I was looking into a new soundbar recently and had pretty much decided on a Sonos Arc.  On the tail end of my research I came across a post either on this site or on reddit that was talking about how Sonos didn’t support DTS:X or DTS-HD, and while a lot of new BluRay’s are coming with Atmos tracks now, many BluRays still only have a DTS:X or DTS-HD track.  I am in the same boat as I still play a lot of physical media, and just assumed at the Sonos price points they would support every codec under the sun to make it easy on the end user, it just plays everything. As I further researched this I read a lot of comments about how it’s because of a DTS licensing issue?  Is this the official answer?  There was an article on The Verge that said, “Sonos finally adds DTS audio support to its home theater lineup”.  However, when you read the article it says, “Sonos only seems to support standard DTS Digital Surround, so you won’t be able to get the most out of sources that use the higher specced

Hello, what needs to be added to a Sonos system to give you the option of adding a remote control (Roku in this case)?I have 2 Five’s giving me sound from my projector. I through adding a Sub would give me the option to sync with a remote, but not luck. Just making sure I’m not missing anythign before I return the Sub.(happy to see lots of other users requesting Sonos to introduce a physical remote control)

So, I’m thinking about putting together an outdoor theater on my pergola which already has the Outdoor (Sonos) Sonance speakers wired to a Sonos Amp. The last piece of the puzzle is getting a projector and setting it up to work with the Amp and speakers. What I’m wondering is if this is possible using AirPlay 2 completely through WiFi. The projector I’m looking at is either the Samsung Freestyle 2 or the LG CineBeam PF610P.  Does anyone have any advice they might offer?Cheers!

I have an array of S1 compatable speakers and amps. I just purchased a Move speaker (not the Move2) as you can convert it to be compatable with ios S1 app. The problem is the option to downgrade within the app seems to be unavailable at the moment. How can i downgrade the move speaker?I have tried setting up the speaker in S2 thinking i might be able to downgrade it there and then delete the app and seach for the speaker but can’t find the function in the S2 app either.Any help of advice greatly apprciated.

Sonos, did you fire your UX Designer on your most recent update.  It is a horrible.  I’m not sure it even works.  Still trying to get my system working. It’s difficult or impossible to play the same music on all speakers.

I was able to buy a couple of Sonos One and a soundbar why my company moved in a new location and was eager to make them play. I must add that I own a complete system at home and was very happy with it. The was is the key and everything said was before the f%”=)&?/(ç”(&g update the S2 App. I have applied a factory reset to the units and tried to build a new system. Then it quickly turned to a real nightmare.First of all, the Sonos App wants to know your exact location. Except of trying to get a maximum of data about you, I don’t see the point.Then the App was able to find the first Sonos One and tried to connect it to a WiFi network. So far so good but the WiFi network selected was not the one my smartphone was connected to.After many other iterations, I believe (absolutely not sure) my smartphone and the Sonos One were on the same WiFi network. My system has worked fine since the upgrade but this morning I’m unable to connect via the App or manually.I deleted the App and reinstalled but still doesn’t connect, no support available till Monday. 

Can someone help me. I’ve been trying to get through to Sonos technical help but despite being on hold for over 2 hours a number of times I can’t get through.  my sub has stopped connecting - it’s a sub 3 and has a solid white light. The app says it has no network connection - the arc works fine. I’ve tried a factory reset but no joy. Any ideas ? 

I have some audio tracks that I made for a project I’m working on and I want to hear them on my Sonos system. I know that the tracks are fine because I can put them in “Local Files” on Spotify on my iPhone and then play them in my car. But no matter how I export the audio files, the Spotify speaker icon shows my Sonos speakers grayed out with the message “Can’t play this track”. It would be extremely helpful if it actually explained *why* it can’t play the track, but it doesn’t do that. So, what does this message mean and how can I bounce my tracks from Logic Pro so that they will play on my Sonos system? I'm trying to figure out a fully wireless amp and speaker solution. I sent the below to support over 3 months ago and never got a response. I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction and what if any devices sonos sells that I would need to make this work. And if they don't offer what I need, what other company's devices should I look into?This is my desired set up. Unsure if it is possible.:I live in a 3 story home. I have a wired turntable with its own phono pre-amp (among other audio devices) which live on the 2nd floor of my home.Taking just the turntable as an example:- I want to be able to listen to that turntable on the 1st floor of my home.- It is not feasible for me to run physical speaker wires from the 2nd floor down to the 1st floor. I also don’t think a Bluetooth signal will pass reliably from the 2nd floor down to the 1st floor (but maybe it would?). If Bluetooth wouldn't work/be reliable, then I'd be looking specifically for a WiFi solution.- In other wor

