Have a chat with other Sonos owners. What's going on in the world of music and technology? What's playing?

Have a non Sonos question but in reference to AT&T’s fiber optics internet . So I have a house full of Sonos and have no issue with my WiFi. I have AT&T’S fiber optics 500 speed, and I can say it’s been great, which replaced the cox cable that was slow and constant issues. So I just got the AT&T 1000 plan ( only $15 more) and to my surprise, the speed is slower than the 500 speed plan I had. I’m reading others have the same experience. So I’m switching back to the 500 plan. Anyone experience this or know why it would be slower?
I gave my Playbar and Sub to a relative without properly removing them from my system. I now can’t access any rooms in my app, and they can’t setup the speakers I gave them.Do I need to go so far as to bring the speakers back to my home? Suggestions?
I recently bought an album on Bancamp in FLAC format. I cannot play it as the sample rate is too high. All the other FLAC albums I bought at the same time are fine except this one. I have the option of downloading the album again in a different formats including ALAC and MP3 320. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about which would be likely to avoid this problem and would be compatible with Sonos. Thanks in advance.
We really enjoy the Sonos products and our system was working quite well up until 6-9 months ago. There had always been the occasional issues, but about 6-9 months ago these issues have occurred quite frequently. Each week we experience at least one issue, most notably Sirius will not play (unable to browse, or unable to play), and sometimes Spotify stops playing. Our system:Sonos One SL (pair, configured as single units)Play:3Connect:AmpWe’ve gone through all of the suggested troubleshooting flows and nothing seems to make it better. Sometimes reauthorizing Sirius will temporarily resolve that issue, and sometimes ensuring all Sonos controllers across all devices are up-to-date helps, but not always. I am not sure if these issues are related to Sonos, or the the services. Whatever the case we have spent a lot of money on our system, and are (by requirement) giving our data to Sonos, so I do have a basic expectation level that everything work. Just posting this here in case others are
Hi fellow Sonos fanatics. Thought I’d share my recent experience with you all. Some of you may know that I’ve been a long time fan, advocate, supporter, beta tester of Sonos. My default inputs and posts on here are mainly around products reviews or helping others with questions. Well recently I noticed one of my gen2 subs in my dual sub, arc, era300s setup went dead all of a sudden. I’ve tried using other gen2 sub power cords, it just wouldn’t power on. The sub was bought brand new from bestbuy 3 years ago and had been kept indoor never been moved. It is also the set used for beta testing. I reached out to Sonos hoping to get it fixed because I am confident that the issue may be a loose end on the inside of the connection causing the current not going through. The sub is in pristine condition. And fyi I own 7 subs in total from gen1 to gen3 and mini. After a week of multiple communications via phone and email with different levels of Sonos customer support team, they decided t
We listen to local radio stations using Sonos in our dental office. How do we eliminate commercials? There are a few embarrassing commercials while seeing patients?
Thought I would simply share this.My better half & I were discussing a room redesign and the following observation was made“You have a lot of records that are taking up space that we could use, I don’t want you to get rid of them but maybe some of them could go elsewhere and you get them out when you want to listen to them. And, lets be honest, you don’t sit down and listen to them very often and even then it is probably only a small subset as you spend most of your time with the Sonos on”This was fair comment and it got me thinking. These LPs were bought to be listened to and that wasn’t happening, yes of course I could listen via Deezer or other streaming services but somehow that didn’t happen very often and I had to remember that I had the specific LP, and of course never when I was out and about. They were all bought for a reason and in most cases they are still good albums (although one or two make me question my teenager taste).Over the years I have ripped a few of them to F
Ok this feature request has been submitted several times over the past five years or more but as nothing has been done about it I’m raising it again. It is a real pain to have to adjust the volume for each individual speaker every time I select a speaker group. Why are we not able to preset speaker volumes in a group? This seems a simple enough feature to implement. Why is it taking more than five years?I get the sense that Sonos is not listening to its customers. Please tell me at that this obvious and simple feature is at least being considered. Thank you.
Is it possible to purchase new fabric for the front of the Beam (Gen 1)? I have a white one and it's gotten grubby from my toddler's dirty hands
I am not getting anywhere with Sonos support and am wondering if someone here knows someone who can help. I’ve been a Sonos customer since 2007 (I had Controller 100s and ZonePlayers!) and have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of equipment over the years. This is unbelievably frustrating. Apologies for the length, but I want to lay out the entire story. In March of this year I bought two Era 100s, one white and one black. A couple months ago, I started to notice that the grille on the white one had cracks. I’m pretty sure they were not there when I unboxed it: The black Era 100 did not show this issue. The speaker functioned fine, but it was very unsightly and these speakers are expensive, so I thought I should request a replacement under the warranty.I did a support chat (ticket ********) in late September and was told I would be contacted via email. On September 26 I received an email that gave me RMA number RO-****** and a link to process my return, which I did.The same day I rece
Can we get the ability to tune and control the volume of center channel independently (like surround audio) in a 5.1 setting? If we get this feature, we won’t have to turn the volume up just to hear the dialogues clearly. Bose app already offers such feature for their soundbars.
