I bought a Sonus1 with Alexa. Set up ok and worked wonderfully. Yesterday Alexa stopped talking. Ecerything looks ok but U cannot get Alexa to work again?

Hi Was glad to hear that you're going to support airplay 2 in 2018. Im just wondering if this will be a software / firmware update that willl work with older speakers, like play; 1, 3 etc. or will airplay 2 only support the new speaker Sonos One?

My playbar/TV/sound surround was working fine yesterday. I then moved the TV a bit and the audio cable was disconnected. I reconnected as before, but now there is no sound from playbar when watching TV. The remote shows the TV, just no sound emitting. Any thoughts on what to do?

In Canada. I want to add a single speaker to my existing setup. My current setup includes playbar, sub, play1's in LR and 2 play1's in kitchen with an Echo in an area between both rooms that I can use to control the speaker mute, volume, etc. Sirius is my primary music service. Echo is tied to a US account because of poor skill amount in Canada. Area I want to add a speaker to too far away to use the Echo. My options are add a Play1 with a Dot or a Sonos One. Are there any restrictions/difference between the Sonos One and the echo or dot relating to the Alexa functions?

Hi, a quick question: I have 3 Sonos speakers in my living room. (2 Sonos Play 1s and a sub.) That group is called "Living Room." I have an Amazon Echo in my kitchen. Is there any way I can join everything and create a "Whole House" group, essentially add the Echo to what I already have? I see lots of posts about adding Sonos to Alexa's functionality, but not the other way around--just adding Alexa to my existing Sonos situation. Thanks!

My current set up has 7 Connect:Amps, a couple of trusty ZP100's, and a couple of S1s, a 3 and a 5. All of the Amps are in the network closet, and lately Sonos hasn't been super reliable. We do have good wifi around the house with multiple AP's, but the airspace is generally very noisy due to a lot of wifi activity. There is a Boost in the Sonos network as well. In the past I think I've read that it's a Bad Idea to connect one Amp to the switch, and daisy-chain the rest of them. So in that case, given I have easy access to the switch and spare ports, is the best option to run a dedicated ethernet cable to each? My rule of thumb is to use a cable whenever possible, but I'm not sure that's a good rule when in comes to Sonos.

Can i make a stereo pair with a Sonos play 1 and Sonos play 3. I already have a play 1 mounted in a room and want to buy another Sonos but as apposed to getting another play 1 I think a play 3 would be better but only if I can create a stereo pair with them, I know you can't pair a 5 & a 3 but can you pair a 3 & a 1 ???

I have had a living room surround sound that includes my two Sonos 1, Soundbar, and Sub for 11 months now with no problems and since this update, my Sonos 1 speakers and Sub cut in and out every 4-5 minutes!!! I don't want to watch tv in my living room anymore because it is very annoying!! Any ideas how to fix? Anyone else having this issue?

Play 5's(2nd gen) re-setup as surrounds for 5.1 Dolby Digital with all the original setup equipment and starting as instructed with LS(left surround) it never gets recognized to proceed to RS and complete. Let me explain this more clearly. I have been using this setup as a 5.1 system since 9/15/2018. About a week ago, I lost the LS(left surround) Play 5(2nd gen) speaker from the system. The Sonos Playbar+Sub in boost setup still work perfectly fine. I also have the same type of Playbar+Sub setup in my master bedroom, no rears in that room. When trying to re-setup the Play 5's as they were previously used as rears for 5.1, I always get an error message when starting AS STATED IN THE SONOS instructions with he LS(left surround). I re-boot the Play 5 and wait for the solid white light, which I get, press/release the join button, wait to proceed, and I always get the error message 'not recognized...' and it asks if I would like to try again and I do and it never works. I have a Sonos Play One and a Connect Amp connected to a pair of Bowers and Wilkins speakers which has been working great. I have recently got an Echo Dot which I want to use with my Connect Amp so I have connected the Echo Dot to the Connect Amp using the Line In connector on the Amp. This works great on both my Play 1 in the kitchen and the Connect Amp in the lounge when I say for example... Alexa, open Heart 80's - It comes on at the correct volume on all speakers. The problem is Alexa (Herself???) as this volume is incredibly low and most of the time you can't actually figure out what she is saying to start with and then the volume goes REALLY loud. I know part of the Alexa skill is to cut the Sonos volume so that Alexa can hear the promt but does there need to be a check box in the settings to ask if you are connected via the Line In and not cut the volume for Alexa. I understand that you can't connect Sonos One speakers to a TV -- the Playbar is made for TVs. But I have two Sonos One speakers, and I'm thinking of buying the Connect to hook up my record player. With the Connect, can I also hook up my two Sonos One speakers to a TV? Thanks!

This just started, out of the blue - not correlated with any system/software changes that I'm aware of: Running the controller app v8.1.1 on a Samsung tablet running Android 4.2.2 (Kernel v3.4.5). Fired up the controller app today (first time in a couple of weeks) and saw this message. Found another thread suggesting that an uninstall/reinstall of the controller app would fix - did that, and it did not. Most perplexing - any insights much appreciated!

Hi. One of my favorite streams is a listener-supported station called Folk Alley, https://www.folkalley.com/. I have been listening to their stream on TuneIn for quite some time. However, they have recently added a "member stream" for people who have donated money to support their operation. If you listen to the member stream, you do not have to listen to their asking for money during pledge drives. So I made the required contribution. I can get the member stream via their web page, but I emailed Folk Alley and asked them if it is possible for me to listen to that stream using my Sonos One with built-in Alexa. They responded that they have an Alexa skill! I was excited about that, and added the skill. But when I try "Alexa, play Folk Alley" I just get the response "Sorry, I'm having trouble accessing your Folk Alley skill right now." Now I am realizing that this may not be possible, unless Sonos adds the Folk Alley skill to their list of streaming sources in the US. Is thi

My dealer said I can use the rear channel output of my cinema amp to push the rear signal to my Conneect and then to y connect amp , powering my rear speakers... It doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions ??
