So I have 2 connect amps, running 2 "zones" of built in speakers in my house. I want to play the tv on one of the zones. I go to Best Buy, guy tells me to buy a sonos "connect"connect it to the direct tv box(which is the small genie box) connect it using the single orange coax cable. So hook it all up, everything's connected. But I can not figure out how to make it play now that it is all connected. On my app it shows different "rooms" and the connect is listed as a room. Please help!!!!

My question is similar to several other topics related to using Sonos speakers and other amplifiers, but those threads are several months to as long as a year old.  I’m hoping for an updated answer. I plan to purchase a Playbar and other Sonos wireless speakers to create 5:1 audio for TV viewing and additional wireless speakers for other rooms in the house.  I also would like music from my CD player and/or AM/FM receiver to play through the Sonos speaker system instead of using my externally wired speakers.  The CD player is currently connected to the amplifier in the receiver, so all current audio sources (except for the TV) are output from the amplifier to the hardwired speakers.  Every thing I’ve read describes connecting a Line Out from the Sonos Connect to a Line In on an amplifier, but wouldn’t I need to come OUT of the receiver and IN to the Connect so the source can be sent to the wireless speakers?  Thanks.

Hi, I'm sure this is really easy to fix, but am struggling.....I installed my Playbar today, I have a Sony TV which I control with my Sky remote. I have got the sound coming from the Playbar and changed the speakers to Audio System on the TV to do this. However, although I can control the sound from my Sky remote, everytime I change the sound I get the message "TV Volume is Fixed". Any ideas how toi disable this?

Does anyone know the LxWxH (inches) of the box for the Playbase? Specifically, the one that'd get UPS'ed or FedEx'ed. Need to know how much room in my car to make for it (bringing as a gift to a relative's house).

The controller works fine full screen but when changing the windows size it does not resize all the elements. Sometimes a minimise and restore sorts it but not others. This has been an issue with v5 and 6. No other apps corrupt like this.

Hi All, I love Sonos and have been working towards expanding my current set up in my new house. I've gone from a flat to a 3 bed house and need music to envelop my living space accordingly. I currently have a Playbar with Sub and 2 Play 1's as surrounds in the lounge. I want some speakers for the kitchen/diner and also the bedroom. I was planning to do this slowly and pick up a piece or two over time but now that Sonos plan to hike the prices up in 8 days I am taking the plunge and getting the credit card out. I just need some advice on what would best suit my circumstances as i'm going in circles. So I was originally thinking a pair of 1's for the kitchen, then I toyed with getting 1 Play 5, but what about a pair of Play 3's... I can't seem to decide. The room is 6m x 2.5m and whatever I get will be on a shelving unit at one end of the room. The bedroom would be fine with one or two Play 1's so that's no problem. I have connected to Sonos 1 speakers to my bridge which is downstairs. I want to move one of the speakers upstairs, but it cannot find the relocated speaker when I plug it in in the new location (upstairs).

Hi, I have a shared Wi-Fi (where you log in with through an log in splash screen on the browser, not typing in a password) and wired only LAN. I can't use the the Wi-FI, because it's shared and I don't want anyone to be able to control the Sonos and I can't make the Sonos log on the Wi-Fi because of the browser login function). So I have to use the wired LAN, but I need WiFi to control the Sonos from my phone. In threads where people are asking for password protection for their Sonos, they are suggested to use a travel router, so they have their own wi-fi. Can I use the travel router solution for this and plug it to the wired LAN? Or can travel routers only attach them selves to a Wifi? If so would a "normal" router that can make its own wifi work? (it's first time I hear the term travel router, so I actually don't if a travel router just is a "normal" router but smaller". Bonus info: In my situation I have to use a Sonos Boost (I have 16 SONOS:1s) and that have to be wired to

It was powered off for a while and when I re-applied power I just get a continuously flashing white light. I have tried a factory reset and just then get a continuously flashing orange/amber light. Removing and reapplying power reverts back to the continuously flashing white light! I can not see the device with my Sonos Controller.

