I am using an old Soundbridge 100 and Zoneplayer 90 system, which Sonos system would give an improvement is sound quality ?
Sonos offers some great architectural speakers.Sonos should also offer a wall-mounting 'Amp Lite' that can drive a pair of architectural speakers. The 'Amp Lite' would be functionally similar to the current Amp, but would have less power output (to suit smaller rooms) and a lower price-point. Does anyone else want one?
Just inherited a pair of Play3’s that I am going to make the rears for my surround sound with my Arc. I MAY be overthinking this. but is there a difference beyond aesthetically in horizontal vs vertical orientation? I have the Sanus floor stands so they can go either way.
The icons in the UI are too small for human fingers. My observation is that many apps suffer this problem and it’s likely an Apple issue (please confirm whether Sonos can code these differently). I suspect this mechanism is also psychological, as it requires a very careful finger touch and brain focus (ie: keep you focused and engaged). Specifically, let’s take a look at an example, the elements at the top of the app: These UI elements are unrealistic for the human hand, at least for casual use. Again, I’ve seen this problem in other apps, and I suspect a larger issue. Feel free to change my mind. Would Sonos please clarify the above? Do you have the ability to override these unrealistically small UI elements?
OK so I have read a lot about this and think i know the answer but im hoping to get some advice on what i can do to make this better. My system currently is as followsSonos amp running two LCR front speakersSonos subThe issue I am having is with some TV shows and movies the Phantom Center voice is just way to low. On other stuff it is fine. I am looking for a way to add basically a center channel to my system to make this better as I don't think anything Sonos has in their offering will work. To me it seems like the simple solution would be for Sonos to offer some settings in the amp for the AMP and other products that would bring out the Voice or maybe other EQs but so far that has not happened and the APP is very basic as i write this. So that leaves me with a couple of options that I can see.1 Buy a HDMI audio splitter and a HDMI 2 way splitter to pull the center audio off the HDMI stream then feed this into a mono amp and into a passive center speaker.2 Toss the Sonos amp and add a
I see quite a few sporadic messages for intermittent connectivity issue between the Sonos Arc & many Samsung TVs. My symptoms seems to be very similar to others where audio completely cuts out and a lot of restarts later, the audio (eARc) is restored. I’ve tried new cables, different AnyConnect settings, varying audio formats and the issue persists. does anyone have a long term fix for these issues? thanks in advance!
Hi all, I have placed my order for the Beam Gen 2 on 2/7/2022. And it is on back order for 2/18/2022. and today 2/23/2022. it still shows back order and my card has not been charged yet. I have gotten word that it should be shipping tomorrow or Friday for me. If their is one thing I have learned from this experience, I should order future Sonos products from my local retail store going forward.
I have a line-in connected from my record player (Audio-Technica AT-LP60) to my Sonos 5. The Sonos 5 is set to autoplay and is in a speaker group. Everything performs perfectly when I use the record player - when I turn the record player on, the source automatically changes over and plays to the speaker group as it should… however, when the record player is not in use and I try to play streaming music to the same speaker group, the line-in source from the record player will interrupt/override the streaming (and play nothing, since the record player is not in use). I have to re-click the streaming service source to get it to play again to the speaker group. It was a minor annoyance at first, but it happens enough that it is becoming a headache. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to fix this and still retain the autoplay/speaker group settings on the Sonos 5 for when I use the record player.
Hello guys I’ve been so happy for weeks since the last upgrade in the Sonos ecosystem that provides support fort DTS, even though it does not accept DTS HD or DTS-X, still it’s very good news for us who love physical media. My current setup is as follows:LG OLED 65 of 2017 ( it does support DTS )Sonos Arc connected to LG through eARC ( Arc+2 Subwofers + 2 Sonos One )Panasonic 4k Blu-Ray player DP-UB9004EG1 connected by HDMI to the TV. Before the Sonos upgrade, I was reproducing my blurays and 4k blurays which don’t have Atmos or Dolby audio using the Xbox and the Dolby application. It does the job, although the sound and picture are not the same as I get using my 4k player. Now everything works fine with the Sonos upgrade, so I can reproduce any movie using my BD 4k Player. I’ve seen again Gladiator and Interstellar and the sound was amazing. The issue I have now is the following. I was thinking in buying a new LG OLED 77 inches series C of 2021, but I read that they don’t support anym
Hello,Is it possible to connect Beam with iMac with a cable Thunderbolt/HDMI ?How does it works? Can I have 5.1 from a blu ray with this system? Thanks
Hi! I’m looking for recommended wired sub that match sonance outdoor speakers. I’ve a Sonos Amp wired to Outdoor Sonance Speakers in my living room so the sub doesn't necessarily have to be outdoor ready, plus I'm looking for an aesthetically pleasing solutionthe sub has to be hardwired because sometimes I connect my mixer and turntables to make DJ sets, otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Sonos Sub (I already have one)thanks in advance for any suggestion
Hi all, Since upgrading to a 2.4/5ghz auto switching router we had issues with our system and not been able to connect to it at all - despite the devices all being visible on the network. The easy fix was to add a sonos boost to the system which fixed the issues with the two sonos ones used as rear surrounds. The amp however remains an issue, the app can find it but it simply doesn't add the device including when connecting via eirhernet. Sonos support have been no help at all with this issue so hopefully the community can provide a fix?
