Up until today, when I updated the Controller on my Win10 machine, I've had no issues. The Controller worked fine and the rest of the system worked fine. My Sonos speakers are on a separate VLAN from my machine. I have a Virtual IP with a NAT 1:1 mapping set up so that my machine appears to be on the same VLAN as the speakers. Now the machine can't connect to the speakers any more. Something has changed in the Windows version of the Controller. What is it that changed? More detail: Win10 Machine on VLAN 2 Sonos speakers on VLAN3 Router running PFSense 2.4.3_1 (latest release, no changes recently) Virtual IP (IP Alias) on VLAN3 NAT 1:1 Mapping from machine's static IP on VLAN2 => Virtual IP on VLAN 3 As I said, this all worked fine until I updated to the latest Controller software and that was the only change anywhere on the network. Hi, I have bought a couple of Sonos One's. The big question is if i can avoid Echo dots etc completely. And only use Sonos One's for controlling Ex. Harmony Hub, Philips Hue etc.?

Hi all After much deliberation, today I bought a Beam to go with my pair of Play 1s. I have to say that I am very impressed and it is a big improvement on my old sound bar. But... there is an issue that is bugging me. Audio is much quieter on channels that provide a stereo signal compared to those that provide 5.1. I have read that other people have experienced this, mainly with Samsung TVs I think but I have not found a post giving a solution. I am using a Sony Bravia and have tried different audio settings on that but there aren’t that many options. The source of content is from a TiVo box. Can anyone shed any light on a solution to this? Ideally I do not want to go optical. Thanks.

I have had my Sonos Beam for a couple of months now and it has all been working fine, and songs requested have played okay. Yesterday my partner requested a radio station to be played, Alexa used the TuneIn service. Ever since we have been unable to hear songs from Amazon Music Unlimited. I ask Alexa to play them and she says they will start playing but there is no music. Ever since I have been trawling this forum trying to find a solution, but nothing has worked I have tried all 3 reset options on this forum post with no improvement https://en.community.sonos.com/amazon-alexa-and-sonos-229102/alexa-says-she-is-playing-on-kitchen-but-no-sound-comes-out-6800126 I can confirm we have no duplicate names for devices and the Amazon Music services are added correctly We do have a Sonos One in the bedroom, but that was unplugged before the issue started and we have not plugged it in since. Hi, I've had my Plabase + 2 Play:1 set up in surround mode for a year + without any issue. Everything on WiFi setup. The PlayBase has had a wired connection since i got it, but when I got the Play:1s I switched to WiFi as I did not want to add cables to the surrond speakers. A while ago I noticed that there was no longer any sound from the Play:1s. I tried to remove the surround, and re-add it. But it gives me an error. It goes through the set-up, I press the buttons on the speakers to add them to the surround. I get notified this: "Preparing the speakers in this room to work together. This may take a minute." I can play anything on the Play:1s on their own, but I can not add them to the PlayBase as surround speakers. It goes through the set, I press the buttons, and comes to: "Preparing the speakers in this room to work together. This may take a minute." Then I get: "Setup problem There was a problem preparing your speakers. Please check your network c

Purchased a Sonos One to use with Amazon Alexa and have discovered that although I can listen to my favourite radio station, when I ask the Alexa to sleep after any number of minutes, and it acknowledges, the Sonos does not turn off. This feature works perfectly with the Amazon Echo and Dot (which I also own). I have spoken with support who say that this feature is not currently supported however, as a result, I cannot keep the Sonos in my bedroom (where I bought it for), as I wake up every night now with the radio on in the background (which I don't want). Does anyone have a fix or does anyone know IF Sonos are working on resolving this as they don't have any way of checking via the technical helpdesk nor can they automatically inform me when it does become available.

Yesterday my son was in the middle of playing a game on his Xbox One when suddenly the speaker just stopped producing sound it suddenly cut off and 30 min later was making weird cracking noises or something. After that it hasn’t worked what’s so ever. The light shows that its on the buttons are working the app is too. Just no sound on Netflix, Tv, Xbox, Music from Spotify, iTunes Music. Nothing. We tried unplugging it. Nothing. We even rebooted the whole system. Nothing. It’s all set up. And yes the digital Optical cable is in and has the red light. My tv is a Samsung Smart Tv I alao purchased this like a month ago. So I doubt it’s the tv. Yes the tv speaker settings is set on “Audio Out/Optical” I’m disappointed. $700 and this is what I get I’ve only had this product for a couple of weeks! It was working fine. May I know, the meaning of the number that appears behind the "WM: " indication in the "About My Sonos System" dialog? I discover mine seemingly displays random number & the number changes depending on the number of devices that are powered on. So about a week and a half ago, I had some stuff stolen. A Playbar, a Play:3, and three Play:1s. I was able to recover the serial numbers off the "Registered Products" section of Sonos.com. All were listed there that night. Today I looked, and none of the stuff that was stolen is listed under that section, except the Playbar. Interestingly enough, when they took the Playbar, I don't think they took the power cord. Anyways, what I'm wondering is, the fact that those speakers that were taken are no longer listed as my registered products, does that mean they are now registered to somebody else? And does that mean somehow they can be tracked?

