30 days ago I had never heard of Sonos. So when I heard about the integration with Alexa I ordered a Play:1. Now I learn that the Sonos Play:1 is NOT the same thing as the Sonos One. The Play:1 does NOT have the Alexa built in. I have gotten the Play:1 to work (kinda) with the Alexa but when you do multiroom play with Alexa, the dot I have in my office will not connect to my Play:1. May be, probably is, user error. but sure as heck aint an obvious thing to this old boy. I had to set up an Alexa group (in this case I chose "Office"). If my wife is listening to her music in the living room, and I want to play music in my "office", I have to play from my iPhone as the Alexa Dot says, "Music is already being streamed from another device. Do you want to stream from here instead?", So, one or the other of us gets to use our Prime but not both. And, again, if we share, the Sonos speaker is ignored. We have an Echo in the living room. It's hard to even google this as a search ALWAYS return

When locating the subwoofer, is the pairing stronger (enhanced) when the subwoofer is closer to the Play-base?

We are just getting into setting up a Sonos system in a new home. So far we have a couple of P1's upstairs in a bedroom and a bathroom but now we are trying to decide what to add on our main floor kitchen + living room. They are essentially one space, only separated by a freestanding double-sided fireplace. No wall in between them at all. The kitchen is 20' x 24' and flows right into the living room which is 20' x 16'. So total square footage at about 800 SF. Was considering either getting two P3's and putting one in the kitchen on top of the cabinets and the other in the living room OR getting one P5 and putting it on top of a cabinet that is closest to the living rroom and angling it out towards both the kitchen and living room. Thoughts??

Is it possible (or even smart if possible) to have a 5.1 setup, but instead of having the two Ones as the left/right rear, to have them in the front to the left and right of the TV/Playbar? My living room area just isn't optimal to have two speakers around the couch.

I tried setting a music alarm on Sonos One with the command “Alexa, wake me up to X at 6:30am.” Alexa responded that music alarms are not currently supported in my region (i.e., UK). Is this true? Is this expected tp change soon through an update?

I’m having trouble getting 5.1 out of my Xbox one X. My set up is Xbox one X connect via hdmi to my LG OLED 55b7 then optical to my Sonos sound bar which is linked to a sub and 2 x Sonos ones. I have selected bitstream and Dolby output on the Xbox but I just get silence. The only way to get any sound out of the Xbox is to select stereo. I get 5.1 through the TV on other sources like my Sky Q box so I’m sure the TV settings are correct. Any ideas would be extremely welcome.

How much does the Sonos One consume while it is not playing music? It have not a power button, so is it always in a "listening mode"? Or does it go in a stand by mode if I turn off the microphone? I would like to know the power consumption in the following scenario: _playing music (but it will depend on the volume) _not playing music and microphone turned off _not playing music and microphone on thanks :)

My sister came to ours for Christmas and she got an Alexa dot, for the few next few days we played with it and hooked it up to my sonos. Now she has gone home (200 miles away)- but now whenever she talks to her alexa the volume on my sonos goes down! I phoned her up to test my theory and it was correct - further more she then tried to play a song 'in the kitchen' and that worked too!!! How can I stop this from happening? This is a major bug in my opinion!

I have no sound when telling alexa to play a song on my play:1 speaker. Is there a fix? Sonos plays just fine when connected to computer.

How do you disable your daily Sonos alarm when you're away from your home?

My system keeps skipping to the next song before the end of the current song. It plays a song from a playlist or queue for about 30 seconds and then just skips. I have a Play 1 and Bridge. Please help. I cannot use these products right now.

I recently installed a ethernet wired CONNECT to my Yamaha receiver along with a One to stream music to existing speakers in 2 zones - all is sounding great & I can play my music library on my Mac & stream from Prime Music & Pandora. I also have ethernet wired Apple TV connected to my TV to stream content/music & a Boston soundbar with sub - & my question is this, can CONNECT stream to this existing non wifi soundbar through the Apple TV device? Or would I have to upgrade that to a SONO PLAYBAR or PLAYBASE? Appreciate any ideas/work arounds!

Can you control all your Sonos speakers with one New Sonos one speaker? I.E. can I tell Alexa/Sonos speaker to control other 'older' Sonos to raise volume?

Hi, I have just bought a Sonos Connect and I have connected it to a Parrot speaker. I have now in the same room a Play 1 and my new Connect / Parrot speaker. I have a sync issue. There is a delay between both sounds. How can i solve this issue please ? Thanks, Olivier

My playbar optical lead falls out It plays ok when I hold the lead in place. Sonos want £200 for a repair/swap. How can I take the playbar apart to repair it. I have removed the two screws in the fixing key hole slots. Is there a hidden third screw under the serial no label. I am electricaly competent having built power amps and DACS. Does anybody know a supplier for a new optical socket? Thanks Bill mac

Is there any plan for the Sonos speakers to work with Google Voice Assistant like Alexa? I am currently own several Play 5 speakers so can Sonos make that current product line to work with voice control as well (Alexa/Google Assistant/Siri/Cornata).

Hi. Would it be possible to make it so you can adjust the eq sliders ect by tapping the plus and minus as i find the current method frustrating when dialing in my sound. Also an increase in the resolution of the controls would be nice too.

I bought myself and my father a sonos one. I set my sonos one up at home after 2 attempts and a factory reset I have got it working I can play music manually through Spotify I can use alexa I can use tune in and I can use the limited skills that sonos allows. I get the impression a lot of the skills such as "routine" and "national rail" etc do not work on sonos yet. This is not a huge issue. It doesn't really hinder my usage but for some reason whenever I open my sonos app which I try to do to see what I am doing differently to my dad I just get a " we cant connect to Sonos" "lets try some things" screen... the "things" do not fix it but I'm not overly fussed as my sonos works and it does what I want it to do. THE BIG ISSUE is my dads. He has the exact same system. I have set it up and factory reset it over 15 times and tried every possible order. I have deregistered everything and restarted. I have tried holding play pause button while plugging mains in into botton, held button for several minutes but do not get flashing amber light, after about 1 minute light turns solid white, con not get amber or green light
