Hello everyone, I’m building a home system that would integrate my TV and turntable, as well allow for streaming. I’d also like it to work over WiFi and be expandable (i.e. with a future multiroom setup), so I’m looking at the Sonos Amp. The idea is to run hook up both my TV and turntable, to just 1 amp (using the available line-in and HDMI ports) and my existing pair of bookshelf speakers, but I can’t seem to find anywhere how it does input switching. Can it detect when I’m playing a record or turning on my TV? Or do I set it up for 1 thing only and then have to go through endless menus every time you want to change my audio source? Also, can I then add wireless Sonos speakers to this setup without adding more Sonos Amps? Thanks for any advice on this!
I have a Beam (gen1) under my TV, i also have projector which is near the sofa. Without running a long spdif cable to the beam there is no other way to get sound to come out of the the beam from the projector. if i were to buy a second beam and place it under the projector and connect it using the spdif cable. Then using the app to group the beam under the projector with the beam under the TV. will i still get 5.1?i know this is a long way around but will it work?
Hi,I have a PC connected to a videoprojector, and I want to link it remotely to a Ray soundbar. Can I use a Sonos Port connected to the PC, which will then link up with the soundbar ?Thanx !
Feature:Would be great to have a reminder function in the app for user to bing the Sonos Move back in the house, e.g. an alarm that goes off if the Sonos Move is not back on the charger at a set time like 1amRationale:I do have the Sonos Move for round about 3 months. However, I already forgot the Sonos Move 3- 4 times outside on the terrace of my house. Once of course in pouring rain all night long - all good. A Friend mentioned the same is happening to him.Forgetting the Sonos Move outside Seems to happen when enjoying this great piece of equipment.
Hi there. We privately sold our Sonos Bridge and Play 1 speaker yesterday but have not unlinked these products from our account. Can anyone help with any instruction on how best to go about fixing this oor will we have to ask the buyer to return so we can reconnect to our WiFi system?
Does anyone know if you can use a Sonos beam gen 2 with a technics receiver and a woofer on a Samsung q70. Thanks
I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly which Sonos AMP I need to buy.I have 2 outdoor speakers on the pool deck and want to stream spotify music to them using the sonos app on my iphone.I ordered a Sonos Connect S2 Modern device off ebay and it didn’t work.Other than the new $700 AMP, is there a previous version that could do this?I’m new to Sonos and can’t figure out Connect vs Connect:AMP vs Media Streamers vs New AMP.
My Sonos system suffers from the Controller being slow to start, I mostly use Android on tablets, usually three different ones, and all have the same symptom. When waking the Sonos app from sleep or starting it if not running, it takes 20 to 30 seconds to populate the screen and before any action can be performed. Here (diag below) I rebooted my Samsung S6 Lite and started the Sonos app. I’d left it to show the System / Rooms page where the problem is most obvious. It populates the screen with a random room, then adds the others over the next 22 seconds. They appear in what looks to be a random order and with the Room tiles initially overlapping in the display. During the population process the “active” Room bar appears on-screen but the Play button is not functional. At first appearance it isn’t even active, tapping it has no effect. If tapped a bit later it switches to show it has been tapped but still isn’t functional. Waiting a bit more it will change to Play or Pause and the selecte
i want to be able to use a wireless microphone with my Sonos AMPwhat kind of setup do i need please? any recommendations
I don’t have many complaints about my Beam, but one thing I’ve found really frustrating is that night mode turns on and stays on indefinitely with no indication outside of the app. It’s very infrequent that I interact with the app so have found on more than one occasion that after using night sound on an evening, I’d forget to turn it off and it can take me a while to realise why the sound is so sub-par over the next few days. This is particularly apparent with my older parents who also have a Beam. They are less attuned to the audio balance and so end up leaving night sound on accidentally and compensating by boosting the volume. It’s usually accidentally left on for weeks unless I notice when I visit them. The fix for this seems fairly simple. Toggling night sound on should (I think) by default timeout the next morning (perhaps with a long press to override). This way night sound mode would automatically disable the next morning so there’s no need to go in and re-adjust settings, i.e. “
I have four Apple TVs. One is connected to a Sonos Beam, one uses the speakers in the television, and two are connected to Sonos Playbars. Two of the Apple TVs use the new Siri Remote — one connected to a Playbar, the other to the Beam. Yesterday, July 29, both remotes ceased to control the volume on their connected Sonos products (Playbar and Beam). The remotes continue to control functions like power and navigation on the Apple TV, but not the volume. The Apple TV that is connected to the Playbar, but uses the older style remote continues to function properly. The only thing I can deduce is that for some reason, the newer remotes are no longer sending a compatible IR signal to the Sonos Beam and Sonos Playbar. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
I just purchased a Move for my outdoor living area and noticed it required S2 Controller. My Home theatre system currently has a SUB (Gen2), Playbar, and 2 x Sonos One SL. I am using an Bridge and i have a old Connect that I am not using in my new home. Sonos is offering me trade in credits on the Bridge, Connect and the Playbar (even though the Playbar will still be supported on the S2)2 questions. First, Bridge to Boost upgrade? Yes or no? I have read the articles about connecting directly to my WiFi versus using the Bridge and creating a Sono separate network.Second, They had recommended that i upgrade the Playbar and are offering the credit, if i upgrade what would be the upgrade? they have 3 sound bars (Ray - Beam and Arc) my thinking is the Arc would be my upgrade for a home theatre system i have using the Sub and the 2 One SL’s?