Sonos Beam - How do you connect multiple devices. Can i connect multiple devices and switch seamlessly. So for instance i have an LG TV (with ARC), BT Box, Apple TV and Xbox One S. How do i connect all to use the beam? Will it automatcally pick up the sound if i connect the beam my TV via the ARC port? Or would i need to hook each up to the beam using HDMI/Optical? Thoughts please?

Ryan S or anyone who works at Sonos, its inconvenient to have to say “switch to tv” every time we want the Beam to play tv sound. Since the soundbar is first and foremost for Tv, can you default the Beam to automatically switch itself back to Tv mode after playing music? That would create a more seamless experience

I live an area with many WiFi networks. My Sonos keeps dropping out or skipping in the middle of a song. I get a message that says “unable to play....”. Previously I had a Bridge wired to router and had very few problems. Bridge crapped out after about 10 years. Since it crapped out we switched to WiFi from Boost setup. Now we have problems. My question is will a wired Boost and Boost network help? My Sonos used to be so reliable. Not so much anymore.

When Alexa is asked to "Turn on TV" the beam turns my Toshiba TV on to the Sonos Beam screen saver HDMI-1 (ARC) and not onto the actual TV channels. I then have to use the TV remote to switch it to TV...Making using Alexa a pointless issue.. 2nd problem is if any other device is plugged into the remainder HDMI ports (Like android box) and tv speakers are off to use the beam as soon as the android box is turned off the beam disconnects and TV speakers come back on and can not be changed again unless the android box is unplugged from the HDMI port.. The only way I could get this to work with some normality was to use the optical adapter, so I could have the tv speakers off and the beam worked on both TV and android box. The only trouble is now there is no volume control via the remote due to TV speakers being off and no ARC to control the beam..So its "Alexa turn the volume down" or "Alexa turn the volume up" Oh sure I can do this via the app but I would have been better off just buying

The optical cable supplied with the playbar fits nicely into the TV. However, it seems to be a bit loose in the Playbar. You can remove it almost by blowing. It works, but does not feel very solid, not tight. Is this normal?

My Play:1 is connected Via Ethernet to my laptop via firewire. I use SonoAir to be able to use it as an output for my MAC, allowing me to use it for youtube, etc. I make music and i have been able to make it work as an output in logic pro x audio settings. But there is that delay of some seconds which is annoying but i work around it. The quality is amazing for this speaker and a good innovation, Make it better by fixing this issue for all play:1 owners. And all future Sonos products. IM looking for a better way to get no delay to keep making good music. Im aware of buying an amp, which i will just not this second. what if...

Hello, I have 2 Echo Dots that work fine on their own. I have a Sonos surround system downstairs, Play 1 upstairs. I've connected everything with the Alexa skill for Sonos. I've eliminated any naming conflicts. Using Amazon Unlimited works flawlessly for me, pushing the music to the Sonos room of my choice. However, using Tunein is another story. If I play tunein on the Echo Dot without pushing it to Sonos, it works fine (I listen to Tunein on the Echo Dot every day). When I try to play Tunein on one of the Sonos rooms, it says it's doing it, but no sound ever comes out of the speakers. As I said, Amazon Unlimited comes out of the Sonos speakers from the Echo Dot just fine, so the Alexa to Sonos connection is fine. This issue is limited to Tunein. All stations I try. Both of my Sonos room setups. Both Echo Dots being used as the source. Anyone have any idea how to get Tunein to work properly like Amazon Unlimited is working? I'd love to be listening to these radio stations

I'm looking to round out my Sonos setup and was considering the Beam to replace my Echo Dot in the tv room. The only place I can put the Beam inside a cabinet. There would be clearance of 2 inches on each side and 3 inches on the top. The manual for the Playbar specifically says not to place it in a cabinet but the Beam has no such language. Anyone have any experience with the Beam in a cabinet? Also, my tv has an empty ARC HDMI. Will that transmit all the audio to the Beam from the tv regardless of the remaining inputs selected? Any feed back greatly appreciated, far more interested in the Beam placement comments...

New Beam not working with hdmi or optical cable have tried both can't see a hdmi arc output just a Dvi output Music works fine but not the TV I have a sky box

I have a Playbar, two Play1s, one Sub, and two Connect:Amps (one pushing 2 ceiling speakers for the surrounds, and one pushing 4 ceiling speakers for general purpose). I have the Playbar, Connect (with the 2 ceiling speakers) and the TV on the home network via Ethernet cable. I was told I can have the Connect:Amp push the surround sound to the theater setup but have not figured out how to do so in the app; I am using the Sonos app for Android to set things up.

I am wondering if I can create a home theater surround system 3.1 or 5.1 with a SONOS Connect (connected to two actice AudioPro speakers), a SONOS sub and 2 SONOS ONE speakers? Or do I need a SONOS Beam or so to make a surround system?

Hey all! I know this has been asked a thousand times already, but i still cant find an answer. Most of people here and on reddit seems to agree that 2 play 1/ONE in stereo are better than a play 5. Is it just the people listening at lower volumes and more mellow tunes that thinks this? The play 5 surely must be better? My current ONE struggles past 60% volume in my ears. I like to listen to mostly hiphop and EDM, and im thinking of either buying a second ONE or changing my current ONE to a play 5. Im only gonna use this in 1 room for several years. What is the better choice for loud and bassy experience? Thanks!
