Hi there. When I set up my Sonos Beam through Sky Q using the Optical connection, I am unable to use either my TV remote or Sky Q remote to change the volume. When it's through HDMI it is fine, however my TV will not push through Dolby Digital and I have to put my Sky Q on Normal audio. Any help much appreciated!

I just got a beam and find it very annoying that anytime someone wants to watch the tv, I have to get my phone to turn on the sound. I’ve read that I can also do this with the Voice command, but understand that Alexa learns your voice and therefore if someone else besides me wants to turn on the tv (my four year old, a friend, etc) it needs my voice to work? Also not everyone who used my tv speaks English, we switch back and forth and would prefer not to only have voice commands. Are these the only two ways to turn on sound? It can’t be done on my tv or just stay on?

Reluctantly, I disabled the Alexa skill for Sonos today. The whole house ducking was causing too many complaints form everyone in the house. Ducking a Sonos speaker in a room so far away from the person using Alexa just doesn't make sense. I really would like to use voice commands with Sonos; but I guess I will have to wait even longer for Sonos to correct this problem. I have three Echo dots connected to Sonos either through line-in jacks or Connects. This was originally done to work around the Audible issue. The bonus of doing this was that all output from the Dots sounded great going through the Sonos speakers. Even, simple things like: "Alexa, what is the weather?" sound very good. Well, they don't with ducking, because you can't hear them at all now. Perhaps the long-term fix is to assign Alexa devices to specific Sonos products. A short-term fix would be to add the option of turning ducking off. I would be willing to accept that Alexa might not be able to hear me with this

Hi Sonos Lovers, We have recently moved into a new house. It has 2 inbuilt speakers in two rooms that the previous owners used two separate Sonos Amps to connect. Am I right to assume that the new amp that is coming out soon will allow me to connect all 4 speakers in 2 rooms to the one amp? Many thanks, Alex

Is it possible for Sonos to use Testflight to allow testing of beta controller software by IOS users? There is a limit of 2000 testers, but I'm sure this could be managed. I'd like to contribute to beta testing for IOS devices and I'm sure others would too. Cheers, Peter.

I found something exploring through the Alexa app that looks odd. I show 2 instances of the same device name but with different serial numbers in the Alexa app as shown in the pic. I just bought a Sonos one today, I already have a Sonos play1 and an amazon Alexa. After I had setup my new Sonos in the Sonos app, and after going though the voice setup, when I ask it to play a song it 1. takes about 25 seconds for it to know what I said and 2. either says there was a problem or just ignores it and does nothing. I don't know how to fix it and I really wouldn't like to return it if I didn't have to.

I am looking to downsize the amount of speakers in my living room. I currently have a first generation Bose Solo under my TV, and I also have two second gen PLAY 5's. I want to replace the Bose Solo with a Beam and hide a SUB behind the couch to cut down on clutter. My question is, does anyone think a Beam with a SUB sounds as good as a stereo pair of 2nd Gen Play 5's? If not, how about a Beam + SUB compared to a single 2nd Gen Play 5?

Will the Homepod show up in the Sonos App itself as a speaker to select? It didn't for me and I'm wondering if this is due to an error on my end?

I have downloaded the app on another laptop which was fine but it cant find the speakers, however I have connected my mobile successfully at the same time. as the new laptop is using the wi-fi already I don't understand why it cant find the speakers?

My turntable has a built-in pre-amp which can be turned off if the receiver has an input for the turntable. My belief (which may be incorrect) is that routing the turntable through the phono input on the receiver will generally result in better sound than using the pre-amp in the turntable. In that regard, what is the meaning of this sentence on the Sonos website (https://en.community.sonos.com/music-services-and-sources-228994/using-a-turntable-with-sonos-6769426)?: "Your audio receiver may have a phono input, which means you can wire the turntable directly to the receiver. To pass the analog signal along to Sonos the receiver should have a Tape/CD Out, Rec Out, or Zone 2 Out. (Note: additional configuration may be required to trigger the audio output on the receiver)"? Does this sentence mean that I can use the phono input on the receiver and get the sound to my Play:5 by running a cable to the Play:5 from the receiver's Tape/CD Out, etc.? Do you have any plans to bring the Sonos controller app for the Windows desktop to the Microsoft Store? I prefer to install software on Windows only from the store, where I'm somewhat guaranteed a better experience than a stand-alone installer - e.g. the app will be nicely sandboxed to not slow down my system, I'll get automatic updates whenever you release any, I'll get notifications/live tiles if you'd like to offer those, etc. Now that Spotify is in the store, it would be great to have Sonos there too. Please note: I'm referring to your existing desktop app - not a mobile app for Windows phone or anything like that. Many thanks!

