I like the look of the new Arc. Sonos seems to be catching up but they always seem to be a step behind. There doesn't seem to be a HDMI in for a Dolby Atmos device, like the Apple TV. I take it that means a lot of people will need to also buy a new TV, adding to the cost. Am I correct in thinking that my not that old Sony TV will not pass through Dolby Atmos over HDMI from my Apple TV as the TV is not Dolby Atmos even though the Apple TV is? I'm thinking a newer TV is also required with a newer HDMI port?

 I recently purchased 2 very nicely used gen 1 Play 5’s for my basement for $300 (US) for the pair. Did I make a mistake? My budget is limited. Should I sell the gen 1’s and buy 1 gen 3 Play 5 for $500? Do you recommend any other options? Thanks for your time, Rayskies  

I just recently purchased a SHIELD TV Pro. I've had my ARC since launch and everything has worked fine on all other sources (ATV 4K, Internal TV apps). I have my ARC connected via eARC to my LG GX. I'm not getting any system sounds, but I am getting sounds from Kodi. Other apps such as YouTube do not have any sound at all. I haven't messed with the audio settings on my SHIELD, but I don't see anything that would be symptomatic of causing only Kodi to initiate sound and not the other apps.  My only thought is that the LG GX recently updated to support LPCM through eARC and I know there are compatibility issues between the ARC and the eARC capable LG OLEDs. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi just replaced my living room playbase with the arc. I haven't had any problems previously but now anytime I'm watching TV the audio starts dropping out with a short static sound. Seems to be coming from the arc and rears. This happens while watching Netflix, prime, Vudu, and Plex. But does not happen if streaming tidal or yt music.    I have a Samsung q75 2018  Arc / gen 2 sub / 2 ones.  I use 2019 Nvidia shield to watch everything.  Shield to HDMI 1 on TV. Arc to hdmi4 arc port on TV.    I've looked at the network matrix and it's all green. But I don't know much else about that.    I have unifi network, I only have 1 Sonos hardwired.    Please help! Diag 778910189   I've rebooted my network and all Sonos a few times. Re-tuned a few times. Swapped cables. Made sure all firmware is up to date. 

Hello there. I’ve got a Sonos One updated to S2. I was thinking about getting a Tidal sub for the sound quality. I know there was talk of S2 including the new ability for Sonos speakers to play high fidelity streams.    Has that now happened? If I play a Tidal HiFi account through my Sonos One will I get the HiFi quality stream? Is that now live ?   Thanks for any help.

I have an Arc+Two Sonos SLs. My router is an ASUS RT-AC88U. I continue to receive errors connecting the devices in a surround sound setup.All firmware is up to date on router and Sonos devices. App is up to date. My connection quality is strong on all devices (40dbm) and I have played around with different frequencies and channels to reduce interference. Internet speeds are fine. I live in an apartment and aside from the 15 devices I have connected I have 10 available WiFi networks in range. So despite my efforts on picking an channel that is not congested, it still probably is. I ordered a boost but don’t feel like I should need it. Any suggestions?      

Hi ordered a Sonos ARC but then I’ve found stock in another store so now I wanted to cancel my order here in the website. However I can’t find any option to cancel it. I contacted Sonos support who told me to use the order confirmation email to make modifications to the order, but I never received that email… so as off today, I have no way to cancel the order. Seems a little bit odd. Anyone is facing the same problem?    

I purchased a play 5 for part. Turns out it’s recycled but the speakers work just fine. I understand the need to brick the software component of the speaker but is there any reason this can’t be used as a plain old “dumb speaker?” Seems like a total waste to make the speaker completely non functional.

The only issue noted with my Arc installation relates eARC settings. The LG C9 display has eARC capabilities. If "passthrough” is set to “on” and eARC is also "on” then the audio signal from the xfinity cable box persists on the Arc even after turning off the LG display. Since I don't have a need for eARC in my system, I can turn it off without a problem, but it feels like a bug. The Arc replaced a Beam in my system, and the Beam didn't have this problem.

I have a sonos Arc plus Sub, but i wish to know how is the experience with the surrounds, but im afraid i will left the feeling of the sound coming from left and right from the Arc soundbar, im very happy with the soundstage Arc produces, but i have not clear how the sound will be redirected to ssurrounds, they left Arc without the ambient feeling?.   any experiences?   thank you!

I download the S2 app, I did he installation and the I execute the app. I enter in the app, but I can not to do anything. The next picture shows the screen with the “use condition” but I cant to go the next step into the sonos setup. What is wrong???    

Hi there, I’m using my One to control Google Assistant and just got smart bulbs in the room, all *working* but the experience is far from great. The One will helpfully tell me that it’s turned on or off the lights... about 1 second after the lights have turned on/off. Google have resolved this issue when using Assistant through my phone, but the whole idea of the One was not needing my phone on me the whole time. (https://support.google.com/assistant/thread/890788?hl=en) Is there a setting or something I’ve missed to control this? The other part is please let us set the voice assistant response volume! I’m hoping we maybe see these changes in the S2 update already!?  

