I have had two Sonos Play 1 speakers for maybe four years old in my office, synced and playing together for a long time. Today, all of the sudden one of the speakers was off-line and I cannot seem to get it to connect again - it is the strangest thing. I have pressed all the different reset button configurations, I have plugged it into the Ethernet, I have put it right next to the router, I have let it sit unplugged for three hours, I have restarted my phone, nothing seems to be working. Any ideas??
Unplug all Sonos devices, working or not, from power. Reboot your router, and wait a couple of minutes, then plug back in the Sonos. Wait a couple more minutes for them to boot up, and test again.
Thank you for the speedy reply, Bruce! I will try that and revert back.
So I did as you instructed, Bruce, and the speaker is still not responding. The speaker that was working previously, worked right away. The other thing that’s interesting is when I press the play button and the down volume I get the tone, but the flashing amber and white lights never come on. It’s like something is failing within the speaker….. I’m really perplexed by this whole thing.
Then I’d suggest that you call Sonos Support directly to discuss it. Normally speaking, what I suggested would address about 80% of the issues that might be run into, but it’s not 100%, for sure.
When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and network.
Sounds good, thank you!
Don’t thank me until you figure it out ;)
I’m guessing there may be a fault with your PLAY:1, but there’s no sure way I can test that….but the folks at Sonos can likely do so.