After connecting the sub woofer mini it says “not assigned”
Of course I must not be the only SONOS user who has a setup that prevents me from easily unplugging from AC power. Why isn’t there a reset button in the software? Arcane that I have to unplug from AC power. Is there a way to prove the speakers can’t connect to Amazon Music through the network?
Purchased a pair of arc 100 on 10/6/23. On 10/11/23 I noticed there was a notice that my package was delivered on 10/10/23 by FedEx. They took an unclear pic that it was delivered. I provided Sonos of pics of what my front door looks like, nothing like FedEx pic. I reached out twice and every time it is the same 48 hours to investigate with no follow up, two weeks later 10/22/23 still no response. I have the Arc and subwoofer but this experience is giving me a bad feel for the company. I should have stuck with Bose which is clearly a better product. No wonder the court overturned the case with Sonos vs Apple lol. FedEx uses subcontractor to deliver Sonos products. unsatisfied customer Patrick Townsend
I have had music dropouts since I first got Sonos many years ago and it has been driving me crazy for years. I tried every solution that’s recommended in the community and called Sonos support on the telephone and had no luck. Well, there’s many reasons for dropouts, but mine was simpler than I could possibly imagine. I installed a new TP Link deco X 20 router and that fixed everything. My Sonos is in a wired configuration with a boost connected to the router with an ethernet cable and always has been. I switched from airport extreme last generation router to this new TP Link and that solved it . If you have tried everything else and can’t figure it out maybe try a new router.
HelloI had meant to post this 3 years ago when I upgraded to my iPhone 12. Well the time has come to upgrade to iPhone 15. The best way to move your data (and 99% of settings) from your old iPhone to a new one is to use the Quick Start function. It allows the two iPhones to transfer data directly_Old to New. Here’s a link on the procedure.I also recommend performing a backup to iCloud (if you subscribe to it) or to the HD on your computer. In the world of electronics anything can happen and you’ll want to have a way to restore/retrieve your data just in case things go south during the electronic data transfer. OK...enough of the iPhone tutorial 😊Upon moving your data to a new iPhone you may notice that the app icons are greyed-out at first and later have a “cloud” with a downward arrow to the lower left. That only means that the app is waiting for you to access it to complete the final install on your new iPhone. The final install will occur over hours or days automatically depending
I’ve recently run into some complicated configuration issues with Sonos that required Support help -- we didn’t fix all of it. But as an IT/tech pro, I can see where advanced users might benefit from advanced access to our devices via the CLI. For example, telling my Gen 1 Playbar to bind to a specific SSID when the app (which is BUGGY) can’t manage it. Sonos Support is able to get in to your network and see everything on the proprietary side -- which is handy/cool and a bit creepy. Advanced users should have similar tools. And the disclaimer that “if you mess it up, don’t cry to us” is perfectly acceptable with such tools.
I have a Sonos amp and I want to connect it only to a Sonos five. it's possible? how is it done?
I’m on the latest revision of Sonos iOS app, 15.9 Build 75146030 -- it’s been inconsistent and very difficult to work with. I believe we (Sonos Support and myself) have encountered bugs in how it reaches out to devices, discovers and even in the basic (re)configuration (which can be a royal pain). What is Sonos’s commitment to fixing this and improving the user experience here?
I really enjoy reading other members posts about their Sonos issues especially if it is linked to what I have setup. I learn by it. Other forums allow just a single digest email a day rather than receiving lots of emails throughout the day.I checked the settings but could not see a way of just receiving a single email a day. Is there?
I spend almost $2k on Sonos products and none of them connect to the App. It’s 2023 and there isn’t a simple way to connect. I’m about to get rid of this system. I’ve factory reset and synced my system 10 times and they keep getting deleted or the app keeps telling me to restore factory settings. Once I do, it shows up for 2 minutes then deletes the product. Seriously, why is it so bad?
Update to Sonos app from Apple App Store then IOS17.4 dev beta now the app does not work? Is there a work around to allow Sonos app to work in new iOS beta?
Hi everyone,How can I investigate about the purchase date with a serial number of a Sonos One?Many thanks
Thinking these constant updates are someone’s job security at Sonos…sonos never says what the updates are except bug fixes and performance enhancements. Are we talking changing the highs, lows, volume?? Any reason Sonos doesn’t go into detail on these updates and not use the generic every time bug fixes and performance enhancements. We get more info from Peter Pee on his YouTube videos. Even Apple gives more details and doesn’t have an update every month…
When Sonos announces an update is available…does it usually mean app, speaker update..or both? I don’t see anyway of knowing in advance of doing the update.
