I just got and connect streamer, what would be the proper wiring from the sonos connect to the Rotel using the orca jacks. Which one would it get plugged into the r/c/l or other input to power 4 outdoor polk atrium 4 speakers any help would be appreciated

Hey everybody. Really excited about the new voice enabled Sonos One! I would love to put one in my living room where I currently have the complete 5.1 setup. Can I move one of the surrounds to a different room and link the new One with an old Play:1? Will the voice activation work when the Sonos One is in the surround configuration?

same here. I tried 2 remotes. they do work but I have to point super close. hopefully a software update will help. I am using alexa now for volume control

Connected Beam to ARC point on Samsung television. Music works well but sound on TV keeps cutting out - any ideas ?

I've just installed a Beam and I'm trying to set it as the Alexa device for a group/room, but it doesn't show up as one. It does show as an Echo and Alexa device in the Alexa app.

Hi I'm pretty new to all this. Just got a Sonos Beam (to go with an LG OLED55B8SLC TV). It's my only bit of Sonos kit so far. Under sound settings, I have the option to choose either PCM or auto. The setup instructions don't seem to mention which to go for. Which should I choose? (I'm connected via HDMI/ARC). Thanks!

I just installed a Beam and I found in the settings how to adjust sounds but when I do there is no difference. I have an iPhone and not using beta.

Just noticed that in last few days when I say “Play X in bedroom” instead of the group that bedroom is in playing, bedroom is ungrouped and playback started independently. When did this change, is it configurable, and if not what’s the recommendation for how groups should work now? I have 10 zones and often listen in different combinations. My expectation is that I can address any member of a group to control the whole group. Am I supposed to create groups in the Alexa app and always start playback with them instead? That’s fiddly.

Hi Sonos Community, I'm having an issue with my living room 5.1 right now where my Play One's (with Alexa) aren't working with my 5.1 surround. Here's the situation. I bought a Playbase, Sub, and two Sonos 1's last year. I also bought the Alexa enabled "One's" pair for my bedroom last year as well. This year, I nabbed the Beam for my bedroom which is Alexa enabled. SO with that said, I Swapped my 1's and One's from bedroom to living room and vice versa. (One's went from the bedroom to Living room // Living room 1's went into the Bedroom since the Beam is Alexa enabled). The beam paired seamlessly with the older 1's ( I guess creating 5.0 for the bedroom) and it works. HOWEVER, the Sonos One's (with Alexa) don't work with my playbase now. I keep getting an error when pairing them to the playbase. I've even reset the sonos One's and nothing. They work as speakers when unpaired and standalone/stereo as two speakers. Despite the error, they still show as: Living Room (+Sub+LS+RS).

Since long time back (12m) my Sonos stopped working. When trying to start the Sonos app and start playing it says the Sonos Controller needs to be updated. The problem; it cant update. It tries for a while and then says it couldn’t update. It gives error code 1101 which is a general error for problem communicating. Have tried the diagnostic report with the Sonos support but problem remains. Doesn’t help to unplugg and reconnect devices. Have also reinstalled the entire network, same problem. I’m using a TP-LINK AC1750 router and wunder if anyone have any tips and tricks how to solve this? Maybe some router settings that needs to be configured??? Thanks

I would like to listen to my TV from my SONOS Playbase but I also have a Bang and Olufsen Beosystem with speakers that I can connect to the optical OUT of my TV. Can I use a Splitter to choose my TV sound? Any kind of splitter ?

Is there any known work around to enable listening to a Sonos speaker via Bluetooth headphones? Thanks

