I have two external audio sources I’d like to play through a Beam (v2):TV (HDMI ARC) Bluetooth receiver w/TOSLINK output (using the Sonos optical-to-HDMI ARC adapter)Each works fine when directly connected to the Beam, but I’d like to be able to switch between them without recabling.  I’ve tried a couple HDMI switches that haven’t worked, but I’m not sure why.  Does anybody know of a switch I can use for this, or help me understand how to do this?  Thanks!

Hi guys, after installing my new Apple TV and adding my Hue lights to my Apple Homekit (via the new Apple TV) I get a password promt when I try to Airplay music via Spotify to my Sonos system.  I’ve checked the homekit settings; password’s off.  I have 1 Beam and 2 One SL’s. What to do?

I have just purchased a Sonos roam and am trying to group with the play/pause button method, it worked fine when we first got the roam but isn’t now. When I hold down the play/pause button I hear two tones, and then it immediately swaps the audio to the one rather than grouping them. If I try to let go before the second tone the music just pauses. Not sure what’s going on here, any advice? 

Purchased the ARC yesterday (vitals in topic title).Static heard only from the right-hand side of the ARC -- it is constant, although intensity varies, and it seems more noticeable when music is playing. Popping has happened a few times, but it’s infrequent. I spoke with Sonos phone support and we completed troubleshooting. I’ve been advised to exchange the unit. Hopefully I will be able to exchange it later today for a unit that works correctly. Posting here to document this issue and to satisfy the faintest hope of mine that perhaps there’s some software setting issue that corrects this. Although, since the constant static seems to be isolated to the right-hand side speakers, I suspect this is a hardware issue. Any suggestions that aren’t too technical? I just want it to plug in and work. TV is brand new and updated. Apple TV 4K is updated. Not interested in PhD-level technical troubleshooting/research. (Shouldn’t be on the customer to do this.) No extra speakers or subwoofer. Thank

I've had a lot of problems making Sonos One SL devices work with my network setup and my MBP.After some debugging it hit me that the problem is that if my MBP is connected to my Thunderbolt hub (with a wired UTP connection) that I cannot control the Sonos device, nor use AirPlay 2.I see the speakers in the AirPlay speakers menu, but when I try to stream anything (or use the Sonos Controller software) I get a generic connection error after 20-30 seconds.When I unplug the wired connection I can use AirPlay2 or the Controller without a problem.This is really annoying because now I need to disconnect my MBP from the wired connection if I want to AirPlay something to my Sonos. If I only have the wired connection then it does not work neither since I guess the IP address of my MBP is different.Is there a way to have the configuration work with both the wired and wireless connection (at the same time) ?

What do I really have here. Have the Play Bar and Two of the SL Ones. Was looking for a home theater type system to replace an older Bose 5.1 system.thanks 

I am able to sync the Fios remote to control the volume though the Sonos Beam when I am watching Fios cable TV.  When I switch over to an app (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max) the Fios remote doesn’t work to control the volume.  The Sony/TV a remote doesn’t work for the volume either.  How do I get one remote to control everything?

I have the following equipment, on three different floors of my house:Room A: 2 Fives (stereo pair)Room B: 1 OneRoom C: 1 Play:5 (gen 1)Rooms A and B are controlled by S2 (iPhone)Room C is controlled by S1 (iPhone)Everything has been working perfectly, exactly as expected, for quite some time. Last evening, though, though, I experienced a particularly annoying issue --Room A was active -- streaming from TuneIn Radio. Rooms B and C were inactive. The S2 controller suddenly popped up a message that an additional Sonos system had been found and was incompatible with S2, and it asked how I wanted to proceed.That is, the old Play:5 had been discovered by S2. I had the choice of adding the Play:5 (which of course would not be allowed) or taking additional action. ‘Taking additional action’, as far as I could tell, involved resetting the S2 system, which of course I also didn’t want to do.I was stuck in an infinite loop. Closing/reopening S2 by itself did not make the message go away. I final

I have a BenQ TH671ST 1080p projector installed into my ceiling. I currently have an audio cord running from the projector to a less than optimal sound bar that isn't stereo. I have a Sonos AMP powering two outdoor speakers. I also want to power all my streaming through my Chromecast or Fire Stick. With this setup, is there a way to get great STEREO audio, with no lag, to either two Sonos speakers and/or a Sonos Sound Bar? What do I need to accomplish this and to set this up?

