Hi, I have an old electric piano which I would normally connect to a mixer, and then to an amp/speaker combination. I also have 2 Sonos 5's (in our living room). I am thinking of moving the piano to the living room. If I got a Connect, would I be able to use my piano with my Sonos 5's? What does the Connect 'expect', in terms of a signal? Many thanks.

Hello, I'm building a new home and trying to plan out a whole home audio system based around Sonos, Amazon Echo Dot, Connect Amps, and external speakers. My main goals are to 1) have access to Sonos in most rooms of house, 2) Use Echo Dot, Connect Amp and ceiling speakers to voice control music in kitchen and master bathroom, 3) have 5.1 surround sound using playbar, subwoofer, and ceiling speakers. I would like to lay out my plans and hoping you all can tell me if it will work, how i could improve it, and if i'm missing anything. And of course all smart ass comments to tell me how stupid I am are welcome 1) Kitchen: Amazon echo dot wired to Connect Amp...and Connect amp wired to ceiling speakers in the kitchen. Basically want to be able to say to the Echo Dot to play music off Spotify/Amazon/Sonos. Also, at times I want the option of being able to use my iphone/SONOS App to play music on the kitchen speakers and zone them with other rooms if/when I want to (ie: play a song

Hi, I am in the midst of building out a Home theatre setup and like many would like to reduce the number of wires in my living room.  I currently have a PRIMARE SPA 22 A/V receiver ([url=http://www.primare.net/assets/_managed/cms/files/SPA22usermanual.pdf]http://www.primare.net/assets/_managed/cms/files/SPA22usermanual.pdf[/url]) and also a pair of JM Lab Focal front speakers both of which produce exceptional sound. I would like to know whether it is possible to use my existing 2 channel setup with the PRIMARE SPA 22 A/V receiver but introduce a centre channel and 2 rear surround channels all connected to the A/V receiver so that I can have the A/V receiver pushing the sound from a BluRay movie/player to the the Sonos components and the 2 Focal speakers. We tried to set up a Play 3 and Play 1 at our office, but when they created their own network during setup, it used the same IP address as one of our other offices and our ISP saw it as a potential security threat and kicked us offline. Is there anyway that we can set up the speakers without the temporary network or can we change the IP address?

When will Sonos make a playbar 2 with an 2 or more HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI pass through to TV. This is a much better setup than currently. Would love to see true 5.1 sound.

I just moved my home office, which meand my wifi router and bridge are in new locations. I wanted to review my Network matrix to see what it looked like after the move. When I got to x.x.x.x:1400/support/review/ , the only thinks that comes up now is a hyperlink that says network martrix (the other links are no longer there) and if i click on the link, the table does not appear.

I would be very pleased if Sonos basically took the AVR (audio visual receiver) question off the table by adding at least three HDMI inputs. They could really knock it out of the park if we could choose how to "scale" the input from HDMI to 1080p, or 2160p HDR 4k and such. I know a bit of a fantasy, but a receiver with power in does the same thing for around $700. Paradigm is coming out with a new soundbar that has HDMI and more according to CNET. Does playbar actually work with television content. I have previously tried to connect television audio to the auxiliary device on my sonos system and the buffering creates a lip sync issue. I always assumed that Sonos buffered in order to maintain adjusted synchronization between devices.

According to the FAQ at https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1589/related/1, it sounds like you can set up your wireless devices (laptop, tablet, etc.) to use SonosNet as a wireless mesh for the home. Is that correct? I thought SonosNet was proprietary and could only be used by Sonos components. Allowing SonosNet to be used by non-Sonos devices is a VERY value-added feature. This means that having a Play:1 in your distant room, for example, would give Wifi access to the network/internet to mobile devices in that room (via SonosNet). I see a VERY good benefit for having additional Sonos components (including Sonos Bridge) in that regard. Saves you from buying Wifi Repeaters to extend the wireless range for tablets & computers in your house. Did I read the FAQ correctly? I hope so :)

I upgraded to a dual band 5Ghz router this weekend only to discover that Sonos only works on 2.4 Ghz. I have an old Sonos Bridge that I had stuffed into a drawer a while ago. Is it time to dust it off? Does anyone know whether using the Sonos Bridge will resolve the network issue?

