When we did some house construction three years ago, we had an A/V guy set up a Sonos system and a new Samsung TV. We opted not to get a full home theater, so he installed a CONNECT:AMP (I believe) and hooked it up to some in-ceiling speakers. But he didn't or couldn't connect the TV to those same speakers at the time, and never came back as he had said he would to wrap up the installation. (We won't be using that same company ever again.) Question 1: Can I run the Samsung audio through the CONNECT:AMP to the existing ceiling speakers? If the answer is NO, I will consider buying a Playbar, but that leads to Question 2: Reading the Playbar manual, it says that all components of my system (cable box, modem/router) have to be connected directly to the TV for it to work properly. I have an Xbox One controlling my TV and cable box. How does the Playbar fit in such a system? Thanks.

Are the line-in sources for Play 3's & 5's really only iPads, iPods, and iPhones? This is what is noted on this topic at the Sonos website: Audio line-in: Auto-detecting 3.5mm audio line-in connection. Listen to music that’s stored on an iPod or iPhone: Dock, charge and wirelessly play the music from an iPod or iPhone with the SONOS DOCK (sold separately).

Inotherwords, should I plan to spend a huge amount of money to have my existing in wall and ceiling speakers be controlled as separate zones?

I have 2 Play 1 speakers setup as surround speakers for my playbar, but can't find how to turn off the White LED status lights for these speakers? Could you please help me with some directions?

So my home system is currently set up with a wireless router downstairs and a sound system upstairs.  My sound system is basically a Yamaha amplifier with various speakers and other audio visual equipment connected to it as well as a laptop with all my Itunes music on it.   I can access my itunes music library on my laptop through my smartphone or ipad (via wi-fi) from anywhere around the house and also control the volume through this however to enjoy music downstairs or in the bedrooms I have to put up the volume in the living room considerably and still not giving the desired effect therefore I ask: Would it be possible to link a SONOS speaker to this type of system so that I can transmit music either directly from my amp to the wireless speakers so that wherever I place the speaker around the house it will play the same music that is playing on my sound system without me needing to raise the volume too high in the living room?   Alternatively would it be possible to l

Just hooked up my play bar, sub and 2 play 3's for surround sound. Verizon Fios TV is great. Music played thru my iPad sonos remote is amazing. No audio though when I switch over to Apple TV. What should I do?

I want to get rid of pc speakers and replace with Play:1 - can I do it?

HI All, So my neighbors have a PlayBar and just added two Play1s as surrounds, Everything works great and sounds amazing when they are using them for TV. During cocktail hour they want to take one of the Play1s outside to listen to music. So I thought the easiest way is to leave them bounded to the PlayBar and just take them out side. The distance to the PlayBar is maybe 5 meters but, there is a wall in between the PlayBar and the Play1 (when it is outside on the outside cocktail table). Well the Play1 is just breaking up as it is just a little to far from the PlayBar (I think) They do have a Boost in the system and it is near the PlayBar. If I did not bound the Play1s to the PlayBar I am thinking they would play fine but, that is a real hassle to bound and unbound them every cocktail hour. The easiest thing to to buy another Play1 Any thoughts on the best way to do this? Thanks

I have a Play One and love it! Can I use that as a speaker (like I currently do) by itself when listening to music but add it to a PlayBar for surround sound? There are times I'd like to use the speaker by itself but other times when watching TV that I would like it to work as part of the surround sound system. Let me know if this is possible. Thanks!

I keep adding songs to my queue but I can't find the queue to edit it, delete songs, replay it. It seems like a stupid question seeing as on the old Sonos app it was so easy. Any help would be great. 

I just replaced my ASUS router with an Eero mesh network. On the "base" Eero, I plugged in a switch that is used to enable my in-wall ethernet network. I have another switch in a different room where I have other devices hardwired to my network. On that switch is a BOOST. That's the only Sonos product hardwired to my network. When I enabled the Eero mesh network, the Sonos network went dark. I power cycled that switch and the BOOST was able to be added to the iOS controller. I was resigned to adding all my zones one by one again. Unfortunately, they're not wanting to be added. Literally the only physical change to my network was the Eero router(s). I did not change the network configuration at all (i.e. same SSID, etc.). Anyone know what might be happening?

Is there a way from controller software to tell what type of audio signal the playbar is receiving from source?

Hello. I currently have a "traditional" speaker craft system with 5 different speakercraft zones in my home. My speakercraft amp is an MZC-66. I've used Sonos at a number of other houses and am really impressed with the quality and ease of use. I talked with a few people who seemed to indicate that I could pretty easily convert to Sonos by buying a Sonos amp and attaching it to my MZC-66? And then could easily add Sonos speakers and systems to other rooms as they join the wifi network? True?

I know this sounds an odd thing to do but I need to setup a SONOS without any internet connection. I have a Connect:amp with two wired speakers. I also have a 2tb headless unit to act as a server for music. In addition 2 x Play3 speakers. I plan to control this all using an Apple iPad. My question is this what do I need to connect them altogether. I do not intend using it for any streaming services but more as a jukebox, if that makes sense? Any help/advice is welcome.

Hi I've got a playbar and two sonos play 1 speakers. One play1 is in the bedroom while the other one is in the kitchen/dinning room. The playbar is in the lounge. The kitchen/dinning/lounge is one large open space. How can I temporarily add the play1 from the bedroom to create a stereo system in the kitchen/dining area? How can I temporarily configure the two play1 as the surround speakers for the playbar? And how do you undo these changes?

I am building a three story home and would like in ceiling speakers in the following areas: Basement: Living room, bedroom #4, Bedroom #5 First Floor: (Living Room & Kitchen) , outside deck, and garage Second Floor: Master bedroom, Bedroom #3 and Bedroom #2 The goal is that each of these rooms could be playing different music controlled by an individual. I am thinking of Klipsch speakers. My questions: 1) Do each of the klipsch speakers need speaker wire ran to connect Amp? 2) How many connnect amps will I need? 3) Why would I need wall mounted audio controls installed? I've seen this recommended. 4) are the speakers connected to the cat5 cables? 5) If I have multiple connect amps, can i still control them from one app for the entire house? 6) I believe I run the speaker wires to the connect amp, and then ethernet cable from connect amp to the cable modem. Any help I can get, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi moved2 play 1's last night to use with a sound bar, when I've moved them back one of them won't reconnect back and the room name has disappeared just got a solid white light , how do I connect it back in?

Hi there, I own 2 Samsung tv's; one in the livingroom and one in the kitchen (it's a space without walls, 60m2), and want to buy a SONOS set. My thoughts: - TV livingroom: 2x PLAY5, 1x PLAYBAR, 1x SUB - TV kitchen: 1x PLAY5 In the livingroom I want to use the standard configuration as descripted above, but in the kitchen I want to connect the TV through 3,5mm jack to use the single PLAY5. When I play music f.e. with Spotify and don't use any tv, I want to use the whole system (all PLAY5, PLAYBAR and SUB). Possible? Or is there a better configuration to achieve the best result?