I am using Roon with my main Hi Fi system and was thinking of buying a Play 5 for the dining room and wondered if it is possible to stream to the Play 5 from Roon ?

Hey guys truly supernew to this forum. But i throw out a question. I’m building and extension and want to have nice sound in the rooms. Thinking ceiling speakers in the rooms and a woffer and a bar in the livingroom to make the movies come to life. Using the ceiling ones as back speakers. Any toughts? Thanks!
Hi teamI recently bought a Beam Gen 2 but have noticed that when watching Disney+ content via the app on my TV that content does not play the audio as Dolby 5.1 even though the show or movie says it supports in in the details tab. Standard broadcast TV and Prime plays in 5.1 but not Disney+.Has anyone else encounter this or know how to rectify it?
I’ve got an outdoor space that we recently expanded. Right now I’ve got two speakers (NHT O2-ARC’s if it helps) running in Dual Mono Mode but with the new space three speakers would fit better. I could fit 4, but it really feels like overkill. Will running three speakers long-term from the Sonos Amp cause any problems with uneven volume from the speakers, longevity concerns for the Amp itself due to uneven load across the channels, or anything else I might not be thinking off? Thanks everyone!!
Hi! We are building a custom home and need help choosing between the following setup options. Our plans and drawing of the fireplace/TV are at the bottom of my comments.Arch + two in-wall speakers in the rear with an amp. 5.1 setup with architectural speakers. Center speaker would have to be above the fireplace and below the TV. 2 in wall speakers (right+left with no center) around the fireplace wall with two in-wall speakers in the back wall.Notes/questions:-The two rear speakers in the back wall will be located above the cased opening to the kitchen.-Our fireplace wall is streamlined so I worry the Arc would be a little bit of an eye sore.-Our great room has 14 foot ceilings. Is this too high for Arc?-Would we receive the same audio quality with options 1 and 2?-Would it be too much (too many speakers) if we added two in ceiling speakers in the kitchen? Or do you think the system in the great room would suffice? Thanks in advance for your input!Amanda
Hi all,I can’t seem to get my Ray via the app to recognise my Hitachi TV remote so that I can adjust the volume (the remote still only adjusts TV speaker volume). When setting up (volume up x3) the Ray flashes, but the app says it can’t detect a remote and I can’t find a set up/ help guide to fix the issue.I’d appreciate any ideas! I’m using the hitachi TV alongside an Apple TV. Thank you so much.
Hi all - I have a Connect and currently have it set up to receive audio form my turntable’s preamp and then output to two active speakers, it sounds lovely. I have a headphone amplifier and DAC set up to listen to audio from my PC, laptop or whatever I connect to the DAC and want to see if I can somehow listen to the “line in” from there. My question: has anyone found a way to stream the audio from a Connect or Port to a laptop or PC? Kind of a reverse set up. I would like to listen to my vinyl using my headphones sometimes rather than having to listen through speakers. My desk set up is not too near my connect so it would require a lot of RCA cable to connect the output of the connect to my headphone amplifier.
We recently purchased a new home with ceiling speakers already installed. In order to get them working do we need do purchase and amp?
I have both sonos one and play one using S1 app and has been working fine until recently. Cannot use spotify in S1 app as it is saying I need to update app for it to work - link then wants me to update to S2 app despite the play 1 being incompatible. I am left being unable to use spotify for my system which is what I mainly use it for.I have reset apps, deleted and downloaded, restarted system but no joy. Anyone have any tips?
How to fix this?
We have a job that requires 4 in-ceiling Sonance AS38RS Speakers. Another zone would have 2 Sonance AS38RS Speakers.I just want to know will a Sonos Amp be able to handle 2 or 4 of these speakers or should we use a passive amp and Sonos port?AS38RS Impediance is 10 ohms nominal; 8 ohms minimum (100W max) each
I have an Arc plus two Ones and a Sub to form a surround system. I’ve noticed that TruePlay completely reduces the surround levels making way too quiet. Even turning them up +5 or so doesn’t sounds right. It’s a small room but it sort of defeats the purpose of having surround if you can barely hear it. Turning off TruePlay and manually setting the surround distance to “2 to 10 feet” adds all the ambience back. Anyone else experience this?
