My system is lagging horribly but only when I play music
How do I factory reset a play 5
I just want to remove a Play:1 from my S1 Controller, and then add it to my S2 Controller. It seems that would be a rather common procedure, but I cannot find it either online within Sonos or on third-party sites.
Purchased a “NIB” Play:3 via Ebay and attempted to connect to my existing system of five (working) Play:1s. Out of the box, the Play:3’s LED flashes white and the mute button flashes green. My mobile device is a Pixel 4XL running an up to date S2 controller app. The app will find the Play:3 and can identify the unit’s serial number, but pressing/holding the mute button does not connect the Play:3 to the existing system. I went through the normal troubleshooting steps (cabled to the router, device w/in 3’ of speaker and router), and never got a green LED.Per the Sonos guides, I performed a reboot, and a factory reset. While holding the mute button during the reset, the LED flashed white 5x, a longer 6th flash, another 4x white flashes, orange 16x, then back to white flashes.Started a chat session with Sonos support, went through the same troubleshooting steps with the agent (reboot, factory reset 3x with the same LED behavior as above), and their determination is a hardware failure. I’ve had my house system for 3 years with no issues. Now, for whatever reason, I’m finding always the same three rooms at the same time will drop sound then come back on. This happens when watching a YouTube video . My internet hasn’t changed, have good speed. Attached is a drawing ( rough sketch ) of where all the speakers are located including router , modem , and Boost. Rooms 1,2,3 are the issue. Any ideas? This did not start till last update( app and firmware).
Can you please help my play 1 has dropped out when I try and contact it goes to lounge 2i have all my other speakers in lounge 1 so I try to add it in Fix surround it will not let me put it with the other speakers can any one please 🙏 help
My sonos isn't working and it says not connected to the WiFi. But It is. I've had nearly 4 hours on the phone with 4 different sonos advisers and no joy. Anyone got any ideas please
Hello all,Over the last weeks I started having problems with my Sonos system.I have 3 separate rooms defined:[a] Play:1 stereo pair [b] Play:1 stereo pair [c] Play:3 stereo pair + Sub + PlaybarEvery room by itself seems to work fine. But when I start to group rooms, for example [a] + [b], two problems occur:One of the speakers in one of the pairs goes mute/silent (this one is pretty consistent). When I ungroup, it goes back to work perfectly fine in stereo with the other speaker in the pair. The rooms go out of sync between each other by fraction of a second (this one seems random for now, or it goes out of sync in time). All components are fully updated, all components are on S2. I have a very stable and fast network connection and each speaker is not further than 7m away from the wifi router. I haven’t seen any such problems at any time in my 8+ years with Sonos…Any ideas? Is it a known issue(s)?BTW, is there any kind of “factory reset” for Sonos units, especially the ones I own?Thank
I have a 5 connected by line to turntable. Can I also connect to my sonos system?
bought a used speaker. When I got home and plugged it in it just starts flashing red. I have read that it’s due to not being connected for over 30 mins. As soon as powered on it starts flashing red. I have tried unplugging waiting 10 sec then plugging back while holding the mute button. Doesn’t do anything tried multiple times. Tried connecting straight to router with Ethernet cord can’t get it to do anything either. Took it apart and tried seeing if any burn marks on board it all looks good. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi.I gave my daughter my Sonos 5 for her to use but she’s unable to connect to her WiFi.She has tried everything that’s been suggested but still no success. She has even gone back to factory reset but with no joy. All she gets is ‘router not found’ even with an Ethernet cable. What is she doing wrong please?
