Get help with your Sonos Roam, and Sonos Move

I have $$$ of Sonos that I have purchased over the last two years. I frequently have minor problems. But, I have a problem often, as in weekly, with the Roam. At present, its fully charged and I can’t get it to work properly. It seem stuck in “Sleep Mode” or it says that it need upgrade but when I attempt to upgrade, I receive a error message after several minutes. This has happened several times before. I like the portability when it works but after a year I’m about to give up on the Roam or only use it for bluetooth.
My Sonos Move will not connect to the wifi all of a sudden and the microphone light is on. I tried the reset instructions in the app with no luck.
Making a new thread because none of the existing threads on this topic fix my issue.Got a new Sonos Roam yesterday. Tried to set it up, absolute nightmare (incidentally, all my Sonos set up experiences have been a bit disappointing, which is a shame because once set up, the products are great). Anyway. I can get to the stage where Roam tries to join my wifi network. After a while, it says:The connection to your Sonos Roam was lost. Move your mobile device closer and make sure Sonos Roam is powered on. My phone is right next to the Sonos Roam. There are no issues with the wifi dropping out. When I click continue, it prompts me to receive an audio PIN again (fine) and then when it starts flashing white and green tells me:Make sure the light on your Sonos Roam is flashing white and green, then press the button on it to continue.Light is fine, I press the button, but nothing happens. Eventually, then says:We didn’t detect a button press from your Sonos Roam. Let’s try again. Doesn’t matter
Hi,I think this might have happened since the latest update but now, when I use one of my battery portable devices off it's charger, the App seems to continuously show it's at 100%. Noticed it with one of my Roams, that I use a lot for listening to podcasts via Bluetooth from my phone. Will test another Roam just to make sure it's not specific to that device.Has anyone else noticed this? So, my other Roam has just now dropped down to show 99% so seems like an issue with the other one. I will try the other one again later to see if it continues to not communicate it's battery status to the App. Moderator edit: combined posts
My sonos move will pair with my PC and phone but no audio will play through the speaker. The sound level will move up and down in accordance with my source material but no sound. I believe it is an issue with the Move because it always happens when paired with my phone. I have already tried a factory reset and have the most recent update.
So i noticed a really annoying feature between the wireless charger and the wired. When i turn off the Roam on wired, it stays power off, until i turn it on manually by touching, which is perfect, since it will not stand there and be standby for no reason when i dont want to use. Or until i unplug/plug in the device again.I bought the wireless charger since i thought it would be more stylish. What i noticed is that even if i manually turn off the roam on the back while in the charger, after some time if will flick back on by itself. Why does this happen on the wireless charger and not the wired? It is super annoying since i bought the wireless charger because it should be better for the battery, but if it just keeps powering it on by itself, then it doesn’t matter :/Any way to fix this, or is this just a stupid mechanism not possible to avoid with magnetic charger?
My sonos roam appears in the app but says it is offline. I have tried everything to charge it and the orange light comes on when I connect it to usb-c. However even if I hold the reset for 15 seconds, 25 seconds, 5 seconds, the white light will not come on. Please help.
why can’t I listen to two speakers move in bluetooth mode at the same time?iphone usage as audio broadcasting system
I have two networks that I ‘move’ between. One is a Netgear Orbi network, the other is just a home gateway provided by my ISP. Everything works fine at home, but I can’t seem to connect to my Orbi network with the Move. It fails when I attempt to connect to that network using the Sonos app. I called Sonos support, and while I appreciate that the Sonos system is a “very complicated system”, I’m having trouble understanding how my computer, phone, tablet, etc don’t seem to have any problems managing literally 100s of other networks, while the Move requires a factory reset if you want to ‘move’ it to another WiFI network. Oh, it’ll do Bluetooth fine, but if you want to stream directly from your network, so the music will keep playing when you walk too far from the speaker, you’ll have to do that within the confines of your home network. Otherwise, get used to factory resets, and other BS if you want to ‘move’ the Move around.Come on Sonos, this is a ridiculous limitation. When can we exp
Even though the switch is ON in the app, the speaker can not be control by toutching the button, only via the app. ??
