Problem Solved
Hello,I’ve had my Roam for about a year and it had been working well without issues. In the past couple of weeks it started to cut out whilst playing, and I had to press the back button to get it going again. As of this morning it appears to have completely reset itself, green light is flashing and the app saying I need to connect it to the Roam.I’m logged in on the app, but it cant find the device, saying Sonos not found, make sure I’m on the same WiFi etc which I am.Not really sure where to go from here. If it isn’t connected, then how does it know I’m not on the same WiFi? Doesn’t make much sense to me! I’ve gotten one step further, the app can see the Roam and prompts me to click to add the Roam to my system which I’ve done. It then says ‘Getting Roam ready’ but after about 30 seconds I still get the same message that it can’t find any Sonos products. Moderator edit - combined posts so topic is still “in need of reply”
Yesterday I discovered that somehow a tool on my workbench had partially cut through the wire attached to my Sonos Roam wireless charger base unit. The wire was connected but cut partially and appeared that the conductors were not reached, looks like it should work still but seems not to.So I have to ask, why does a purportedly high tech innovative company resort to trapping customers just to make a paltry few tens of bucks? The base unit could have had a detachable wire, perhaps a simple jack plug or other form of USB connector, but no: Reinventing home audioThe wire is fixed, cannot be removed and so cannot be replaced, leaving the only option as buying a new base unit and paying 50+ dollars. This is a commercial decision, plain and simple and if Sonos cared about the customer experience or their reputation as a designer, “reinventing home audio” as they like to claim, they’d have done this, made it easy to replace a simple piece of wire.So why not stop running with the herd? why not
Hello, i just got two sonos move and i can't seem to connect both together, I'll have to switch off the first one before the second one can work or put it in Bluetooth mode. I have tried resetting it multiple times but i still end of with the same issue, if i do not switch off or change the mode of the first one, the other won't connect and show on the sonos app.
My current setup has a BEAM gen 2 up and running easily on the wifi network for my TV. I bought Sonos Roam SL as a speaker to connect to my computer a bluetooth device. I have tried this numerous times:Factor reset (power + play) wait for green blinking Sonos app (iOS) go to system and add device. Device shows up, connects to my wifi (takes a few minutes) Shutdown (5 second press) and startup Shows in my Sonos app -- as unregistered. Click to register, asks for my account + passwordAt this point, it NEVER works. Says something went wrong please try later. Wow, that’s as useless an error message as you can get! My online profile shows my Roam SL registered, so it got to your website. I figured, ok don’t care if it doesn’t work over wifi, I need bluetooth anyway:The instructions say press-hold power button to get pairing tone and blue light… NEVER happens…I’ve seen conversations about getting the firmware updated.. how can I accomplish that? The sonos app doesn’t see it registered and
I’d love to say that MOVE is awesome and sounds great, but I can’t even get pass go to say this..it just will not connect...my app picks it up and sometimes goes to install and the app just drops out, or does connect, but can’t register...or wants to use some internal Move wifi, which is really strange. I was so excited to receive my MOVE, but now ready to accept I’ve been scammed and drop it in the bin. Surely after 2years of release, MOVE should just join the SONOS system I have seamlessly..but it doesn’t.Every other SONOS product I have bought, which are much older than this MOVE I got yesterday, did connect no probs….SONOS why is this so? I’ve never had many issues with SONOS, especially since moving to Fibre to the Premises broadband with 100+ mbps download and super stable network.Preferably I just want my $s back and I’ll go buy something that works, like every other product found on the market for bluetooth style speakers, and save myself stressing and seaching/reading forums t
I have two Move speakers that I pair and use in stereo; can I add a subwoofer and pair with them?
Cdt,Laurent Placide
Brand-new ERA 300 won’t run Trueplay and regular playback does a quick fadeout to zero volume (although appears to continue playing the track).wondering why I fronted the money for something really fancy with very few controls, quite cryptic, in order to manage the clientele adjusting complex web-based audio, which is all great, except the product doesn’t work. The chat bot was ridiculously unhelpful. No, I don’t want to buy more Sonos products at this time, but, thank you, as always.Any ideas, thoughts, or prayers? Thanks.
I have two sonos Roam, but only one is displayed at a time on app.Can we set up the two sonos Roam with Stereo set up?Please share how to do that?
It appears that Sonos support is backed up so I guess I’ll post my question here also… My existing system (two Ones (G2) & Sub) that are connected to the Boost do not have this problem. Apparently these two devices connect to my wifi and not the boost so I assume we will have to blame my wifi, yet the 66 currently connected devices which is a mixture smart TV's, streaming devices, security cameras, smart devices, etc... do not have random disconnect problems.I'm doing my share of searching, I see posts about Asus routers and disabling QoS or Airtime Fairness, some say nothing changes...So I guess I need to know what magic settings the Move and Roam SL require in order to work as expected.Honestly I expect these things to work with minimal screwing around because I paid for $ONO$... If the cheap $5 smart plug can stay connected to my wifi, why not almost 600 bucks worth of speakers?Router is Asus RT-AX92U AX6100
I have a Sonos Roam and an Eero wi-fi network. My Roam keeps losing the network every three or four days. I’ve been reading and it sounds like Sonos and mesh networks don’t play togehter. I’m not sure what my options are. The Boost doesn’t work with portable devices, and setting my Eero into bridge mode also doesn’t seem like an option. I can no longer return my Sonos Roam. Do I have any other options?
