Hi - my existing system is a Bridge, a Sonos 5 (version 1) and 2 of Play One (gen 2). Running on S1 controller as the 5 isn’t supported under S2.Cannot get a Play:1 to connect. Tried via WiFi and hard wired direct into Router and back of Bridge - no go.If I reset controller (on multiple devices - phone and PC) then select “new system” it finds the new component (only when hard wired) - the Play:1 and it works OK BUT the original 3 components are not seen. If I remove the ethernet cable to the Play:1, reset controller, it then finds the original components and all works as usual. In summary, adding Play:1 only works when hard-wired, and only by itself. It actually stops the original 3 components being recognised. All thoughts welcomed!
Like many people my age (74), I have age related hearing decline mostly in high frequencies. I have Sonos one speakers, usually driven by an iPhone or iPad. I find that neither the Apple equalizer or the Sonos equalizer together make speech interpretable. Any suggestions? Music is fine, but listening to speech on movies or TV is not. There is a large market out there of people in my situation. Are there any Sonos speaker said have more intense high frequencies? So far, the cheap speakers in my television seem to work the best but I can only get the high frequencies so high. I've used PSAP (hearing aids you dispense yourself) and they all have adequate high frequencies. So I know it's physically possible. I hate to put on a hearing aid just to watch TV since I'm the only one watching. Any suggestions?
Hi, I’m pretty sure I know the answer to this already but just wanted to double check. I would love to be able to use a single symfonisk picture frame speaker as a normal TV speaker, playing out the audio from my freeeview box, fire stick etc.I don’t think it’s possible, is it. But is there any clever way at all?(my set up is that I have a projector and a sreen that comes down from the ceiling. All of my AV equipment - xbox, sky box, etc, is in a little fake fireplace thing directly beneath it and the symfonisk picture speaker would cover it all and conceal it absolutely perfectlty.)
Good evening all,I'm literally at my wits end with my Sonos setup now, we have just upgraded our WiFi router which caused huge issues with out sonos setup. Thankfully this afternoon I have managed to get everything working as it was prior to the router change. However my wife had just tried to play music in two room. She simply tried to add the Move into the main livingroom group so that the same music was playing throughout just as she has done 100s of times. The app shows the action was completed successfully and that the audio output is playing in both zones however its not. The music will play on whichever device you have as a primary source but the group being added just remains silent. We have reset everything but with no luck. Does anyone have any advice or ideas on what's causing the problem. Thanks in advance
Hi All, I use Play:1 for few years and Beam (gen2) for about year. Both are on same network connected via RJ45 with disabled wifi. Play:1 has internet access as I am using it for internet radio. For beam I have limited internet connection in router and enabled it only on occasion when there was update pending. Beam is only used for TV so internet access is not needed. So far all was working with no problems. After recent update I have noticed that Beam is showing as not connected in app. Usual router/ speaker reboot didn't solve it out.I have noticed that if I give internet access to Beam it will show in app again. So far internet access was required for online services and updates but I still was able to see speaker in app, change options, play music from local NAS. How is working now it means if we loose internet for any reason we not be able to play local music, change volume/settings, so system become useless. Why do i need internet to switch on night mode for example? Chat with Sono

I have tried most sugggestions, in particular plugged in the five via ethernet, but still, the update trial from my Android phone fails with Error 1101. I checked the web interface and see SoftwareVersion 40.5-49090 SoftwareDate 2018-01-09 18:10:26.408313 SoftwareScm 371223 MinCompatibleVersion 39.0-00000 LegacyCompatibleVersion 25.0-00000 HardwareVersion 1.13.1.8-1
I'm using a Sonos Five and Pro-ject T1 phono Sb turntable but when I go to use it no music will play unless I unplug the aux chord and turn the power off at the wall and then reconnect. Unplugging and plugging the chord back in doesn't work by itself. If I unplug the chord after every use still doesn't help.
I have had a Sonos surround system comprising Arc, Sonos One SL, and Sub. Recently I purchased another Sonos One for a different room. All these products are connected via wifi. I go through the setup process and add the new Sonos One. But say after a day or two, the iphone Sonos app indicates that Sonos One is “not connected” and I have to repeat the whole connection sequence again including factory reseting Sonos One. I update the iphone Sonos app, disabled Private Wifi as some other community post suggested but this loss of connection keeps happening repeatedly over past couple of weeks. Any pointers on what could be wrong here? Thanks
Should Sonos make a computer speaker with subwoofer sound like 5.1
Simple system: We have two Sonos Ones in separate rooms/zones, but the app will only recognize one at a time, not both simultaneously. It used to, just trying to get it back. Same router for both, same Sonos profile and app. Any tips appreciated, thanks. Ferris.
I currently building a pool house and I’m trying to decide if 2 exterior speakers will be sufficient or if I need 4. The area I’m trying to provide sound to is approximately 40’ long by about 44’ deep. The 40’ section is the length of the pool house where the speakers will be located. Below is a layout of the setup.
