Can I use a 20 watt apple usb c charger to charge roam or could it damage it?

Hi I’ve purchased a new Mac Mini with M1 and Big Sur.  I keep all my music on an external HDD.  This worked fine on my old Mac Pro running High Sierra (and still does).In Big Sur on the M1 Mini :iTunes uses the music library in ~\Users\[User Name]\Music\Music\Music Library.musiclibrary My actual music files are in \Volumes\Data\iTunes\Music, which is an external HDD titled “Data”.In the Sonos app, I added “My Music Folder” in “Music Library Settings”.  Seems to work, but when I attempt to play a playlist I get the following type of error message when I look into the console app://Mini Server/Music/Volumes/Data/iTunes/Music/Artist/Album/Song.mp3  failed. Error (404, 0x80000002) As you can see, there appears an error in the file name as it appears to concatenate the file location of the iTunes music library “//Mini Server/Music” and the actual location of the file “Volumes/Data/iTunes/Music/Artist/Album/Song.mp3”.  Naturally, there is no such path.  This issue does not exist when running

I have two Sonos 5s, a Sonos one and a Beam. They are set up in a system.  The Beam is also connected to a TV. The Wi-fi system delivers a fast system … up to 200 mbps.  The Beam is very close to the router (within a foot)Every so often the beam drops out and the sound reverts to the tvAny thoughts or suggestions? 

Hi,I have 3 rooms with Sonos downstairs in my house (1 x Beam + 2 x One, 1 x One, 1 x Roam). The system itself always works fine, never had any drop out and Alexa always works. The app however constantly loses connection to the system and reconnects intermittently.I did discover recently however that if I go to the furthest corner upstairs the app connects instantly and is stable.I have tried the standard off/on again on my router and every Sonos device, but no difference. I also tried the app on IOS and android devices and it is the same on both.I don’t have anything obvious that would be interfering with the signal downstairs, and as it’s the app not the Sonos system that is cutting out I’m at a loss! It does seem to have got worse since I purchased the Roam.Any suggestions appreciated! Cheers.

Hi,I have a question. I just installed a Sonos Beam in my leaving room. Works well but I already had two Sonos Play 5 paired to play music that I wanted to use them as surround speakers as well. Unfortunately, when I go in the app and try to set up the surround options, the only choice I have is for Play 1 that are in other rooms but no option to choose the two Play 5.any advice on how to do this?thank you!

Just bought a Sonos Roam and unable to play my tabata app without using Spotify. Can anyone recommend an app that will play on its own. Thanks. 

Hi all had the Roam very pleased however I can get it to transfer the music it is playing to the nearest speaker I have two beams but are  connected to play 1 which are not supported is that my problem.Also I have a iPod classic 1tb which I was hoping I could use a Bluetooth transmitter to Roam but the ones I have are older and will not link is there a version Bluetooth transmitter needed the highest I've seen is  3.1 or is the fact with a phone you have a visible named connection to link with, I'd love to try the more expensive Bluetooth transmitter for iPod but at £80 reluctant to spend that much as it's only the Roam I want it to really work with cheers Phil.

Hi. Picked up my roam last week and I keep it constantly on my Qi charger. I ask Alexa to play music for maybe 20 mins every weekday and longer on weekends (remotely). ‘Will I degrade the battery/reduce the life expectancy’ of the Roam if I keep it constantly sat on a Qi charger in standby mode?I have read conflicting answers to this question, but is there somebody from Sonos who can provide an accurate answer. Thanks

Hello all - new to the community, and relatively new to Sonos, and I am looking for assistance. I have a group set-up in my living room consisting of a Playbase (connected by ethernet to a TP-Link powerline wifi adapter), a Sub (Gen 2) and two One SLs. All works perfectly with TV and streaming music Apple/Spotify etc) in standard resolution. I wish to stream hi-res music on this group - either Amazon HD or Quobuz - as I am impressed by the difference in audio clarity. I find that when I stream either of these services (through Sonos app), the first song plays, and then skips the last 8 seconds of the song and jumps to the next. Then, by the second or third song of the playlist, the music just comes through the Playbase (which has the ethernet connection) and the other speakers no longer play. If I skip back to the start of that particular track, then I get full surround again, but the whole problem happens again by the time of the next song.Having read a bit on the web and in this foru

Hi I have set up a split S1 & S2 Sonos instance , and have my old incompatible play 5 only on the S1 app however there appears to be a problem adding another controller app ……  from an extra device you cannot seem to detect the speaker on the second app …… it worked fine until a couple of weeks ago but i dont seem to be able to get it working now …..any clues ???

Hi - I’ve been using the above combination, and only have a few hours listening to the Roams as a stereo pair. The battery life has seemed pretty poor, but after leaving them overnight on the Livboj chargers starting at about 30% charge, this morning both were dead with no charge. The amber light was flashing, showing a charging fault. I’ve charged them for the past 4 hours on USB, and they’re now showing 49%. I’m resuming wireless charging which seems to be working for now.The Livboj is rated at 5W, the same as the Sonos charger, and I’m using them with an IKEA Askstorm 40W charging brick. They are both sitting perfectly centred on the charging pad.Has anyone had similar experiences or can anyone explain why they’re charging so slowly if at all?  Thanks.

