I have a TCL 65R635 TV and a Sonos Playbar soundbar. I can’t seem to pair my TCL tv remote with the soundbar. Tech support said an HDMI cable needs to connect the two together, in order to sync the remote. However, my soundbar doesn’t even have an HDMI port. I’m using a digital/optical cable. Can anyone help?

Seems like you were given bad information. The PLAYBAR requires an InfraRed (IR) signal to work. Does your TCL remote have the capability to emit IR, or is it Bluetooth/WiFi only?