I just purchased the Beam. Already have (4) Play 3s and (2) Play Ones and a bridge. Had already experienced some lag and intermittent cut out so through trial and error I reset the WIFI channel to 11 and got the existing speakers worked fine. I added the Beam to a Samsung UN43NU6900FXZA 4K UDH television. I connected using HDMI cables. Set up the Beam using the Sonos App. Though there were a couple hiccups, it connected and created a Theater Systems with the Beam and (2) Play 3s. Works fine for 3, 5 even 15 minutes then audio cuts out while watching TV. It might stay off for 3, 5 or even 15 minutes, then it cuts on. I played with the TV settings for audio which allowed for TV speakers, HDMI, and a third Optical option. It came up as connected to HDMI. When I toggled up to TV SPEAKER it would for a brief moment, play on the TV but then it would shift back to HDMI still with no sound. If I moved it to optical, it wouldn't stay there either. After update to 8.4. my android controllers are not displaying the Music Library (local smb share on an ArchLinux NAS). Songs off the NAS play fine if I start them from a Sonos playlist that contains LIbrary Music, but they wont show up in the Android controller, Library is shown on the CR100 controller (have not checked desktop apps as I mostly use linux). I tried reindexing the share, deleting and adding the share (which seems to work as playlists still play). Does any one face a similar issue? Submited diagnostic 1661247771 for this.

I have an ingoing issue what I cannot find a solution to online. I cannot get 5.1 Dolby sound to work only stereo when I use my Xbox One X and using a sonos beam for sound via my Samsung TV (QE55Q8FNATXXU). This works fine in 5.1 dolby on apps on the actual tv but not via my external device xbox one x on passthrough. (HDMI) I have my sonos beam connected via HDMI ARC on the TV on the correct port. The option to select anything but PCM in the TV's sound settings is greyed out. and the settings to change from stereo to 5.1 or bitstream will also not work/select on my xbox, only stereo uncompressed is working. For such an expensive TV and great brand like Sonos I expected no problems like this. Hope someone can help it's driving me nuts.

I’m a little confused, I like to control my Sonos One by voice. I’ve been doing that easily by talking to the One directly using Alexa. However, when I’m out of range/have to shout to Alexa, it would be nice to instead just talk to Alexa using my iPhone (maybe this is where Siri steps in?). Is that feature possible now that Airplay 2 is around? Thanks

I have just bought a Playbase and 2 Play:1 speakers. I have set them up as surround sound with true sound but the TV sound from my Playbase takes over and I can hardly hear the Play:1 rear speakers. How can I have simultaneous sound from all three (Playbase an Play:1) but be able to adjust the sound + and - in each Play:1 rear speaker?

I just purchased a Sonos Beam and Sony 900f. The Sonos beam is plugged in via the Sony HDMI eARC port, and the TV will initially turn on. However, after I turn the TV off and it's off for an extended period of time (perhaps 12+ hours), the TV will not turn back on. Nothing else is plugged into the Sony TV or the Sonos beam and both are running the latest updates. I tried doing a factory reset on the Sony TV, same issue. I'm pretty sure this problem only started after I hooked up the Beam and likely only occurs with the Sonos Beam hooked up. I unplugged the beam from the TV tonight and expect all will be working fine tomorrow. Is this a known issue with the Sonos Beam and 900f when running current firmware / OS? Thanks. Paul

I have a Beam, and 2 ones surround. After last update, TV sound cuts out around every couple minutes. Music is fine. Doesn't matter if I am watching live TV or recorded TV. This is very annoying. My beam and 2 ones completely cut out and not present on the controller a couple of weeks ago. Unplugged the Beam and re-connected, it came back. Have a Samsung UN55JS700DF, HDMI arc from TV to Beam.

Can I still use Beam with a TV that have neither an HDMI ARC connector, nor an optical output?

Hello, I have a LG Oled C8 and I want to pair the remote with my playbase so I can control the volume with the magic remote. I have read articles like [url=http://support.sonos.com/s/article/3479?language=en_US]this one[/url], but I'm already stuck in the first part, because when I set up a sound bar with optical output, I never get the option to choose my manufacturer. The remote for the 2018 model is slightly different than the one is the article btw. Hi all, I'm very new to Sonos (have owned a Sonos One for about 3-weeks and I love it!) I have tried searching to no avail. Everything comes back saying that Alexa Routines are unavailable on the Sonos One, which I understand, but, with Prime Day coming soon, I was looking into an Echo Dot and didn't know if you can use the Sonos One as a speaker for the Echo Dot routine? Can I do the following: 1. On the Echo Dot, say "good morning". The Echo Dot will respond with some pre-determined phrase like "good morning". 2. The Echo Dot will then give me a weather update. 3. Then the Alexa Routine will play TuneIn Radio on the Sonos One. Many thanks in advance.
