Hi I got Sonos Play:1 speaker and trying to get it to work with SonosTube iPhone app but gettitng an error code 2 message saying “SonosTube failed to play the video on iPhone/ iPad. Reopen the SonosTube app.” I tried restarting the app 3-4 times but no luck. Does anyone know what this error is about and how to resolve it ? PS: speaker works fine with same iPhone using Sonos Controller app. Thanks, Vishal

Hey guys, I’m having issues with this for a while now and it’s bugging me. My setup is as follows: Sony Bravia smart tv Sonos Beam connected through HDMI ARC Whenever I stream a Netflix title with 5.1 sound (which is default), the sound hiccups once in a while. Could be every minute, once in a few minutes or multiple times in a few seconds. As soon as I switch to the non 5.1 sound, everything is fine. Also, if I pull out the hdmi arc cable with a 5.1 netflix title streaming and sound switches to built in tv speakers, everything is fine as well. Any ideas how to remove the hiccups? Thanks!

New sonos play:1 user. had the speaker since december with no issues, playing songs from my spotify app to sonos wirelessly with no skips and stopping of songs. in the past week every song i play this is happening to all of a sudden. i’m aware of sonos current issue with auto lock and airplay feature, both have always been turned off on my phone and still same issue. have rebooted, redownloaded, reset etc. i have tried to change wireless channel on the IP address but can’t figure out how to do that yet? Have also been getting the notification ‘unable to play (insert song) - network connection speed insufficient to maintain playback buffer’. seems like an obvious wi-fi issue but i’m not great with tech stuff and my usual switch off switch on trick hasn’t worked, so i’m stumped. no other wi-fi related issues in the house and sonos used to play perfectly before last week. submitted diagnostic, configuration number is 696190640 any help would be appreciated!

Loved Sonos so much, that we bought one for our 2nd home. However finding it's not possible to get Alexa and/or Amazon Music Unlimited to work at both locations. Is there any workaround?

My LG Television will not connect to my newly purchased Beam. Have tried both the ARC and Optical with no luck. The sound does work with Spotify but not the TV? Anyone with similar issues that has a resolution?

I am wondering if it is possible to have 5.1 or 7.1 system with Sonos in my great room. This would be part of 14 zone system in a home that is currently being built.. Most of the other zones will have a pair of ceiling speakers running off a Sonos Connect:Amp. The 7.1 or 5.1 system would have either 4 or 6 Sonance ceiling speakers (140 watts max output) and front center channel speaker or the Sonos Playbar and a subwoofer. I would want to use the Sonos iPad App to control the system when playing music, but use a URC remote when operating the television. Do not want to have to use both. Want to avoid using a remote to choose music source before using the Sonos App. Wondering if there is a receiver that would allow this or a way to do this. Would the the Onkyo “Works with Sonos” receivers allow this? Would another option would be to use four ceiling speakers with new Sonos:Amp with Sonos playbar and subwoofer. Would the Sonos:Amp be able to power the four Sonance ceiling s

I've tried everything trying to get 5.1 surround. I even bought a new TV, I have the beam and two play 1's (okay 5.0). Beating my head against the wall for weeks trying to figure this out, I stop feeding the optical chord to my TV and I buy a fosom splitter to go directly to my PC, the option to go 5.1 is finally no longer grayed out on my PC. I select it and I can' wait to hear my sound test....low and behold, still no 5.1. After countless digging I'm now hearing optical chords don't support 5.1, but instead mixes down to a 2.1. But that can't be true because SONOS said 5.1. So which is it? Does my Beam support 5.1 dd or not? Is it the optical chord that's down mixing 2.1? Will buying an HDMI splitter fix this annoying problem?

Hi had loads of trouble setting up my new Beam with my brand new Philips tv Finally got it to turn on and off and adjust volume etc but when I play music and “stop” I can not get the tv sound output until I turn the TV on and off !! Very frustrating

Well, until Friday everything was just fine, I could make requests to Alexa. Since then the microphone is off and I can't turn it back on. I've tried rebooting the unit, I've tried numerous times to turn it on including pressing the mic for 5 seconds. If I press the mic I can make requests and Alexa responds, just can't seem to turn it back to the "on" state. Any guidance appreciated?