I recently updated one of my computers from Mac OS Sierra 10.12.3 to 10.12.4 and all seemed fine until I tried to use the Sonos Controller and it can't see my system - no problem from other computers or iOS devices. Tried all the recommended troubleshooting steps not realizing it might have been the Mac system update. Then today I updated another machine and the Sonos Controller won't work there either. I'm starting to sense a pattern! Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughts? Thank-you. ric

When is The Think With alaxa and sonos comes out?

I have a TV on the wall with a fireplace below it and a soffit above it. There really isn't room to mount it on the wall above or below without having the speakers fire directly into the wall or floor (see image below). So I wanted to hang the playbar upside down under the soffit as seen in the image. This actually points the speakers right at the listening area and seems to be the best option. But, it seems that the R/L channels might be incorrect if this is done? Is that still the case? Will SONOS add an over write feature to hard code what is right and left to the PB? Is there any other options here? For other people that have ceiling mounted the PB, did you use the standard wall mount or did you do something different to make sure it was secure? Contemplating purchasing a Sonos system. Have complete Apple system including AirPlay. Sonos documentation says I need to have AirPort Express (entry level unit); I have AirPort Time Capsule (the premium unit) already installed. Can I use my Time Capsule to establish the AirPlay connection? Or do I need a separate (and redundant) AirPort Express?

I have a Sharp Aquos LC-40D68UT (purchased in 2011).  It has a digital audio port, and seems to plug in fine to my Playbar; however, during Playbar setup, the Playbar does not detect anything coming from the TV.  Wondering if the TV is simply not compatible (it's not listed in the non-compatible list thread; and speaking to Sharp customer service they weren't able to say definitively).  Or wondering if there is some other common troubleshoot (which I haven't found in the manual or FAQ).  Thanks

I have Sonos controller apps listed from old computers and tablets that I no longer own. Though I have reformatted those drives and tablets before I got rid of them they still show up in my account. I'm concerned because I know that you can only have a certain number of registered controllers for your account. I would like to clean that list up. How can I remove them from my account Thank you Tony

Can't get ride of the annoying popup box that says TV is using external speakers

We are using Samsung 4K TV and a sonos playbar. The optical output from the TV is PCM 2.0. Is there a work around for this?

Hi everyone. Indexing new music takes 30 - 40 minutes now. It was much faster before, if i remember correct it only took 1 - 5 minutes to add new music to my library before. I have a new Synology nas DS216play. I'm using Sonos-controller for PC when i update my library. All help would be highly appreciated! Regards Edvardsen

I have one Connect:Amp and two Play:1. The home theater is wired into the Connect:Amp through RCA line-in. The outdoor speakers are wired out through the speaker connections. The Connect:Amp and the outdoor speakers will play all music sources [b][u]except[/u][/b] line-in. The Play:1 speakers with play all music sources [b][u]including[/u][/b] Connect:amp line-in. Obviously line-in works, because I can get sound from it through the Play:1 speakers. Why can't I get the Connect:Amp speakers to play the Connect:Amp line-in. They play other sources.

The Android [b]tablet[/b] app has a shortcut to the Equalization screen from the Now Playing screen (see page 2-13 of the documentation: http://www.sonos.com/documents/productguides/en/AndroidTabletGuide_en.pdf). Will this be added to the Android [b]smartphone[/b] app? (And the iDevice apps for that matter?)

The on this iphone menu item disappeared after athe 6.2 app update. I can no long listen to podcast stored on my phone. Deleted and d/l again, restarted, no luck. What happened?

Good morning, in my house I have 2 Play 1 (in two separate rooms), 1 Playbar, and 1 SUB (in living room). This morning the Sonos app asked me to update the software to the last version (I understood that is an update for adding Playbase features). At the end of the installation it returns me an error (no specific number) and now i don't see anymore the Playbar and the SUB but only the two Play 1 devices. I didn't change anything to the previous configuration (e.g. router or something else). I Tried also to install them again but they are not detected anymore...what I have to do? Please help me!
