Just got the new Alexa integration working but where are the Audible Audiobooks???!!! This is my number one use case and been waiting for two years since Sonos broke the previous integration. Come on people!

I've owned two Sonos:1 and a Playbase for a few months and have not had any problems with them until now. They were all grouped together under "Living Room." However, a few days ago when I opened my Sonos app it said that a speaker had been lost from the group so I needed to reconnect. It wouldn't let me do anything else until I tried to re-add this lost speaker. I was quickly able to get the Sonos:1 speakers reconnected and grouped in Living Room. However, each time I try to add the Playbase, it won't chime when pressing the button and then just flashes orange for awhile, then changes to solid orange, then eventually solid white. It will not connect.

Can you give me the external box dimensions for the sound bar please.I need this for shipping. Thanks

Just had a 4K Blu-ray which only has a 7.1 audio track. When playing the app states stereo output. Are there any plans to support 7.1 audio tracks or drop the extra 2 channels and just output to 5.1v

I'm looking for a little advanced help on getting my Sonos speakers to work on a weird network configuration. I have a pfSense gateway, which runs my unifi wifi controller software on top. My wifi is set up with two networks: a primary network (vlan 4) and a IoT network (vlan 3). I specifically prevent the IoT network from reaching out to the Internet, it is only allowed to reach back to the primary network. So, primary network (VLAN 4) can reach everything with all protocols, and IoT network (vlan 3) can only reach back to VLAN4 on all protocols. I enabled pfSense 'allow ip options' on both interfaces on their main allow flow rules. I have a single unifi AP, which is connected directly to my pfSense gateway (no switches in the path, to aid in troubleshooting). I tried using pfSense IGMP Proxy which doesn't seem like it actually does anything. So, I grabbed and compiled udp-broadcast-relay-redux and compiled it for pfsense. Do we know whether the Playbar is streaming its input uncompressed? If I connect an analogue source to a Connect, and have that music streamed uncompressed to, for example, a Play 1, then I can see that the bit rate is something like 1.5 Mbits/s, which is touch higher than a WAV file but close enough and therefore as expected. I play my music using a Playbar (nothing to do with a TV, I just happen to have a spare Playbar). If I connect a digital music source via Toslink to a Playbar, and have that music streamed to a Play 1 then I can see a much lower bit rate: something like 400kbits/s. The only explanations I could think of are: i) The Playbar is compressing, lossy, (using SBC?). ii) The Playbar is compressing, lossless, (using FLAC?) (to make transmissions to other speakers more efficient?) Could anyone shed any light on this please?

if i purchase Connect, can i stream content from my PC to sonos speakers in other parts of house?

I am a new user setting up a system for my father so he can using Alexa commands to listen to music stored on my mom's computer. (He's very computer-phobic). I can get Alexa to open up the music library and start playing at random, and from there to skip a track. But I can't get it to start playing a particular song or artist. Even more confusing, if I say, for example, "Alexa, play Warren Zevon," it will start playing Warren Zevon songs that are not in my library. I don't know where this music is coming from! I removed all streaming services. Help!

I bought a play one thinking "oh nice I can add Alexa to my Sonos 1 and create a stereo pair"

I am curious to know if alexa on the play one is able to do drop in. If it is not then when would it possibly be available? Thanks

I have a small bar 1,500sf, with 14ft ceilings, and my electrician is suggesting I use Sonos rather than hard wiring speakers etc...Would the system provide sufficient sound quality and disbursement once the bar is full and the volume cranked? I'm not familiar with the system but he suggests the 5's, I'm more inclined to go with the hard wired system as its tried and tested, but any feedback would be great.

I have been checking the forums and found 2 suggestions for HDMI switchs but neither of those can be found in most EU counties, especially Austria/Germany. Is this a good purchase? It is half the price than the other recommended switches and I am concerned that it has some major flaws that you only find out after buying. Setup is a Playbar with two sonos play 1 speakers set as the surround sound and a connect attached to a record player. Playbase connected directly to my tv via optical cable. My TV (vizio m series) allows two audio output formats, PCM and Bitstream. Sound is coming out of my L+R surround but it's faint (even with TV surround audio all the way up). When I check "about my sonos" it says Audio In is stereo. When playing music (either through spotify on sonos app or record play) the surround sound is MUCH louder and "about my sonos" Audio In is blank. I'm trying to achieve louder/better sound from the surround sound while watching TV and I hear the lack of Dolby Digital 5.1 as the Audio might be issue, what are my options here?

The playbar offers 2 IR sensors. I've been using the side or edge IR sensor and now would like to change and use the other IR senor. I cannot get the other senor to work. The senor light will not respond.

We set up our new sonos with alexa a couple of months ago and she worked fine for about 2 weeks. Then voice services just completely stopped working. In the app, it looks like everything is still fine. So we disconnect Alexa and reconnect and it works fine. Again for about two weeks. This keeps happening over and over and it really frustrating. Any ideas?

I have moved my two play 5s from one room to my TV room to use as rear speakers for the surround sound. I was able to add them just fine, however, when I went to tune the system there is no True Tune to select on my app. I have an iPhone X

I tried connecting my LG Magic Remote with my Playbase, without success. I've already read related topics on this forum and also the help article that is available here: https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4267 According to the help article I need to go to 'device connector', then select soundbar, then select a manufacturer and a remote type. However, I do not get the latter 2 options (select manufacturer and remote type). All I can do under device connector is select soundbar and then 'optical'. So far during my Sonos setup my LG Magic remote cannot be found. My LG WebOS seems to be up-to-date. Are there any options to connect my LG Magic Remote to my Playbase? Thanks, Steven

It would be great if changing radio station was possible in a Sonos One without the need of the phone.

I have a curved Smart-Touch remote for my Samsung TV and have gone through the Sonos setup process, but the Playbar does not recognize the volume button signals (I'm assuming this is due to RF signals??). The strange part is that when the TV is set to TV/arial source (not HDMI) the playbar volume works!? When I switch to my other sources the volume does not work. If I configure the Playbar to work with the IR remote, everything works, but I'd much rather use the Smart-Touch remote. Any clues as to how to best fix this? (I did not get a IR repeater with my TV, although it has the external connector for HDMI etc) I have the Playbar connected via the optical port. All help appreciated!

I was speaking with customer service a few days ago and they mentioned that new Sonos speakers are typically revealed toward the end of the calendar year. Is there a particular event where they show them? The design aesthetic of the Sonos line is what I might call mid-century modern or utilitarian. The Sonos One seems to improve things a bit over the Play:One. I seem to remember that they came out with a 'jazz' verison of the Play:One. Maybe there were a few other special editions as well. Does anyone know of any plans to redesign the visual aesthetic or possibly add more speakers to the line? Would love to see a Play:Seven added to the lineup.

I've spent a few weeks trying to understand the capabilities of Sonos speakers - think I'm getting there. For a few years I've been using iMac/iTunes to Airplay music to 3 speakers around the house, but the arrival of an Echo dot and having signed up to Prime music (limited package) means I want to make more of this. Please could someone help to clarify my thoughts, concerns and fears... 1) Looking to buy 3 Sonos Ones & Playbase. (Likely the Echo Dot will be redundant, but feel it's worth buying the more recent 'Ones' than Play 1s.) 2) It sounds like I can still stream my iTunes library/ Playlists via the Sonos App. Presumably I could also control this from my iPhone/iPad as long as the Mac remains switched on? 3) Sounds like Airplay 2 is also on the way (including Playbase?). Not sure how this would necessarily improve things, although I've read about failings in the Sonos App when it comes to functionality but don't know what.
