My son moved into my home bringing his own Sonos device. When he logged on with his account, all Sonos devices in my house which were registered on my account suddenly where registered under his account and had to transfer ownership to my account to get access again. How is this possible? He did not have access to my account. How can this be prevented?

I have no interest in "smart" speakers. I just want to use Sonos as a way of streaming audio from my devices. Is it possible to completely disable Alexa and Siri voice control of the Sonos system using the Sonos app, rather than a button on the speaker? I know this is possible with the HomePod, but I've heard it's not with Sonos One. We have a 7-year old daughter with friends that have these speakers, so she knows how they work. My concern is that she will just press the button on the speaker to turn the functionality back on if that is the only way to turn it off.

At the moment im owning a yamaha ysp 2700 soundbar. Before that i had the playbar but ended up selling it cause it lacked HDMI. Now that the beam is out with hdmi im seriously considering switching back. I think the ysp 2700 is the better soundbar, but sonos is sonos. I have a rather large living room (9m by 6m) and im sitting at 4m from the soundbar. Is the beam capable of throwing sound that far in the room? Thanks :)

Hi Support community, my Harmony Ultimate Remote stopped controlling volume on my SONOS soundbar within the last month. Environmentally nothing has changed. Same wi-fi, same tv same tv service, etc. I have disconnected the Harmony hub and reset it, I have done the same for the remote, nothing. I even have one of the Harmony sensors right underneath the soundbar IR (not sure if it is necessary or not but I found it working best this way since I don't always have the remote facing the IR - may be in a different room). Remote controls the TV and the DirecTv box with no problem. What to do?

Thank you for the latest UI update on Sonos Controler, looks better. One feature that I have been missing for a long time is a simple shortcut key for pause and play. For example F5 or Space. Now Spece/Enter do the trick IF you have the Play/Pause button activated, but if you have for example just adjusted the volume, Space/Enter do nothing. Also good UI design requires that all the functions that you have on the UI should be accessible without clicking with mouse.

The title pretty much says it all: where are the microphones located? Are the at the top of the speaker? The bottom? Where?

The Sonos Controller for Mac looks like it was designed in the 1990s, the interface of the iPhone/iPad app is so much better to use and nicer to look at. Why has this not been updated?? When with the Mac Controller be updated? it can't be that big of a job to reskin it . . . ?

Analog input How to get sound

Reading a review of v 9.2 both Engadget at Mac World talk about our new ability to set a Max Volume in a roon, yet I see no way to accomplish this. Any suggestions?

I currently have an existing home theatre 5.1 surround sound in wall wired speakers and whole house audio that consist of in ceiling wired speakers in 4 separate rooms (circa 2010). They are are currently run by a receiver that has 5.1 and a switch that allows me to run different media into the other rooms. Now that I am using Apple TV solely (no cable/Fios just internet), I would like to clean up and simplify my system while using the existing speakers. Ideally, I like to be able to play Hulu TV or a movie using 5.1 surround and extend to other rooms, or be able to strictly airplay from my phone to other rooms while someone else is watching Apple TV. Sonos AMP looks promising but doesn't support 5.1 surround with existing wired speakers and do I have to get multiple devices in order to incorporate the whole house audio? Any solution options would be helpful. Thanks!

I've got this option with the new upgrade.

Hey community. I am wondering if it is possible to set things up in this arrangement in a new build. I have the idea in my mind, but I'm not sure if it actually works. In the living room, I want to set up the TV to be connected to a Playbar, then bond a Sonos Sub to it. Then where things will get funky is that I also want to bond a new Sonos Amp (powering 2 in ceiling speakers which happen to be way behind the TV) to be the surrounds. Effectively a 5.1 channel setup for the TV (as long as the 5.1ch signal is fed through the optical in to the Playbar, which decodes it to the sub and in ceiling surrounds. If this works, the idea is also that whenever I play music to this zone, it will fire up all the speakers; Playbar, Sub, and Amp (in ceiling) at the same time as well. Can a Sonos Amp even just act a part of a zone and not be its own?? Does this work? Has anyone tried something similar with a Connect:Amp, Sub, and Playbar? Also, another reason for this sort of arrangement i

I received a phishing email after I started using Radio by TuneIn through the Sonos app. It stated I had a trial for 1 week and then I would be charged $34.99 per month. When I clicked on the review/Cancel link, it asked me to log into my Apple ID. Then it stated I had to Unlock my account, and then enter all kinds of information from SSN to driver license, mother's maiden name, you name it. Has anyone else experienced this? I reported this to Apple. But I feel this is a Sonos problem.