A computer that is running the SONOS controller app is connected to a VPN. Am I correct in assuming that the SONOS speakers will NOT stream music over the VPN just because the controller is connected to the VPN, even if they are all connected to the same router?

Is it normal for these Sonos devices to send tens of thousands of probe requests per day? It is kind of flooding out my network analysis. I can just filter this traffic out, but before I do I wanted to find out if this is normal behavior. Between my three devices, over the last 1-2 hours, I have captured 14,000 probe requests. Seems kind of crazy. I have a Sonos Play:3, Playbar and Connect. They are all connected via wifi, none of them are plugged in. Examining my network traffic, I see that they are constantly spamming probe requests to Sonos_OPSFJSLDGNSODV (I made that name up but that's the basic idea). I guess that is a mesh network that the three devices use?

Dear Sonos, I have a TV with poor sound placed on the wall above the kitchen table. Therefor I would like to connect it directly to my Play1 which is on the kitchen table. That would be the ideal solution, since adding a Connect station would just be too much in terms of investment and equipment. Connect is useful when connecting to a serious receiver, not for a simple TV. Sonos, can you please put your customers first and add AUX/LINE IN to the Play1 and Play3? Not doing so will eventually cost you customers, since competition does not rest. And adding the feature will most like augment sales revenues for Play1 and 3. I have a set up in my house with 10 Sonos speakers. I tend to group them in the various rooms..... Kitchen (3 Speakers) Living Room (4 Speakers) Kids Bedrooms (3 Speakers) Master Bedroom/Bathroom (4 Speakers via Connect & Connect Amp) I change the Groups depending on the set up the house at any time. Watching movies etc...... Is there any way to get the system to remember 'Groups' so i can just click on a PreSet say 'Movies' and it will link the appropriate speakers together. I know you can create stereo pairs but i want to create 'super groups'. Many thanks

I set an alarm up for my sonos play 3 in my room. Which has worked fine a couple of times letting me pause it but today every time i hit pause it just restarts the playlist I chose as the alarm music. Now I cant use that speaker amd have just turned the volume right down. Help

Hello I just purchased & installed a Play 3 (like it very much) my question: when not i use, is it beneficial to disconnect the power AC ? would that prolong the life of the amp ? The bridge is also "ON" constantly. I prefer not to leave my components on all the time. What is your opinion ?

Hello, I'd like to add a Play speaker in my garage (probably mount on the wall or ceiling). My garage is not temperature-controlled and I live in New Jersey, USA. So in the winter it will be cold (20-30 F) and in the summer it will be pretty warm (70-90 F) . . . pretty much what the temperature is outside. Can Play speakers handle these temps? What about the Connect:AMP? I'm also thinking about outdoor speakers, but the Connect:AMP would be in an unconditioned utility closet. Thanks, in advance, for your help!

Hi all, i intend on buying sonos speakers to listen to music in my roughly 80m2 living and dining room. Which speakers would you recommend? I assume 2 play 1 will not be sufficient, right? My budget is sufficient for max 4x play 1 or 2 play 3, or one play 5. Thanks a lot

Connect Amp (older model) has stopped working. Can't stay connected to network and green light is flashing on/off, despite multiple restarts. Any ideas?

I'm thinking of purchasing a sonos sound bar and was curious about the sound input options available. My dvd player gives me the option to play stero sound or 5.1 sound. Does the sound bar work better with one or the other. Does it make a difference in the sound played by choosing one or the other. Does the sound bar simulate surround sound or do you have to buy more speakers to achieve that surround sound feeling?