I am hopeful you can help with figuring out what products I need to pull off my design. Here goes….I am beginning a backyard project where I am looking to have a mix of wired outdoor speakers and Sonos. First area is a swim spa where I will be mounting 4 speakers onto the pergola. Next, I am having a fireplace built where I am looking to mount a tv and a sound-bar. About 20’ from there I will have a bar where I want to have some speakers that can listen to what is on TV or something different. Next, I am having a fire pit built where I will have speakers there too that can also listen to the tv or something different. Lastly, I have speakers on my front porch and under another porch that I would like to have included as additional zones.With the above said, what kind of Sonos devices do I need? I’m looking to have all the speaker wires run back to a central location for ease of management.

I have a Sonos Amp connected to 4 Sonos in wall architecture speakers in our living area. They sound amazing when playing music in the entire house. The problem is, the 4 speakers are pretty high up the wall, because we have an open floor plan. When watching TV the sound isn't great. Anyone have a recommendation on what we could do for better sound lower in the room when watching TV?I don't think we could add an Arc or Beam to the Amp and other 4 speakers. Any other options?

Hi all,I have a Sonos Amp and a Sonos Arc and want to control them with a a Google Hub Max which I thought would be simple but it seems not to be.Firstly, the Sonos app only lets me add voice control to the arc (I know the amp doesn’t have that functionality built in). However I don’t want the arc to have voice control because it’s in a very close room to the amp and the Google.  Does anyone know if it’s possible to set things up in this way? I tried setting up the arc with voice control and then removing it - no luck. Even when I have both the arc and the Google using voice I can’t get the Google to control the amp. In addition when I try and speak to the Google the amp also answers from the other room with something completely different when I though they should be sync’d in some way.All rather frustrating in a first world way and makes me think it’s just not with nothing with Google/Sonos integration as it seems buggy and not a great experience.Thanks all.

Is there a widget for iOS that will implement a 30 second or variable timed mute so that I can mute periodic advertising?

I use Sonos primarily to play music stored on my Windows computer. It is all organized in itunes, with many Playlists. I open Sonos and go to Music Library > Imported PlaylistsThe issue is that my music files seem to be in many different locations on my computer. I can see this in itunes if I right-click a song and select Show in Windows Explorer--the songs are all over the place.  And I sometimes get errors that Sonos cannot find a song.Can I go into File Explorer and move the music files around so that all the songs are stored in the same folder in just one location? Then I would go to Sonos > Manage > Music Library Settings > Folders and list just the one folder.This seems too easy--what am I missing? What other files would need to be in the folder with the music, such as a library file? I don’t want to totally mess things up.Thanks in advance for your advice.

I have a lot of Smart Home devices controlled by Alexa in my home in Portugal.I am now very disappointed to find that my newly purchased Sonos Arc does not have Alexa voice facility.Could anyone advise if the problem is with  Sonos or Amazon Alexa?Thanks.

I’ve outsmarted myself and need help! I thought it would be cute to have Men at Work play “Who Can It Be Now” when the Ring doorbell is pressed.  Now it’s driving us nuts and I can’t figure out how I set it up so I can stop it. I’m embarrassed to say that not only does the music play, the Hue lights come on and the Alexa devices all make it abundantly clear someone is at my front door. I know, it’s insanity. But if I never hear that song again it’s too soon. Please don’t judge, just help.