My sonos move wont recharge after battery depletion
Roam is permanently plugged in so always shows 100% batt. As soon as I unplug it and try to use it in another room it dies within 5 mins . . . Useless piece of kit . .
Finally after days & hours of trying to find a workaround regarding not being able to access my music library on my phone & tablet. Thanks to someone mentioning the App called HiFi Cast. Sorry did not get his name. But thanks heaps. Best answer!Downloaded the app. Opened the app & it showed my music library on my device.I then found some options by pressing the row of lines on the top left corner that showed one of them being my Sonos Play 5 which I pressed. Then I pressed the album I wanted to play & guess what. It works!I found this the most easiest & least time consuming than the other options of uploading music to clouds, Youtube music, Spotify etc. Trying to workout what a NAS drive is etc, etc I even figured out I could also plug in a bluetooth receiver into the 3.5 jack at the back of the speaker. But mine was a very cheap one which played the music but voice/singing was far too quiet. So I ordered a HiFi bluetooth receiver......... But looks like I may not n
I have 2 Sonos Roams with charging docs. I used them a lot over the last 2 years but they have been in the cupboard for about 6 months as I went for a smaller setup and didn’t use them that much anymore.I since got them out and now can’t get them to charge or turn on. The red LED does not come on when I plug them in. They are both completely dead. What are my options here?
My sonos roam just stopped in the middle of a song. It was on the charging base. Thought it was the base that was not working properly so I ordered a usb cable. I let the sonos charge long enough but was not able to turn it on after many attempts using the technician’s recommendations. I was offered a rebate on a new Sonos as long as I return the system no charge. However, since I am very disappointed in my purchase, I am not eager to buy another Sonos! This company was recommended to me by a friend, but I do not think they live up to expectations, mine anyway.
Has anyone experienced the plastic around the pin melting on the Sonos Move charger. I am now unable to charge the speaker.
SONOS should make a sub in the form factor of a move so you can move it around and pair with other speakers when you want a room to have some more bass Would be good to also be able to pair with two other moves for playing music outside etc
Both move’s connected to iPhone bluetooth, but only one plays. How do I stereo pair the two moves?
I used my Sonos on my trip to Italy. I Charge it with my HP latop charger. However now it doesnt turn on anymore. When plugged in - first the White light flashes twice and then the for Red lights of the battery Status turn on.Any Suggestion or hint?
Hi,I bought the Sonos Roam SL recently, and use it with bluetooth. But every 2/3 songs, like 6/7 minutes, the music suddenly stop playing for like a second, then restarts. And it repeats every time, it’s not a random non reproductible issue.I’ve already resetted it, my app and my software is up to date. Can you help me ? Thanks a lot
Hello - My Sonos Roam beeps (sounds like a voice assistant turning on), every day at 730 AM. when i go to the Sonos 2 app, and look at alarms in the main settings, nothing is set there. how do i get the unit to stop this with out unplugging
i have a sonos roam and i got a new network so i needed to connect it to the new one..button it keeps saying theres no speaker around and to turn my sonos on and it literally is on. bluetooth works but i want it to just work normally like
You read things on the internet and don’t know whether they are true. I read in a review that you need the Sonos app to manage even the basic Bluetooth functions. So, question 1: Can I connect to Sonos Roam SL from a BT enabled device that cannot load the Sonos app? (I have a couple of portable music players which use a proprietary operating system and cannot load apps.) Does the Sonos Roam SL remember equaliser settings across devices? (That is, if I adjust the equaliser using a Sonos app on my Android phone or Windows computer, will those settings still be present when I connect to one of the players referred to in 1.)Thank you.Clive
I have a Sonos Roam, purchased in the US, which worked fine there.Currently living in Rome (no puns intended here) and have not been able to get the product to connect to any home WiFi network. Have gone through all the troubleshooting. Not sure if there is some fundamental difference in network settings between US and Italy (would be strange?)Am considering having my Sonos Beam shipped to Italy as part of a move, but don’t want to bother if these products just can’t be configured for Italian wifi networks. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
one of my sonos roams dropped on the floor last night about 3 feet.since then it seems to play so far but will not power off via the power buttom.i guess if plays no problem, right??