Mac user here. My desktop is an iMac running Monterey 12.2.1. My music library is on a Mac Mini running Sierra 10.12.6 which I have not yet upgraded because it works fine for what it is supposed to do.Anyway, I recently started ripping some new CDs using the program XLD. I now have a folder on my iMac desktop full of FLAC audio files. Using the Sonos Mac app, I have added that folder to my Sonos music library which sees the folder but sees no available files inside that folder. Specifically, when I open that folder it says “No selections are available.” Sonos does see the iTunes and Music libraries on the iMac and Mini and the files within them.So my question is, does Sonos need to be specifically pointed at a library and not just a folder of audio files?thanks in advance for any help/advice,dpc
When the Roam launched there was an issue where, because the way BT Smart Hub worked, it would not join the network. This was due to ‘decision making’ with regard to the 2.4 & 5ghz channels. Allegedly this was resolved. Not so.I’ve continued to have the Roam missing or unable to join Airplay 2, or join & disappear shortly afterwards. I have a Beam which is fine. I’ve spoken to BT help and Sonos technical who knows how many times. They are both still advising to split & rename the two networks. Same solution as 18 months ago. Which a) is an appalling fix & b) won’t work for me because my devices are mixed & need the option of choosing consistent or fast speed I.e Apple TV.I’ve experimented with the Modes & channel banding but this destabilises other speakers & devices. Quite frankly I shouldn’t have to do this. This really isn’t good. OK BT might be partially at fault, but they have issued upgrades designed to mitigate the issue but surely if other Sonos devi
Hello everybody, I am currently upgrading my TV & Music setup with an ARC, which gives me some headache in regards to the surround limitations that come with the ARC. I hope that you guys can help me with your inputs on the options I have to make things work again. As info, I am by no means “audiophile”, but of course appreciate good sound quality. My setup currently currently consists of:Sonos ARC Sonos AMP connected to 2 3rd party rear speakers (Dali Zensor 3) connected to 3rd party active subwoofer (Dali Sub E-12F / RCA connections) connected to record player As a consequence of the subwoofer port and line-in being disabled, the subwoofer and record player are currently not in the system. However, i would love to find a (preferably cheap) way of including both. My options are:Buy a 2.gen connect / port and plug-inthe subwoofer to the audio-out channel. Would that be possible to get into the same room as the ARC and AMP? Will the sound quality of the sub and the other speakers
I was told by sonos support that arc requires 2.4 g wifi (approx 90 mbs) and will not work on 5g. Does that mean that my TCL TV needs to also be on 2.4g, i.e. the same wireless network.if so, this seems like a major limitation, since the TV supports 5g.(approx 400 mbs). I understand 5g is better for 4K streaming, etc. Please let me know if Im missing something.
Does anyone know what the latest March Sonos S2 App Update included? There is no info on the Sonos Website under release notes. Thanks in advance for any answers
Hi, I’m new in the community room. I would like connect all of my “OLD” devices to “NEW” speakers. The reason why I chose the Sonos is the wireless possibilities (no need the audio wire to the rear speakers). Unfortunately Sonos does not the right support, hundreds questions in a community forum are the result.I drew the system I want to have, but I’m in doubt, what Sonos (or other) central unit should I use. Please, can anyone help me and advise the right system setting ? TX a lot.
everything was working great until the new update, now sound quality is crap. Sounds like I connect two cans together with string. I updated the speaker wire to 16 gauge and nothing. I called and they ran diagnostics and said nothing was wrong. Using Martin Logan Motion 2 speakers that were working great until about 3 weeks ago, when I get a notification to update. I’ve factory reset the amp and reset everything.
Hi. I bet this has been covered before but I couldn’t find a definitive answer, so sorry in advance. I have an Arc, play 1 x 2 and a sub. If i watch The Netflix app through Appletv the Sonos app shows multi channel pcm 5.1. When I watch through the Sony tv native app it shows Dolby digital plus 5.1. To my ears the pcm format is quieter and not as crisp as the DD+. Why is the same content on the same streaming service different between the two devices? Thanks.
Can I link 4 Sonos One SL speakers? And in the future, can I add those ones to a ARC bar and sub for a HT?
Hi All,I’m planning a speaker layout for a large screen-in porch (950 sq ft).It would be pretty straightforward to mount 4 outdoor speakers (powered by 1 Amp) high up on some of the posts (please see included image below).Would that sound good though throughout the space? Or do I need the speakers further apart from one another (the posts are 15 feet apart)? Or do I need more speakers for this space?I could figure out a way to do recessed ceiling speakers (4 or 6), but only with more time and expense. I’m okay making the investment if it’s necessary though.I would greatly appreciate some opinions on whether what I’m proposing will be sufficient or if I need to take a different approach.Thank you!
I currently use airplay on iPhoneX to send FLAC files with FlacBox to Sonos. The iPhone storage of 256GB is getting small, so thinking of going with portable music player such as Astell&Kern, but those players don’t seem to have airplay.I am looking for portable player with >=1TB storage, can create FLAC playlists, has decent built in DAC (better than DragonFly cobalt), and can play playlist wirelessly to Sonos (airplay? Any other option?). Any recommendations?I could go with iPhone13, but prefer getting rid of the dongle DAC for headphone listening.
I have a new arc bar all hooked up but when I turn my tv on after a few hours it defaults to speaker then the arc comes in about 5 min later plus , with my cable box plugged into the tv the Sonas app says that I have an hdmi interference issue .i then have to disconnect the cable box hdmi then the sonas plays then I can hook back up the box Do I always need the app up and running when I use the bar ?
