Static/Whirring sound on Sonos One

I recently bought a Sonos One and Ive noticed that it has a static-like sound. It’s not very loud but noticeable when quiet, it is more noticeable when activating the speaker. The best way to describe the noise is almost like a hard drive sound.

Is this considered normal or should the speaker be entirely silent at all times?

Seems unusual, and makes me wonder if it is getting some sort of electrical or wifi interference .

I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of hearing this ‘noise’, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and network.
