Play:1 vs Beam

I have two Play:1s that cover most of my small house. I'm thinking of getting a third Play:1 but now I'm unsure if I should get a Beam for the Living Room and move the Play:1 that's currently there to the office. I don't need "big" sound and mostly appreciate the multi-room playing in sync capability. For music and radio, is the Beam any better or worse sound quality than the Play:1s? My TV sound seems OK, but maybe I just don't know what I'm missing. My TV has HDMI, but not ARC. Which should I get?

I would say the Beam is slightly better than a Play:1. Not as good as 2 Play:1s set in stereo.

If TV doesn't have ARC you can still setup with optical out.

Hi 2TinEars

I'd go with the Beam connected to your TV via Optical. Although you won't be able to control your TV via voice commands Alexa will still be available for like "Alexa what time is it" or "Alexa, play smooth jazz"

Cheers!
