New user here (sorry!). I create a group of Living Room, Patio, and Bedroom. They will all play the same source. However, the volume is likely to get turned up/down in the Living Room, but I want the Patio and Bedroom to remain at the previous setting. So far, it seems that the grouped rooms are slaved to the primary room both for source and volume. I understand after I change one room's volume, I can THEN go change the slave rooms, but I simply want all rooms to be independent volume control. Can anyone help? thanks!

My home is frequently used as the home to have parties, mainly because everyone says they love my sound system, which consists of several Sonos connects, early Zone players and many Play ones and some play 5's. I would love to not always be relied upon to host parties, and was wondering if my play ones and play 5's could be brought to other people's homes? How difficult would that be to do something like that? Along that line, has there been any thoughts to allowing the sonos speakers to work in the car, using my iPhone's personal hotspot?

I have just come back to New Zealand from the UK and brought back a Sonos one with Alexa which is working fine, The only problem is they are not released here in New Zealand yet. Is there a release date set for the Sonos one in New Zealand as I would like to purchase at least one more and will there be a cheaper price if 2 are purchased, as on the Australian website they are offering 2 Sonos ones at JB hi-fi for AU$499 . I have 500GB of music and use iTunes to manage the files. Free iTunes. My $2000 worthy of Sonos gear can’t recognize my larger playlist. There doesn’t seem to be a definitive answer as to how many songs Sonos can recognize in a playlist. It would be helpful if it didn’t have a limit but if it does, tell us clearly what that is so we can manage it.

The only reason I still keep Alexa in my house is for telling my Sonos speaker to stop playing when my phone rings. Is there really still no release date, the longer it takes the better the Google Home Max looks to me.

I'm currently using an Alexa dot in my kitchen with my sonos and i have just bought a sonos one for another room. They are both using alexa ok BUT if i ask the Kitchen alexa to play something from spotify in the other room it will stop the spotify track playing in the kitchen. And vice versa. It doesn't do it if im, say, playing something from tune-in the kitchen and ask it to play something from spotify in the other room - the radio keeps playing ok in the kitchen. Not sure why its stopping the music? Spotify is working fine on all my speakers if i do it through the sonos app so no conflict between speakers. Any ideas?

Hi thanks in advance for any advice given here. Had a Play 5 for about a year and absolutely love the quality of sound it produces, hearing songs I've listened to all my life in a whole new dynamic. I love in a fairly small house, living room is about 30 feet by 25 feet. Do you think I would be able to appreciate the stereo effect of a pair of Play 5's or would it be overkill in such a small room? Thanks again for your opinions Regards Wayne

Hi. K have my connect amps in a cupboard running cables to 2 wired speakers in the bathrooms. I'd like to use voice activation to control my music . My question is can I hook up the Amazon echo/dot in the cupboard and somehow use the speakers in the bathrooms to "talk" to the dot and change music or must the Amazon device be the speaker that hears my commands? I don't want to have Amazon devices in the bathrooms..... Any suggestions welcome!

i have 2 play 5 units and some play 1 units. I used to be able to play different music in different rooms at the same time but can no longer do that. If I put music on in one room and someone else wants to play something else in another room it switches all the units to the same music. does anyone else have that problem and how can I fix it???

Hi I have been using the following combination sucessfully until Kodi upgraded to Krypton. I run Kodi on a NAS (Asustor) that outputs the audio via HDMI to a Samsung TV U55. This TV has a box connected to it with 4 HDMI ports and 1 optical out. The optical out is connected to my Sonos Playbar. I have tried all kinds of settings on the internet. Without success. Current settings in Kodi: Audio: 2.0 Allow Passthrough AC3 capable receiver AC3 decoding the audio device is HDA in Samsung Anyone have this issue? Any suggestions what I could try?

One of my Play5 units stop working after a lightning strike on the house. Is there any kind of internal circuit breaker that could be fixed or is this thing likely just toast?

Hi, I was watching tv when all of a sudden the power went in the sockets. My fuse box had tripped. After resetting the fuse the Sonos PLAYBAR will no longer power on. I have swapped fuses and tested the sockets which are all working well. What can I do now?

HI. I've got a number of sonos speakers and connects, and want to repurpose one connect to hook up to older outdoor (unpowered) speakers. I saw an older post/question from a few years back, but want to know if anyone has any recommendations for reasonably priced amps. Also, I prefer to have an optical cable input but I'm open to being convinced that the rca will also be fine for this application.

I am looking for feedback on setting up 2 stereo pair of Polk Audio Atrium 6, to the Sonos Connect Amp. 1. I would like to [b]make sure the amp is ok to drive these 2 specific 8ohm outside speakers[/b], NOT at ear busting levels, as I have neighbors. 2. I'd like to be able to [b]adjust the individual speaker balance by using a speaker switch with individual volume control, with impedance matching, and then use the Sonos app to adjust ALL 4 speakers. Does the microphone in the Play 5 collect voice data? Is it capable of this? If so, can it be disabled?

Hi Community, First time posting and thank you in advance for any help. Just ran 14 gauge direct burial wire to a pair of Bose Free Space speakers and the connect amp. NO SOUND. I could really use help in trying to figure out steps to trouble shoot this without pulling components significantly apart. Also, is there a max run I can do with the 14 gauge wire? Could my connect amp be a dud? Again, thanks for any advice.

Have a 1st generation play 5 we have been using as our "outdoor" speaker. We have built outside bar and want to know if its possible to use the play 5 and connect a 3rd party speaker to the Play 5? If possible, what do i need for equipment? I have tge sonos sourround sound as a boost as well. Thank in advance

Power surge/power outtage here at my house. Sonos white light on box unlit, so not working. Have re-booted everything, disconnected etc and still no luck. I fear box is now useless. Silly me for not having Sonos plugged into surge protector bar. I do wonder why Sonos uses a non-grounded type prong for their box instead of the large/small prong?

Is it possible to play audio from movies and online TV/movie streaming (e.g. from my PC or laptop) through Sonos Play 1 speakers. It seems like Sonos Play 1 are only really good for music files. Any solution to this, ideally a free one?

Hey folks, just wondering if the power cable with the play 1 white is black or white?

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on ceiling mount installations of Play:1 or Play:3 speakers that do not involve the Flexson products? The Flexson ceiling mount would be perfect but they are ludicrously expensive and I have not found many alternative products available. I have a screened in porch that I want to place a speaker on that is entirely sheltered for about 4 months of the year with a vaulted wood ceiling and available power supply but can't find many more cost effective options for ceiling mount.

Is anyone else having an issue with iPhone X dropping Sonos? My phone will randomly not be able to find Sonos, while my older iPad has no issues(?) Thank you!