I have tried researching this but have found very little info that wasn't very helpful. I have Playbar, Sub, and two Play 1s in rear. (5.1) I would like to add two Play 3s on either side of my Playbar to widen the origin of sound in front of me. The only way that I see to add speakers is for surround, but these Play 3s would need to play L&R sound. Is 7.1 sound supported by Sonos, or is there a way around this? I wanted to ask someone on here before I go blow $500 only to find out it doesn't work. - Thanks

I have been looking to get into the Sonos community and I think the Beam will fit my needs. I am looking to replace my current amp and bookshelf speakers with the Beam. So my final setup is hopefully my TV and turntable connected into the Beam. The TV part is simple, but I am looking to see if anyone has had success with connecting a turntable to the Beam. I have a Audio Technica LP120, with a prebuilt phono preamp. The output is RCA, but I am hoping that an RCA to Optical output would do the trick, something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00ATNWBZU/?coliid=I1ZRBWDSO4G3YC&colid=SAP98B5UJ6WI&psc=0 Anyone have any success with this, or does this, in theory, make sense?

Hi, everyone! ? I have read many useful advices here. However, it's not clear to me what to choose in my case. I'm going to buy Sonos to listen to Classical and Jazz music and to connect my system to a TV. I will put it in the middle-size living room in the house and the budget is 1,5K. I'm looking at Beam + 2 Play:5s combo. Will it be enough for my purposes? ? Another combo may be: Beam + Sub + 2 Play:1s. But I think it's better for TV experinece...? What do you think, guys?

does anyone know how to group a couple of ONEs with other dot / speak combo? So frustrating having multiple groups when I just want one group of all speakers

Hi all, I recently moved and decided to replace my Play:5 gen 1 with a surround system so I got the Playbar, a pair of Play:1's and a Sub. A few weeks ago I unpacked my Play:5 and found it was dead, it has been replaced under warranty so I now have a gen 2 but I wondered if there is any benefit of using this in my home? The only reason I can think of is Airplay 2 which I'd like as I have Apple mobile devices, but reading up it sounds like the only way to have Airplay 2 work with my surround setup is if I group them with my Play:5. Does this mean that if I wish to stream Airplay 2 to my surround the Play:5 must also be playing the same audio? My space isn't large enough to warrant this and it seems a waste to have such a good speaker used purely as a way to stream from my phone to the surround. I know the Beam would accomplish what I want but I much prefer the size/design of the Playbar, the Beam would look too small under my TV and going by pricing I'd hope the audio is better o

I have a Marantz M-CR603 with two wired speakers in my kitchen and I have a Sonos Playbar with sub in my lounge and a Play 1 in another room. Please can someone advise me how I can join the Marantz with the Sonos Playbar i.e. so I can make the Marantz part of my Sonos group i.e. so I can play music on all outlets at the same. Thank you very much.

I have set everything up and Alexa /sonos one will repeat the command , but then it will not follow through to change the channel . is it not available ?

My Sonos device is connected to my WiFi which make it easy for me to connect to it. This also makes it easy for my roommate to connect to my device and take over or blast music from my room when I am trying to focus on something. Is it possible to make my device only recognize my phone?

I’m trying to set up a remote control to work with a Playbar. The app keeps telling me it’s detecting button presses on my remote even when I’m not pressing buttons. The remote setup fails because the Playbar is detecting phantom button presses but not real ones. I tried this with two different remotes and did a factory reset of the Playbar, to no avail. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks! Carl

So I have the JU6400 Samsung UHD TV. It has an ARC HDMI port, and 2 other HDMI ports. I connected the Beam with ARC, and Apple TV 4K on a regular (STB) HDMI port. Turned on AnyNet+ from the Samsung menu to have it see the Beam on HDMI-CEC (ARC). Except they don't want to talk to each other! I have played around with every setting on both devices to have the audio from the TV routed through a "Receiver" (Beam) option on TV, but no sound gets outputted. I have even turned off CEC control in the Apple TV settings without success. I have read multiple forums here and otherwise and tried with every possible setting, unless I am missing something obvious somewhere. ANY TIPS?? The other route I took from Optical Out from TV using the Optical-HDMI adapter. I got sound, yayyy! Except, then I got to know that the TV is programmed to not output Dolby/DTS surround sound when the input is 3rd-party HDMI input which is Apple TV in this case. Meaning, I am now listening in Stereo!! UGGHHH!

When will the Sonos Beam be available in Hong Kong? Which retailers will carry them?