Why is your s/w so bad? I have 3 sonos1. I just bought 3 sonos sl. I connected one of the sonos sl and now I don’t see the sonos 1 on my app on my iphone. I just see the new sonos sl. what happened to the other 3 sonos 1 and why I cannot see them? Also, I have the reverse problem on my mac, where I see the sonos 1 devices but not the new sonos sl device. Fix this **stuff**! Who has the time to trouble shoot your crappy s/w after paying premium price for these devices?*Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*

Any help on what seems like a now dead Zoneplayer S5?I was using my Zoneplayer S5, and decided to click the Upgrade option for my System on the Sonos.com website. When I saw the 30% discount from a regular price wasn’t enough to attract me to upgrade, I decided not to upgrade. The next time I went to use my Zoneplayer S5, the lights were off, and I can’t get the unit to respond with any light. I have replaced the cable, and tried a factory reset, but I have not experienced the result expected. Does anyone if Sonos.com has a user agreement, currently or past Sonos, that had terms that allowed Sonos or its agents to artificially turn off or disable Sonos devices at their discretion or under conditions like an EOL? Wondering if Sonos Director, Corporate Counsel, Rebecca Schuster, or Sonos Chief Legal Officer, Eddie Lazarus, might be able to shed some light on the above question on the user agreement.I just want my Zoneplayer S5 to work like it did right before I clicked that upgrade butto
As per the title - I’ve had three One SL speakers connected and grouped, working fine for several months now. A couple of days ago one of the three just stopped putting out any sound - the app thinks it is playing through that speaker but nothing. I have spent several hours troubleshooting; I have dis/reconnected (no trouble connecting it to the network although it won’t play the chime so I have to input the serial number manually) and also installed the update that was available - although it definitely stopped working BEFORE I installed the update. Unsure what else to do! I’ve run a diagnostic on it and have that number, but my phone is unable to make calls at the moment due to tower upgrades, and Sonos never seems to have representatives available to chat (only the bot) so I don’t seem to be able to get help from them. Please if anyone has ideas let me know! ETA - I have tried using both spotify and the sonos radio as sound sources, and both work fine on the other two speakers still
I managed somehow to connect1 Five, but not the other one. I can not add products. Function does not react tompressing
After using my Sonos system for several years, I am still having issues with connection to Fabel audio book service. I was actually in contact with support about the exact same thing around three years ago, but nothing was ever resolved...so I kind of gave up 🤷♂️ Since then I've had three different phones with the same issues on all of them. The issues varies and on some days you might be able to play simply by retrying severaltimes. On other days, like today, the service is completely useless via the Sonos app and I am unable to play books for my kids.Playing them via the Fabel app has no similar problems as far as I have ever seen, but unfortunately it is not possible to play the books on the Sonos system with this app, similar to what you can do on Spotify. When playing an audio book from Fabel in the Sonos app, there is a notification popping up saying there is an issue with the the connection to Fabel. Some times the entire book is "unavailable" and some times only certain chapter

okay folks… a bit of a mystery for me.I have a Sony turntable connected to my Play 5. It worked perfectly for a year, but now there is no sound coming from the speaker. I haven’t changed any physical connections at all, however I did change my wifi router near the time this became an issue. But that shouldn’t make a difference I wouldn’t have thought… after all, my turntable is wired to the Play 5. Now there was a period of a couple of weeks where everything was working fine, but now the sound has disappeared again. Of more curiousness, I have just grouped my Play 5 to my Move… and when I play my turntable, there is no sound coming from the Play 5 but there is from the Move… so the signal is getting into the Play 5, but then nothing. When I play digital music, the Play 5 works perfectly fine. Bit of a mystery to me, any ideas? Again, have not changed any wired connection between the turntable or the Play 5… and when grouped with another sonos product, it proves the music is getting fr
I need help adding my Play5 back onto my S-1 controller. I have a play 1 ; play 3; one; and a move all connected and working fine. Up until a few days ago, my play 5 was also connected. I finally did a reset on the speaker and when I try to add this back in, there is a message that I need to update the controller. Last time I did this I ended up with S-2 and nothing worked. My S-1 app is running Version 11.5. My devices are all ver 11.4. I don’t know what the play 5 was running. Help, any suggestions?
Our SL One was working perfectly until it showed up yesterday with a spanner symbol in the app and stated the speaker needed to be updated. We went through all the options. Unplugging. Resetting the router. Doing the update over and over. With absolutely no joy. I have just tried to set the speaker back to factory settings by switching off and holding the button at the back till the light flashes orange & white, but no green light and it has been in that state for about 15 mins. When the update would not complete, we were receiving an error 1, but there is no such error specified on any of the forums. Any suggestions how we get this speaker back up and running in our system as it was on Wednesday night?
The topic was closed and I’m opening it again, by starting a new thread. As mentioned in Part I of this line, I replaced a bunch of capacitors, which were bulging.Notably C27881 now has 25V at its pins, butC27840 only has 11.60V… Is this normal, or should it also be 25V? I had given this project a break for a while, and while before, I only had low volume, now the light doesn’t come on anymore and neither WiFi nor Ethernet connects… almost seems like back to square one. Except that I seem to have proper voltages everywhere ( except maybe C27840).
Hi, I have 2 Sonos Play:5 (gen 1)I have tried resetting both today, the first worked as advised. The second system, which is exactly the same, will not reset despite following all advice found online. I have tried to hold down the mute button while plugging in the power cable and holding as worked for the other speaker but this does not appear to work. Please could you advise? thanks,Sam
Listening to music today post 14.8 in my cabin one the Play 5 and sub and wondered what had happened. Had tru4eplay on and it normally sounds fantastic. Now there is no bass at all. Turned the sub up to level 6 and still barely any bass. Then turned off the sub and the bass returned! How does that work? Re-ran trueplay and no difference. So basically the sub is now useless and tuning it on turns off the bass. Diagnostic 1161840239.