My issue is about how Sonos alarms handle not being able to connect to a music service, which is that is falls back to the chime sound. Here’s why it’s a problem….In my case, I'm using Sonos boxes for the music in our coffee shops, via Soundtrack Your Brand, a commercial music service Sonos supports.What I've had happen a couple of times is when a music alarm starts, and Sonos isn't able to contact the server (for whatever reason), it defaults to the chime alarm. For a Sonos system playing the music in a store full of people, over multiple speakers, this is a serious problem, because it sounds to the customers like a smoke or fire alarm is going off.I understand why Sonos might default to the chime sound for individual users, but it should at least be an option to play nothing, for those who are using Sonos in a commercial setting.It would be a trivial setting along the lines of 'Don't play default alarm when unable to connect to the internet' I can’t think of a reason not to have it a

Having replaced a Bose wireless speaker with the Roam, one feature I’m really missing is that the Bose would announce remaining battery life when powered on via the power button.  This served as a useful reminder that when I’m finished using it (or asap) I should place it on the charger.

I am trying to see if there is a way to split the signal coming out of a Roku Ultra to send one signal to my old Samsung TV and a separate signal to the Sonos arc.  My goal is to get Dolby Atmos sound out of my Sonos Arc.  My old Samsung TV doesn’t support Dolby Atmos pass through.I’m sure this is a common problem for many people with older TV’s.  I think there are only about 5 TV’s on the market right now that can pass through Dolby Atmos to a Sonos arc.

So this is a continuation from another issue that got resolved last week by disabling “Private address” but now whenever I leave home [and the wifi network] when I return home and auto connect to my home wifi I get “unable to connect to Sonos. Learn More” again. See below I have a Sonos Connect Amp that is connected wirelessly to our BT router in the next room [no bridges/extenders]. The router isn't new, been moved or any passwords changed; likewise for the amp. To play music I use an iPad fixed in one location [this iPad connects fine to the amp and can play music using the S1 app]. However, my iPhone X [running latest software] using S1 app has just suddenly, for no apparent reason, started saying “unable to connect to Sonos. Learn More”. I have tried my work iPhone as well in case it was just my personal mobile acting out but that won't connect either and I get the same message.I have tried:Resyncing the phone by pressing the mute and + button on the amp. Anyone else noticing issues sometimes waking the Roam when opening/ using the Sonos App? It is my understanding that opening the app or engaging an already opened Sonos app should wake a sleeping Roam.  I’ve seen this not happen, several times now.  The sleeping Roam continues to show as offline no matter what I do. Including closing and reopening the app.   I know it’s not my wifi, because as soon as I plug the roam into the charger (which wakes it), it will then show up in the app.  Ideas, thoughts? 

Hi all, I have heard all about HDfury Arcana. I have an old Samsung TV from 2013 with Sonos Arc + Sub + 2 Ones SL. I am looking to push Dolby Atmos out from the setup.Arcana is good, but expensive. Am looking at a 4K HDCP compliant HDMI splitter (not HDMI switch) to split the source to 2 HDMI out, one for TV, one for Arc.Can this work? Thank you in advance.

To whom it may concern,For the entire day of today, I have tried setting up the google assistant in my Sonos speakers. I've had the Sonos One, and the One SL for a while, with the assistant working perfectly until today. As soon as I added the Roam to the app, the problems began. I cannot add the voice assistant to it, moreover, the voice assistant doesn't work whatsoever for any of the products.I have tried the countless solution in Sonos forums and on Reddit, with no success.Once I get to the Google Home app, and it asks me to sign in to my sons account, it redirects to a page that asks for me to update my app (it is updated), and that there are no speakers on my account (yes, there are)I have reset all the accounts, re-installed everything, factory reset all the speakers, deleted and adjusted everything I could. Created new accounts to try and add the Google assistant, but nothing has worked. I have submitted diagnostics #999897859

Hi, I just received my Roam and I am quite happy so far. But running on my first charge, I do have 2 ideas for features.Charging status: while I do understand that people would not like to have an LED burning all the time if the Roam sits on a charging pad the whole day, I would like to see a configuration option to at least display a “fully charged” status on the speaker for users, who don't want to charge that thing all the time. Yes I know, battery status is displayed in the Sonos app. But I would like to request an integration of that status with the voice assistants. I asked Alexa for battery status and she answered, she is unable to get that status from the system.

I just bought my first Sonos One and having real difficulty with it. The microphone will not light up and I cannot enable the Sonos skill in the Alexa app. In fact, the two problems seem to be related from what I’ve read. The light will not come on until the Sonos skill is enabled on Alexa. When I try to enable the skill, Alexa tells me I have to link the speaker to my Sonos account first, but I’ve already done that