Ive just installed a new Sonos Amp. Ive used the Sonos App on IOS to install it and all works ok. Then the app trys to register the amp on my Sonos account and I get an error saying cant connect try later. I have checked my Sonos account and logged in and updated my address and password all seems ok. Any ideas please. Does anyone know if S1 has also dropped the use of SMBv1 in the latest up(down)grade?Obviously we were all told that old devices couldn’t go up to SMBv2 in the old switch to the S2 system and so my Music Library dropped to SMBv1 to match. If the new upgrade has removed SMBv1 from everything, what else do the old S1 systems support that could find shared music? Not really interested in handing my details (and money) to Plex just for this functionality.

I have a sub I got second hand. I'm able to start the process of adding it to my system, but before I can add it, the app insists on updating the device. Every single attempt at updating the device has failed. I get no error codes to work with, and the device is just flashing red.So far I've tried: Updating my system as a whole Reinstalling the app Restarting the device and my router. Plugging in the sub with an ethernet cable (both before the update and mid update) Splitting my network into separate SSIDs for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Assigning a static IP to the sub I've been on the phone multiple times now with Sonos support and still have not found a solution. They've transferred me up to level 2 support but they have no openings in the next few months for a call.Has any one on here run into a similar issue?Does anyone have any other ideas for things I could try?

Apparently the executives of Sonos are frat boy so they don't understand the concept of informed consent. A horrible update was forced upon me without my consent. And now the products that I spent thousands of dollars on are no longer worth a dime. When I made a comment on this forum about that situation someone hid my comment in a much larger multi-page thread without my consent. When I made that comment they also added that comment as one of my favorites without my consent so that now I have to go in and figure out a way to take it off of my favorites so that I will stop getting emails every single time someone else posts a comment on a thread that I had nothing to do with. I posted my own. My own comment was moved so that it would get it hidden and I would still receive email after email after email every time someone else makes a comment in someone else's thread that has nothing to do with me. Informed consent is important in private life and public life and professional life. Hi allI have two CR200 running inside an up-to-date S1 system, it works perfectly.I saw this topic here: It works. These devices are one of the reason, why Sonos split the devices into S1 and S2 devices.I have them running since 10 years, and I always did an update. I just recently had to reset my configuration, and it was a challenge to get them back into the system.When adding the CR200, I found, that one player must be connected with a LAN cable to the router directly.It does not work, if the LAN connected player is behind a bridge (what I normally have). After it is added, there still must be one player LAN connected, but then it can be behind a bridge. I guess this has to do with a network broadcast message, which does not go through a bridge. If anyone is interested in more details, feel free to answer here.

We’re using the API to send playback commands to our Port, and I have noticed that the GROUP_ID is changing at random.My understanding is that the GROUP_ID is the parent which holds playback devices, unique like the HOUSEHOLD_ID.What could ever cause the GROUP_ID to change, and for what purpose, since this causes commands to obviously fail since the resource is no longer available.

went outside to listen to some music on a warm spring day. opened the S2 app and discovered it had been “upgraded”. and it demanded I “sign in” before allowing me to access my own property. After several minutes of trying to work around the thing I finally relented and went down to the basement to look up my Sonos credentials. which the app decided were invalid. This is not the first time I have suffered through one of Sonos’ completely unnecessary and unavoidable updates. So I gots to ask, why would anybody spend more for this intrusive crap than any one of the less expensive systems available?

Hello, i’m looking to buy the Japan set of the Sonos Beam. Japan uses 100v and has 50-60hz. Singapore uses 230v and 50hz. The beam specs are 100-240v, 50/60hz  will it work? also, should i buy the Singapore cable, or should i use an adaptor for the japan plug? 

All the things I used to like about the Sonos listening environment are gone.  Search for an artist, play one song now or add to end of queue.  Seems like all you can do is play an entire album from an artist and not select individual songs.  The thing I always loved about Sonos was that I could sit on my patio and queue up 20 songs and relax.  There seems to be no way to create a playlist on this new app?   I see they’re probably making the app so it relies on the playlists already built in your connected music services.  That’s fine but they better smooth out and advance this new app quickly.   Rating:  F+

I have a new Sony A95L QD-OLED and have connected my arc, sub and 2 1’s.   I use the app and I can only get Dolby multichannel PCM 2.0.   I had an older Sony and could away get Dolby 5.1 with the same set up.   What am I doing wrong? Thanks,  

Looking to understand if there are any issues etc.  Also are there any alternative wifi sub’s that are better and will work with the sonos amp and keff wired speakers? many thanksM