I have a Roam SL and Virgin Router Hub 3.0. I’m also using for TV m a play bar and 2 Sonos 1s for surround sound. The play bar and 1s are fine. The Roam is a recent addition and KEEPS on losing connectivity. I had a massive setup issue and called support and works fine now when connected but it’s useless if it keeps disconnecting. I have to press 10 secs/wait/switch back on etc EVERY time. And when it’s disconnected the Bluetooth doesn’t connect either. It’s hugely disrupting for family as they have no idea how to reconnect when I’m away and so have no speaker at all - even a Bluetooth one. Please help or I’ll have to bin it and get a different make.
I am currently working in Pakistan - using my two ROAM speakers to provide my entertainment. They had been working for the first year and a half without issue. Then, last year I noticed that one ROAM would not charge above 94%. A rather long series of chat session with Sonos tech team can to the concluding that the battery was not apparently taking the charge. But, the second ROAM was having no issue. As of today, the first ROAM will not power on at all and the second ROAM is limiting its charge to 93%. I fear that I am about to retreat to silence… I have been using the magnetic wireless charger bases that are sold by Sonos. Thinking this may have been the issue, I changed to using the USB-C cord direct from a charging brick that is plugged in a wall socket.I was wondering if others have encountered this issue? I read through number of threads that seemed similar and have not seen any solution. I cannot even “reset” the device by holding the power button for the 12-seconds recommended
I’ve just got a Sonos Roam SL - how do I use Alexa with it? Unlike on the Sonos One speaker I can’t see a little microphone? Thanks
I have a lovely Roam which “roams about” in the house. At one point it was a sleep/wake speaker in my daughters room. Now it’s a Roam Bluetooth speaker for the TV, when sound needs to be mobil. The Issue is that the wake alarm i’ve set for my daughter keeps playing the same time every morning. This is regardless of it being in Bluetooth mode.It started when the speaker was moved and therefore renamed. I’ve tried to create a new alarm at the same time, which haven’t helped.I’ve tried to rename the Roam, remove it from my Sonos System - and re-add.Only thing i have left to do, is to dele the Apple playlist it was set to play, back then. Have any one else experienced this? Please help.
I have a Roam SL and 2 Play:1 speakers. All are correctly registered in the S2 app. I can freely group all speakers together in WiFi. The issue arrises when I stream music to the Roam over Bluetooth and then try to group with one of the other Play:1's. On the first attempt it works fine but then if I ingroup and then group again no sound comes from the Play:1, still plays on the Roam. The app shows the Play:1 as grouped and playing. If I power cycle the Play:1 and then regroup, it works again but the same happens if I ingroup. Correction: I now get the same issue when connected over WiFi, was probably like that all along. So looks like the Roam groups the first time okay, after that not, either if on Bluetooth or not. Othe speakers group okay.Extra: just found that the same thing happens after pausing playback, the Play:1 does not resume sound but the Roam does, still grouped on the app.
Seen this on ebay. Is this right? was looking to buy one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295571843645
Hi everyone - I just received an early Christmas gift of an Audio Technica bluetooth turntable AT-LP60XBT. There are many resources, including Audio Technica’s own website, which says that it can connect with the Sonos Move via Bluetooth (but no other Sonos device, wirelessly). You press a button on the turntable so that it enters pairing mode, and I’ve done enough reading to realize that I need to press the pairing button (the long thin button) on the back of the Move to get it ready to connect. However, when I put both devices in pairing mode - I press the button on top of the turntable, which continuously flashes blue & red (instead of blue, which is desired) - they never seem to pair. There is no completion; ultimately the light on the turntable just goes red, which means it is not paired.Has anyone dealt with this? Has anyone solved the problem? Many thanks in advance. Even if I get it to work, I’m pretty tech-savvy and it feels like… well, it shouldn’t be this difficult.
To Sonos .. I have to say that your product is the biggest pain in the a$$ to get going .. With todays tech .. Can’t we just get it so I turn it on and connect to Bluetooth like other speaker products .. a bit frustrated !! Great sound .. crappy integration
My Sonos Move will not connect. I have performed all the instructions for connecting and resetting. When power is first turned on, a white blinks.
Hello All,I run a couple of Sonos Fives, a couple of Ones, a Sub Gen 3 and I run a turntable into one of the Fives. I had initially had WiFi issues so I bought a boost to run ethernet and then the mesh of the speakers. Been working perfectly. So, I thought I would buy a roam so I could throw a vinyl record on, then carry it to the laundry, garden etc and keep listening. I was sooo disappointed to realise initially that Roam and Move can’t connect to my Sonnet which seems ridiculous. Sonos have their own mesh system then release a speaker that can't connect to it so, I connected it to the Wifi. Now - if I play a record the entire system works beautifully except, the roam can’t keep a stream going for more than a few seconds so basically, unusable in that manner.Any thoughts at all? Thanks guys, Robin
Does the Move usb-c input support line-in?
Hi,When I am on the road, I want listen to Apple Music's lossless tracks on my Roam.Bluetooth does not support lossless music so I plan to use Airplay. The problem is that Airplay needs a wifi network which is a hassle to set up when I am on the road.Is there a way to use the iPhone tethering function? Thank you.
Hi AllJust wanted to post that I have found a new feature in the App which could well have been there for a while now.I am gifting a Roam SL to my daughter in a couple of weeks time, which as on my system. I re-set it today and boxed it up ready to take to her. Of course then it showed in the App as powered off. I was then able to go into the settings for the speaker, and actually hide the device from my system in the App which is a new(ish) feature I believe. This is a nice touch as now it shows as gone from my set up.I know this is a fairly new change as a year or so back, I had to return a Roam which had a fault and had to wait 72 hours before it would disappear from my system in the App (back then, this was normal behaviour).