Hi,Been trying for days to get alexa working on my two Sonos Ones. It had been working reasonably well for a couple of years but recently tried out Google assistant (which I can add just fine) and now when I go to re-set up Alexa in Voice Services in the Sonos S1 App (Huawei Mate 20 Pro, v 11.2.12 - have also tried on another android tablet running the same version of the S1 software with the same results)  after selecting the rooms, I press the black “Sign in to Amazon” button but can’t get any further, only get the grey spinning wheel and then “There was a problem adding Alexa”I’ve tried:Everything from these two threads:Disabling my firewall Signing out of all other Amazon apps on my phone Disabling and reenabling the Alexa Sonos skill Removing the devices and re-adding them in the Alexa App Uninstalling and reinstalling the Sonos and Alexa Apps Power cycling the router and the Sonos devicesI suspect the issue is something to do with the Sonos app not launching the browser to allow

Hi allI’ve recently set up a new amp with existing in ceiling speakers and it works great. I’ve also connected the amp to a 2018 LG OLED via hdmi arc which pushes the sound out through the in ceiling speakers - also great.The issue I have it switching off the amp to return to playing the tv via a sky soundbox (also conducted to the tv via hdmi). This seems impossible to do, other than by physically unplugging the amp from the arc hdmi port on the tv.  I only occasionally play the tv through the in ceiling speakers but it would be nice to find a slicker solution than the above workaround.I have seen similar posts without a solution from a couple of years ago so I thought perhaps someone might now have found a fix.cheers.

Just over 2 weeks ago, my Sonos controllers have all stopped working correctly.They all say “No music selected” and the play/pause buttons are greyed out.  The queue sometimes is empty, sometimes shows an old playlist.  I actually found today that one of the controllers was telling me that it was playing something I was listening to a few days ago via Spotify Connect (but not any more). This is a problem on Android, iPhone and Mac.Also, the volume controls are weird - on the Mac, some of them are unusable, on the Android they are all positioned at 0.  (But on Android they still work when I change the volume.))I can play new music fine, but just not pause it once it starts!  Voice control from both Alexa and Google works normally and is the only way I can really control the playback.  Occasionally, after replacing the queue I can select something from the queue to skip to, but not always. Some other things work OK, like displaying and changing room groups.  I can also use Spotify Connec

As per title. When playing music with my beam and 2 simfonisk speakers in surround mode the right rear surround intermittently breaks up/cuts out. it works fine as an individual speaker in the same position. I have submitted diagnostics in case helps anyone from Sonos identify the issue. Thanks for any advice/thoughts. 

I have three stereo pairs  Ones  Fives (w/sub) and Moves. I no longer can get all of them to appear in S2 on my cellphone nor on my desktop.  When I open S2 a random stereo pair is there and it works flawlessly.  Close S2 and reopen it again and a different stereo pair is in S2, and t works flawlessly.   But I want ALL the speakers to be in S2 at the same time!

Just purchased a new Beam Gen 2 and a pair of one SL speakers.  For TV I use a TCL 65r646 which supports eArc.   i have Sonos connected to tv via earc using supplied hdmi 2.1 cable and an Xbox one S connected to the TVs high speed hdmi port also via hdmi 2.1 cable.  I have tried what seems like every setting combination possible between the tv and Xbox, gone through the Dolby app setup on Xbox yet still the Sonos app does not show atmos while playing content I know it atmos enabled.   any help is appreciated.

How can I listen to old recent radio shows on Sonos. I can access them on my phone from the radio station web or app but I am unable to transfer to my Sonos sound system. 

I have a fairly small TV room - 12 ft x 13 ft, with 8 ft ceiling and the main seating position 10 ft from the TV.  The room is fully enclosed.  Also, the TV is in a built-in cabinet with the main part 51 inches wide (pictures here). That would only leave 3 inches on either side if I place the Arc there. That is lower than the 4.5 inches recommended. It is somewhat offset by the fact that the front 1” or so of the Arc would be positioned in front of the cabinet wall (you can see the lip in the cabinet picture ).  I am wondering if I would be able to get the surround effect of the Arc given the cabinet and low-ish ceiling. Or would I be better off with a Beam 2?