I have a Beam hooked up to an LG Smart-tv (pre WebOS). The tv supports HDMI-CEC (LG Simplink) and ARC. Setup vas generelly very smooth and I had sound and remote-control via IR working in minutes. Unfortunately, I am not able to control the TV via Alexa. I went through the tv's various settings for Simplink, which included doing a full reset of the TV to set everything up from scratch. Simplink is enabled and works perfectly for the attached Chromecast, which is immediatly detected by the tv as a Simplink-device, enabling control over the tv via the Chromecast. The Beam is however not detected as a Simplink-device and consequently Alexa has no control over the tv. The TV will turn on if I ask Alexa to turn on the Beam, but that is it. I noticed that other members have wrongfully concluded that HDMI-CEC must be working because their tv's were turning on as I describe. Hi - I have an older Sonos 5 and connect system (so not voice enabled). My daughter has an Alexa upstairs, which when she speaks to it, means that the Sonos downstairs cuts out. Not sure how to rectify this. Over xmas I played around with it and actually connected it, so when I "borrow" it downstairs, I can voice control the Sonos. All great. Until she reclaims it and uses it upstairs - again it interferes with the Sonos and in fact it's worse now, as the music she wants to play then switches and comes through the Sonos downstairs. Have read threads and it seems to be a problem without a solution for the time being. I would like the Sonos to be voice controlled - so was thinking of keeping the Alexa downstairs (used purely for voice control) and buying her a replacement voice controlled speaker - such as Google Home, to use upstairs. Doe anyone know if the Google Home interferes with Sonos? Many thanks in advance!

The Sonos One is my first Sonos and the experience so far has been frustrating. Finally got Alexa working then one day it stopped responding. I have amazon alexa products that work fine. I noticed that on Alexa App that I had Sonos One listed and 'Foyer'. I deleted 'Sonos One' as I was having streaming issues and I thought there was a conflict. Now it not working at all. I can still operate the sonos with the sonos android app.

Most of us "smart home" people have multiple devices in each room (lights, sonos, echos, etc). And most of our homes have the same rooms (kitchen, bedroom, den, etc.). What is the best practice naming convention for this situation? I am asking because I typically get a response from Alexa along the lines of "there are multiple devices named Kitchen, which one do you want?".

After an update to the Sonos software this weekend, the Alexa integration is "broken" in that now, starting music using voice commands breaks apart groups of speakers. Are there new commands, or is there a way to roll back the software version to one that actually worked? If this is the "new normal," then I will need to discuss returning all of the Sonos products I own and looking into a new Alexa compatible system.

I am worried the answer to this question is one pair only. Anyone know ?

I recently set up two Sonos connects to control my existing home speaker system. I have already had lots of issues with my WiFi so we have multiple WiFi networks throughout our home to have everyone on a good connection. However when it comes to Sonos it appears to only be able to be on one WiFi network. The network doesn’t reach either connect with that great of a signal. The problem arises that while I’m walking around my house the app seems to lose connection or can’t find the system. So my question is would it be better to buy a boost or is this a WiFi networking problem that I need to fix with wireless access points? Also would wiring one of the connects help this?

I currently have the sonos beam and 2 sonos one speakers. I'm planning on purchasing the sub asap to create 5.1 surround sound but I wondered if I was to purchase another 2 sonos one speakers, could they all link together to create a 7.1 surround sound system ?

I think this is a recurring theme but haven't seen a topic that actually solves my issue so hoping an expert will be able to help here. We've a couple of Sonos Ones just installed. They are working fine using WIFI and have elements such as Spotify set-up and they've been paired together, so basic config seems OK. Alexa seems to be working OK on it too. The speakers are visible from my phone such that I can direct streams to them, turn them on/off etc. We also installed a pair of Smart Life UP111 sockets to have a go using these devices via Alexa. I can control them using Alexa on my phone and from an Echo Dot but The Sonos speakers can't see them. I don't see anything in the Sonos config that I need to change and am stuck. Is it obvious to you what I have done wrong? Pretty sure the Alexa on the Sonos is meant to be able to control this kind of device? Thanks

Looking to set up guest access to Sonos during parties, without giving up main wifi network info. I understand I could just set it up on a guest network, but I use Sonos daily on my main network (along with other devices) and do not want to have to switch between guest and main network every time I have guests. I have 3 Play ones and a Bridge. Any insight here?

Followed instructions from jvc model LT-40C750(A) to connect through the play bar but it still no sound through speakers only the tv The instructions are for HDMI-ARC as i could not find anything to suggest what to do when connecting to SPDIF Can anyone shed some light on this?
