We've determined there to be an issue with Dolby Digital playback devices (including the Sonos PLAYBAR) and Samsung televisions in the JS and JU series. An example of a TV model number of this line would be the Samsung UN55[b]JS[/b]8500. The optical output from these televisions doesn't pass a consistent signal to devices wired in through that connection. This could present when you're watching any Dolby Digital content through the TV's optical connection. As a workaround if you're using one of these TVs, you can set the output of the TV to PCM (Stereo). There isn't any issue currently with that TV streaming stereo content to the PLAYBAR through the optical. Otherwise, you can look into using a different device. I purchased a sound bar and wired it to my tv and connected it to the connect amp with speakers to create surround sound. After 24 hours the sound bar broke. The good folks at Sonos sent me a replacement, I reinstalled it but now I cant get audio from rear speakers. Please help me, how do I connect the connect amp speakers to my new sound bar?

I've recently purchased a Playbar, Sub and 2 x Play 1's. I am using an LG 55EF9500 TV and a Logitech Harmony Elite remote. I originally setup the remote using IR to directly control the Playbar, as if it were a standard TV remote. Sound went up and down just fine. The Playbar blinked it's light each time so you had some sense of it receiving the signal (which I liked) but the LG TV gave out an annoying message. Since then, I've added the Sonos Playbar as a device to my Logitech Harmony Elite remote. I guess this means that it's now being controlled by my hub over wifi. No more annoying TV messages when sound goes up and down (which is good), but also no more blinking light on the Playbar, which I miss. Is there a way to bring back the functionality to the Playbar indicating it's receiving volume up/down or do I have to give that up? I can't get Alexa and Sonos to sync up. I bought the new Sonos one and tried going through the setup. Alexa says hello on the Sonos but when I say discover my devices I get "I can't find any devices - go to the alexa app and enable that skill. I do that and then click add device (all my other stuff is in the app) but no joy, very frustrating. I ran a diagnostic report (8053297)

I can play my spotify playlist through Sonos ok. But when I want to add a new song to the playlist, I can't because the add option is greyed out. Anyone know how to do this?

Hi I have a playbar and two 3’s set up for surround sound. Had them working with great sound last week. Been away for the week and come back to only sound from the playbar and a faint hissing from the 3’s. Have looked at the sonos advice and nothing is relevant. Any ideas? Very frustrating and missing the sound

I cannot add my music file. My PC controller 8.5 gets an error message says "the computer is not responding" (computer is otherwise fine). Checked firewalls and they allow access.

I've been out of the picture for a bit and sudenly find myself struggling to achieve something that I previously had no difficulty with: 2 sonos setups on one network, with no funny stuff like separate subnets. This used to be really easy and I used it to get past the 65k track limit; now, I want to keep my 5 year old out of the main system! But now, whenever I turn system 1 back on again, the android controller on which I set up system 2 loses contact with system2 (and system 1 for that matter). Has something changed? Admittedly, previously I was using a CR100 (but I promise this isn't the focus of this question; for me at least, that ship has, with more than a couple of sniffles, sailed).

Hi guys, I have a Playbase and the speech whilst watching anything is not clear. I find myself rewinding stuff to try an make out what was said.. I’ve tried the speech enhancement feature and it makes little to no difference. Our living room is quite big with vinyl floor and we have a vaulted ceiling. Could the room be too big for the Playbase? Is the playbase only suited to smaller rooms with low ceilings? It’s such a shame because it is loud enough and looks cool , but the quality is quite poor :?

Do both rear speakers have to be the same? I wanted Alexa in our media room, so have a Sonos One and a Sonos Play 1. Can those be rear speakers together? Setup says they don't match, so no can do??? Seems a bit arbitrary. Both speakers are the same, one has Alexa, but same speaker.

I have 2 sonos plays set up as surround with a sonos playbar. The left one keeps dropping audio every couple of seconds consistently. It is hard wired in with a network cable. I ran a diagnostics - this is the number 1492453848. Please could you take a look and see if anything is wrong? Thanks.

