Hi there, I have a pair of Play:1s in my living room, and I'm already very impressed with their sound. Nevertheless I'm still planning to add a SUB soon. I'm interested to know, will the addition of a SUB make the Play:1s adjust their frequency responses (i.e. raise their HPF cutoff frequencies) because the sub means they no longer need to extend so low?

Hey,  So i'm getting a playbar soon and i want to connect my existing and new Play1's to the playbar. From reading online it would appear i can connect two providing i use a bridge however im keen to know if I can connect more than the two and if so is it the same process? Also, can i connect Play 3 or 5's to my playbar. thinking of buying some with the playbar and unsure if i should stay with P1's Thanks

Was thinking of positioning the two Play:5s and four Play:1s as shown. Tried to get 3.0 in each of the sweet spots. Curious what you guys think, and what if anything you'd change? BIG thank you!

Hi ok we have a large house, it was easier to have a different broadband and telephone system in the gym rataher than running a lan cable as it was too far. So I want my sonos in the gym as well with my playlists , how do I do this?

Play 1 power consumption when using it or in standby

Morning, I want to have a couple of external speakers to my sonos so I know i will need to get a connect amp for these. My other question is i have a surround sound system with built in amp in my lounge which i would like to use too, can i use the connect amp to connect this too or do I need to buy the sonos connect without the amp? I was instructed to update my Sonos desktop controller software on my laptop running Windows XP. However, following the download I was told that my OS did not support the Sonos desktop. Is it correct that XP is not supported? Thanks. Andy

I am utterly confused and need advice of 5.1 playback on my Playbar. I bought a Playbar and hooked it up to my TV and realized when i checked the settings in the Sonos App it says Stereo. I do not plan on getting any other Sonos products for the TV. I have a TV that will not output 5.1. So here is my dilemma and I would be sincerely appreciative if someone could answer this for me! My set-up is very simple I have a ps4 and a directv box. Both have optical cable connections in the back. When i directly connect the play bar to either source it says I am getting Dolby Digital 5.1. However when I connect my playbar just to the TV using an optical cable it says stereo. So my question is there really a difference in sound quality ? I see people using optical/hdmi splitters to get 5.1 sound but if I do not plan on getting any other speakers and just plan on using the Playbar will it make a difference in sound quality thru the ps4/directv in stereo vs 5.1 ?

Hi I recently just replace my sub as it have some cosmetic defects. My current sub is still under warranty. I have drop a email to sonos support customer service and they told me to begin with a RMA request. Once the RMA is approved they will send a replacement unit. I asked sonos will I get a brand new sub n their answer is your replacement unit will be the same as your current unit. My question is is the replacement unit is a refurbished unit or is brand new? Thanks

I'm considering getting a sonos setup for the kitchen, living room (tv), bedroom and study. I don't need it to be the loudest as I don't want to annoy the neighbours. What would you guys recommend for the following: Kitchen: 2x play 1s? or 1x play 3 Living room (tv): playbase or play 3 & 2x play 1? Bedroom & study: 1x play 1 or 2 in each room? thanks in advance

I have my music in ITunes on a Mac Mini. This used to work ok until 12 months ago when Sonos coul not find the music library. I have tried adding the music folder again but get the same message "Unable to add the shared folder to your Music Library (900). I am able to play online radio overmy Sonos system and play music from other devices eg from a smartphone with Sonos controller installed. I have checked my Ststem Preference > File Sharing and added the Music folder and Itunes Music folder to Shared Folders but this has not resolved the issue. Any suggestions welcome?

