and Amazon music.  If I ask Echo to “play music by Abba in the Lounge” it plays the music through that zone player but it comes from Amazon Music rather than Apple Music.  I’ve deleted Amazon Music service from the Sonos app and set up Apple Music as the default preferred music service in the Alexa app however it still plays from Amazon. “play music by abba in the Lounge” - comes from Amazon Music through the Sonos “play music by abba” - comes from Apple Music through the echo speaker “play music by abba in the Lounge on Apple Music” - comes from Apple Music through the Sonos Is there anyway to get this working so that the default with Sonos is Apple as it is when using the internal speaker.  Otherwise I may swell just use the Sonos app and Alexa becomes redundant.  It doesn’t appear to be possible to disable Amazon Music on the Alexa/Echo.  

Hi everyone. I need a brief summary of Sonos, Alexa e and Sonos+Alexa limitations. In a perfect world, I would like a system that can: play multiroom music thru vocal commands play local music (stored on a Synology NAS) thru vocal commands From what I’ve learned in these days there are the following limitations (if you can confirm this): you can’t put Sonos and Alexa speakers in the same group you can’t play local music (on a NAS) with Alexa. The only solution is Synology skill (not available for my NAS) or My media skill (but it does not support more than 1 speaker at a time and I can’t install it on my NAS since I can’t create a virtual machine) Sonos can play NAS-stored music, but only thru the app and not thru vocal commands Please tell me if there are other known limitations which are unlikely to be “fixed”.   Also: if I have 2 passive ceiling speakers, attaching a Sonos Amp, can it be activated thru a Echo Dot wirelessly? Does Sonos Amp have any kind of stand by to reduce energy

When I ask my sonos to play something it tells me that ‘family room is unavailable right now’ Any one able to tell me how I can fix this?  thanks I’m advance

I have just added another Sonos ONE to my collection. I now have 3 in total. When adding the last ONE, the microphone button is inactive. I have reset the speaker, the whole system and still nothing. I have enabled and disabled the skill in Alexa etc, but nothing seems to work. To add to the mystery, when resetting the system, one of my other ONE's has now got the same problem; a totally inactive microphone button. Any ideas? Many thanks.