Hoping someone can help here. I have a Sonos system of 7 speaker (3 x OneSL/Play1, 1 x Five, 2 x Beam, 1 x Move) plus a Boost that I’ve put together over a number of years. Never had any issues (apart from teething problems with the Move) - and the system has served us well. Now suddenly connection to the speakers is flaky, sometimes they show as disconnected, sometimes they are not even listed in the app. . I’m finding this very frustrating, as are my daughters cos Dad can’t seem to fix it! I,ve power cycled all speakers and even followed the steps in the app to fix the issues but still keeps happening! This has been ongoing for about a week now - no issues before that,Attached pictures show the various states of the system app in the space of around 10 minutes this evening
I purchase a new Sonos One SL to add to an additional Sonos One SL. My existing One SL connects via Airplay just fine to all my Apple Devices. The new One SL will not connect to any of them. How can this be fixed?
Anyone know what I can do about cracking audio in a room just my Sonos One?
Bought second hand a Sub and did the factory reset, with the Ethernet cable I managed to finally get the Sub connected to my system but it will not function until I link it to my account. However no matter what I do I cannot get it to connect to my account. Why? What's the trick, what am I missing here?
I would love to know if anyone has their speakers stuck updating after the latest upgrade to 14.20. It’s been like this for a few days now and just frustrated, not knowing what to do.
I have had my Sonos system for five years. Over that period it has gone from working properly 10% of the time I try to use it to now, about 75%. If I get another cannot find your system or reboot your router or move my speakers closer to my router message l will scream. I have reinstalled at least 50 times . I fantasize about burning my speakers in a backyard fire and posting the video. Today is a perfect example. A nice quiet Sunday am and wanted to put on quiet classical piano with our coffee. We had the system playing holiday music yesterday, working fine. Today, it cannot find my system/speakers. I have a house with a very effective wireless router that reaches all corners of my home including my office in the furthest corner where I am on zoom calls via wireless all day long. My two speakers are, one, in the same room as my router and one in adjacent room. I am so done with this unreliable piece of ** *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
Hi everyone,I'd like some advice on how best to connect two Play 5 (gen1) as a stereo pair in our garden house. This garden house has an Access Point (connected to our router via WLAN in our main house) that allows WLAN connection and wifi connection.Do I need to connect both speakers via a WLAN cable or can one speaker function as a router for the other speaker? What should I then do with the wifi on each speaker?
Hi.I have a pair of play 5 2nd gen speakers and I seem to notice one speaker sounds more vocal than the other. The other sounds duller less treble.Im on Amazon music with ultra hd.Done all the trueplay etc.Is it normal? Atmos or something. Thanks
New issue with the Sonos system today which is confusing me. Initially the system didn’t show in the app, so switched off the boost and disconnected from router. Switched back on and reconnected. The system then showed in app, set to play music from Apple Music. Music played on roam but not on my one even though it said it was playing in app. Went through the usual routine of switching off and on the effected “One”. Started playing - great but then tried to widen the group and each time same thing, showed in app as playing but no audio, switched off and on and unit starting playing. Played for a while and then dropped out - same issue system is boost, beam, 4 ones and a roam all running on S2 app latest version with 14.2 firmware on all units. any ideas?? Bug in firmware?? as system played perfectly up until today..
One of my Sonos One speakers came unplugged and when I plugged it back in it no longer is paired. What do I do to get it paired with the other speaker again?
Hello,I am operating a Sonos S1 system with 10 speakers in 8 rooms. The music plays in party mode (i.e., all rooms connected). Everything works fine. I now added a turntable through the line-in of a Play5 (gen 1). Mostly, this works fine. However, often the sync between the rooms breaks down and the music only play on the two speakers and a bass booster that are connected to one pair in the room, in which the turntable is connected to one of the speaker. After a while, the other rooms pick up the music signal, but then loose it again.I wonder whether it is too much bandwidth for the Play5 to simultaneously SEND a signal from the turntable to the system and to RECEIVE a signal from the system. Would the set-up be more stable if I were to purchase a Sonos Port and feed the turntable signal into the system with it (obviously, I would prefer not having to do that, as it involves extra cost)? Is there a way to stabilize my system so that playing music coming from a turntable in multi-room m
Within Sonos 2 application, one can create groups of speakers or groups of rooms playing the same music, and give them a name. But once created, you cannot “modify” them. All you can do is create new groups with the + button, but why can’t we modify them, once created ? Thanks for assistance.
Hi. I am using a pair of KEF Ci160qr Ceiling Speaker on the Sonos Amp. At low volume the sound is good enough. But the sound gets highly distorted at high volume. I have just used the default settings on the Sonos Amp. Can anyone let me know, what the best settings for this combination. Thanks in advance.