What is the need for a sonos bridge

Hello.   I have the Sonos AMP and i just ordered the sonos arr and the subwoofer.   Quick question. Can I have all these systems together? turn on my tv on a HDMI Input (Applte TV) and be able to listen the in ceiling speakers with subwoofer and the arc soundbar? IF YES,   Do i need to run the HDMI from the soundbar to the TV? or a HDMI from the AMP to the ARC tv port on the tv? I am new to sonos and i really get confused with this info.     THanks

Dear Sonos Community I want to set up a sonos sound system at home, but need a little help. I have a turntable with a phono preamp and a samsung tv 6 series (ue50ku6072). My aim is to have just one main sonos speaker (ideally the play 5 or the beam). I know that the play 5 is not suitable for TV.  Would this problem be solved if I bought a sonos port  and connect the tv and the turntable with this port? I would love to get an ARC and connect it to my TV via HDMI….BUT in addition, I would like to connect my CD player to the ARC. Can I do that using the OPTICAL connection on the ARC? If not, what is the simplest way to connect a CD player to the Sonos wireless speaker world. I don’t have any wired speakers, so the AMP is not really needed for me.

I have reviewed several discussions on this, but have not found an answer (at least the one I hope to find, lol).  The Sonos Port does see my Asset UPnP server and I can select individual tracks to play.  I can also add tracks individually to the queue, but am looking for a way to add the entire album to the queue at once.  Selecting each song and then “Add to End of Queue” is a bit tedious.     So is there a way to add the entire album at once?  This function is available on another streamer I have (Moon MIND) so It seems it would also be available on the Sonos.

I’ve had trouble with the Music Library in the past with S1 (since the latest Mac OS update).  I finally got it to work by turning off the firewall and giving privledge to the Sonos controller (Security & Privacy) for the disk access.      Now….I noticed there is only S1 Apps available to choose.   And there is something called SonosLibraryServer but no S2.  The S2 app installed OK and works on other services but not my own music library (iTunes). At any rate, I had to turn off the firewall again and although the S2 controller found all the music files and lists them, I get an error when it tries to play them (file not found).      I’m going to keep fiddling’ but if somebody knows the secret...please ring in.    

Updated speakers and iOS devices to S2, but no sign of an S2 app yet for Mac OS - clicking the download links on the web site still take you to the S1 version, and no way in the app on Mac OS to update

Hi there. Since adding new devices and upgrading to S2 over the weekend, I keep getting “connection to Spotify was lost”. Sometimes it works for a while and then just stops. Always at the point where it’s trying to start playing a song - I never get errors when browsing spotify and songs seem to finish playing once started. A couple of key points based on questions asked to other people with similar issues: Spotify is working on all other devices in the house Streaming from my NAS and my Amazon account seems to work fine I’m running a fully wireless Sonos setup but was previously using a wired Bridge with S1 The Orbi router is set so that all Sonos devices are “unmanaged” to avoid any network blocking It was being particularly on/off earlier to I uploaded a diagnostic: 233855799 Thanks, Mark  

As someone who uses a Connect to stream music to a much higher quality DAC and amplifier, I’m wondering whether there are any plans (or indeed any demand) for an S2 version of the Connect?

Hi there,  I've never posted here before so please bear with me.    How can I stop S1 to S2 update?   I don't want S2 based on the negative reviews and my understanding was I could stick with S1.   I have a play 1 and play 3 bought around 2013 and 2011 so I assume they are legacy. I am using Android 10 on a Sony Xperia xz2. When I start S1 it prompts me to update to S2. It's done this for a few days. I seemed to be able to stop this prompt by shutting down and restarting the app but this no longer works.    ​​​I am stuck on this prompt screen and can't get past it.  s1 was working just fine for my system.   So I would like to stay with S1 but the prompt shows compatibility issues.   Any help would be appreciated.   thanks        

Hi All Have a Sonos amp connected to ceiling speakers in kitchen and just purchased a pair of outdoor speakers which will be hooked up to the amp this weekend. As the volume control will affect all four speakers, is there any sort of separate control I can put in so can adjust independently.  Idea being that in the garden i may want the volume louder than in the kitchen and vice versa. I know can get wall mounted controls but not sure how good they are or what to look out for as do not want to compromise sound quality   Welcome any suggestions and specific items to look for   Thanks in advance    

I have a setup called “Cinema” which consists of an Arc, Sub and 2x Play 1s. My Logitech Harmony picks this up on the network as a device, and it’s able to control the volume on it when I go into this device. However when I create an Activity (and include “Cinema” as one of the devices, along with the projector and, say, my Apple TV) I’m unable to adjust the volume in this Activity. My Arc is connected via Optical due to lack of ARC on my projector, so that’s not an option for control. I mainly use the Harmony iPhone app to control. On this, the volume buttons are greyed out. On the Harmony Remote, you’re able to specify what you want the hard volume buttons to do, and on this I can successfully map them to Sonos “Cinema” and get the desired effect. Any tips on how to fix the iPhone App issue? It might be relevant to know that I’m on Mac OSX Catalina, and the Harmony software is incompatible with this (!). I have no other computers to install the desktop software on, so I’m stuck