Would love to hook up a record / vinyl player to my Sonos system which is a mixture of play 1’S, a play 3 and a couple of Sonos ones (for Alexa). I’m torn as whether or not to buy a Connect, a Connect Amp or a Play 5??? I understand I need to buy a good quality record player with a preamp, that’s fine but which of the 3 Sonos products so as to have the viny playing throughout the house on the Sonos system? Will any of the 3 Sonos products do that for me? Help appreciated - thanks

I'm not able to get TV sound from the Beam with the Vizio P50-C1. I'm connected to the Sonos via HDMI-1, which is the ARC connection. I've also tried with Optical and still no sound.

HI i have purchased a playbar which works fine with my samsung tv apart from a warning message apearing on my tv when volume is pressed saying NOT AVAILABLE i have called samsung and they recommened speaking to sonos any idea? the model is LE46C580J1KXXU

I’m thinking about upgrading my TV to the Sony Bravia AF9 but wondered if anyone knows how this would work with my Playbar? The TV itself has 3.2 surround with three actuators behind the screen and two subwoofers out the side. I’m worried that it’s going to render my Playbar obsolete. I want to know if I can use the TV speakers AND the Playbar (either through WiFi or optical). Can anyone help?

Hi, I have six dots and seven sonos devices (play 1&5). Ive set everything up: Skill added and logged in with same account as sonos No duplicate naming Same Spotify account and made it pref source I can control the sonos deevices with alexa: play pause etc I can play tunein radio with alexa But when I want to play Spotify alexa says playing... On sonos xxx. And then nothing. Tried reinstalling, renaming, about everything. But alexa won't play Spotify on any of my sonos. It plays on the dots, but not on sonos. Any tips how to get this to work? Thanks!

Hi all, My wife and I are moving in a new place, doing some remodelling. We love our playbase and are looking to have a 5.1 set up. But we had some concerns you guys might alleviate! The thing is the TV room isn't super straightforward. The sofa is placed against a wall, while TV and Playbase are in a corner (about 3m away). I have attached the layout for reference. Perhaps some of you have living rooms where the TV is on the side of the sofa or in a corner. Our 2 questions were: 1) If the TV is wall mounted (swivel having it face the sofa when used) but the playbase is still on a cabinet (in the layout, constantly facing the window), and therefore not in the same direction than the TV, do you think there's a chance it doesn't sound as good - because the base isn't turned towards the viewer? 2) We would put the 1's surround on the wall right behind the sofa. But since the TV is in a corner, won't that unbalance the whole setup? What do you think? Thanks!!

I've got a 2 Sonos Ones in a bedroom and a Sonos Play 1 in the adjacent Ensuite. I want the Bedroom and Ensuite speakers perminat locked into a group, but still separate rooms... And this is why: Using IFTTT, when I switch the bathroom light on, it unmutes the ensuite speaker. So, IF there is music playing the bedroom, it will follow me into the ensuite when I switch the light on. Then re-mutes the ensuite speaker when I switch the light off again. I've got this set up perfectly, very fancy pants (when it works). Now, I've got many other Sonos speakers. If I decide to group the music already playing in the Kitchen, with the Bedroom (/ensuite), it will first create a new group between the kitchen and the bedroom, so, I have to tuen add a few more steps to get the ensuite back into the group. This is also the case whilst ungrouoing. Bit of a pain. Not gonna loose sleep over it, however, locking groups together, for my situation, would be very cool. Please ADD THE ABILITY T

Hey there, Looking for a bit of info regarding the new Sonos ONE with Alexa. I currently have my Sonos PLAY 1's mounted on brackets in the corners of my living room for surround sound. Hi I have been given 3 x zp120's 1 x zp90,1 x br100 and a WD my cloud (no speakers though as they were in the ceiling when my friend sold his house, he's moved in with a music system set up already) Appolagies in advance for my ignorance but can I incorporate these into a surround sound or if that's not possible what's the best way to use these to their full potential? My friend had them installed by a company so isn't much help!!!