I got my Sonos One about 2 weeks ago and everything worked fine for a few days then all of a sudden silence. Alexa no longer works on the speaker. Disabled it then reenabled it to no avail...HELP!!

Living in a crowded area with 20 different 2.4GHz wireless networks around is really frustrating with Sonos. I've invested in many speakers and I'm constantly getting queues of podcasts either skipped 2 minutes into each 1hr podcast or the playback stops altogether because of interference... really annoying when you're listening from the shower or busy in the middle of something around the house. I've called Sonos tech support and while they are excellent, the best they could do is have me put my system in Bridge mode which didn't solve the problem. Apparently the speakers I have all do support 5GHz (contrary to what most say) because when you have a Surround setup it uses 5GHz to communicate between the speakers. So PLEASE let me enable 5GHz on all of my other speakers to avoid this interference. If the hardware exists in the speaker, let me use it!!! Hi everybody! Was debating should I sell my Play 3 and get two Play 1's. At the end, I bought a used Play 3 :-) Shippment in a few days. A few questions: Did I make a good choice? Is the Play 3 still a good speaker, compared to newer Play1 and Play5? Really how good do they sound in stereo? How do I trueplay them when in stereo mode? Will the two Play 3's on the opposite corners of my room provide enough power to fill my 50 square metres of open space? (One Play 3 must be turned out pretty loud to do so. I have a playbar and I had 2 Sonos One speakers as my surrounds. I bought 2 new play 3 speakers today and it seems like they don’t have near as much bass. I went in and turned the bass all the way up. I thought the play 3 was supposed to be better sound quality wise.

How can I block someone who is in my house in another room changing the music? Is there another way to do this without changing the passwords on spotify or pandora or my router? Changing the password to the sonos account does nothing. I wish there was a password i could set that was needed every time someone starts sonos from a different device. If you have the sonos app you only have to connect to the existing system and then Im back to square one. I wish I could see a list of active devices on my Sonos system. Then I could block those I don't want playing annoying DJ while a party is going on.

Grouped Volume Any ideas why sonos won't allow the volume control using a remote control on the Playbase won't allow you to lower the volume of a grouped speaker also. Use the Playbase with a grouped speaker in our open kitchen and would like the volume to go and down in sync.

Hey, I'm on the fence about jumping into the Sonos community with two Sonos Ones. I'm almost convinced but there's one thing holding me back. Can I use the Sonos ones to play out of my TV, as well as playing music? For example, playing Netflix or Amazon via a Google Chromecast OR screen mirroring to the TV via an Apple TV - can I wirelessly connect the Sonos Ones to play out audio in these scenarios? Thanks! I have recently purchased a Kindle Fire 7 - the first of these devices that I've owned. When loading the Sonos software initially, I found it on the Amazon app store, and it worked fine. I didn't know how to lock off updates (which are locked off on all my other devices) so it autoupdated to 8.5. I've changed all the other devices to 8.5, but no matter what I do the update marker still shows on the Kindle Fire version. I've de-installed and re-installed, I've now found out how to stop auto updates on the Kindle, but nothing seems to make any difference - it still shows as an available update. It seems to be running the latest version. I've also enabled the external store option, but it doesn't make any difference. It does get into a logic loop, if I take the update option - if I click update now, then it says that 'sonos app needs updating'. Click update then I get 'continue to the amazon appstore'. Cancel goes back to 'sonos app needs updating'.'Continue' takes me to the appstore, b

Using apple iPad 11.2.6, I installed the sonos app, its asking for an update which takes me to the AppStore which takes me back to the app and so on. App Store not showing any update but app isn’t working without an update.

Hi guys, for no reason at all my play 3 has dropped off my network and now just has a continuos flashing white light, it's no longer recognised as being part of my network? I've tried doing a factory re-set but still no go, just a flashing white light all the time? Any help would be appreciated.