Hi, First time poster and a bit of a newb with technology, so forgive me if I can find the answer to my questions elsewhere (I have tried the magic of Google but I have been unsuccessful). If anyone could help me with the following I'd be grateful: 1) About to purchase the Sony KD65ZD9 and want to sit it on the Playbase, however, the Playbase weight limit is 35Kg and the TV weights 35.7Kg - whilst I appreciate this is higher, does anyone know if the 35Kg comes with a tolerance... I can't imagine that it will suddenly crack if the weight is slightly over 35Kg, but I'm worried about failure over time? 2) How can I check if the KD65ZD9 will connect to the Playbase - I would have thought there might be search bar on the Sonos website where you enter the model number and it tells you, but alas, I cannot find such a search bar? 3) Can I purchase a Playbase and 2x Play 1's and have 5.1 Surround Sound, or do I have to purchase the Sub? Hey everyone, I've been reading some of the topics here debating whether one should upgrade a single Play5 (gen2) with an additional Play5 to make a stereo pair, or to add a Sub. I'm using my current Play5 in a relatively small room (say, 16'x12', maybe) with a record player. Depending on how certain records were mastered, I am still having to pump the volume up almost to max on some (yes, the record player has built-in pre-amp), as compared to when I stream music and can destroy the whole house with volume. Because of that, I'm wanting to add another speaker, but the way the room is setup, I'd only be able to place the stereo pair about 3 feet apart, and I know Sonos recommends more like 8 feet. With that in mind, is upgrading to a stereo pair worthwhile, or would it make more sense to add a Sub? I'm wanting to get a bit more volume, but rather than just adding like a Play1 to the room, I figure might as well use this as an excuse to upgrade the sound experience as well. Than

Is there a max number of speakers for a sonos bridge to connect? I've just bought a single sonos one but when I plug it in there is no identification of the sonos network / bridge. Maybe I have too many speakers / rooms set up? I have a single bridge running a playbar / 2 surround one's and a sub as a single TV room, A 5 in the kitchen, a 3 in the garage and I now want to add a sonos 1 as a bathroom. Am I maxed out on the bridge?

This has been a long requested feature for years. Why limit the listening experience to music only? I love the sound when pairing two Play Ones. I wanted to keep them, but the fact I couldn't also stream the sound of my movies from my MacBook was a deal breaker. Why would I want to invest hundreds or thousands on a system that's limited to music only. I have a MacBook Pro, and I watch plenty of movies. Why should I have to buy additional speakers from another company just to enjoy movies? No one should have to resort to buying a play5 only to plug it into an airport express through the auxport. No one wants any more wires sticking out of their speakers. Using the auxport defeats the purpose of a wireless solution. Why won't Sonos allow software driver based audio output through their PC/Mac controllers that will allow any app to stream audio. I just purchased a Play 5 last week. I am completly impressed and am looking forward to buying more components! I seem to have a rattle sound when songs or voices with more bass are playing. It is quite noticable and I am certain there is a fix for this. So, what would the fix be??

A technical question: Is the flat ethernet cable supplied with Sonos equipment "twisted pair" like traditional (round) ethernet cable?

I have a Sonos Connect that is connected to my surround speakers in my living room. In my office I have 1 Play 1 and in my kitchen I have 2 play 1 speakers set up for stereo. All is set up in a single group and it have worked like a charm until a few days ago. Now I have delays of approximately 2 seconds between the speakers in each room. I have tried to look around for a solution, but have not been able to finde anything similar my setup. All speakers are running wireless except the Connect that is wired.

I have Sonos working fine with my existing network, and I use HomeSeer home automation to control it (things like announcing when someone unlocks the front door). The wifi is terrible in our house, so yesterday I installed Google WiFi to have the mesh network so we can seamlessly move between them. Now I cannot work out how to have both HomeSeer (running on PC on original network) accessing Sonos AND have it working from my phone (on the wireless). If I set Sonos up wirelessly it works fine, and is visible for control for my phone, but Sonos desktop and HomeSeer cannot see it. If I set Sonos up wired (original network) then Sonos desktop and HomeSeer can see it, but the Sonos app on my phone insists it doesn't exist. Google WiFi won't work in bridge mode and still have the mesh network. My phone (on the wifi) is able to connect back to my main PC (HomeSeer runs on 192.168.1.3@1000), so it looks like it is open in one direction, or has the right port-forwarding set up, but I can

I've recently purchased a PLAYBASE and I have a lip sync issue on most TV channels. I am using the optical cable. Has anyone else had an issue with this and is It possible to correct the issue?

I have 2 play 5 units paired , and they have worked without a problem since purchase . This morning they, and the paired sub all dropped off the network, When I physically examined the units, one of the play 5 units had no led light on. I have tried different power sockets, and a different power lead, but the unit does not flash the led when switched on, and is not recognised on the network. I used the pair in the morning, put them on mute, and then this afternoon this problem happened. Is their any way to reset or do I need a replacement ?
