I am looking on purchasing a Sonos Arc, sub and 300’s for my surround sound solution soon.  I am going from your typical AV receiver to all the speakers via wires.  All my inputs go into my Onkyo AV receiver via HDMI and then one HDMI cable to the TV.I was wondering if I can just remove the speakers from the AV receiver and keep my inputs in place and essentially use my AV receiver as my HDMI hub.  This is mostly because my TV does not have enough HDMI inputs.  I would then use a HDMI Arc connection from my TV to the Sonos Arc soundbar and then of course connect the sub and 300’s via wireless.  Would this work?Devices:LG 60” TVOnkyo receiver (can’t remember the model atm)HD FireStick (primary source for TV - YouTube TV, Netflix, Disney+, etc)Playstation 4Playstation 5Xbox XThanks in advance for your thoughts and inputRob

Hi,I currently have the following products:Beam 2Sonos Era 300 x2 I can’t figure out the solution to this problem and surprised it isn’t just working. I added my Era 300s individually and grouped them. This works and sound plays when I group the same audio to groups within the same room. However when I use Sonos’s surround feature to add the same Era 300s to the same group as my Beam, it successfully adds them. I can control sound using the app or buttons on the Era 300, however NO sound comes out of the Era 300, only sound comes from the Beam. Any solutions to this? Also when I try to use TrueTone, it fails because the Era 300s won’t omit any sound, this only occurs in this Surround Mode Setup.  I’m playing spotify through the Sonos app and see the correct room selected, but I can never get the Era 300s to play when its added as surround with the Beam in the same Room Group. 

Hi there,I am trying to play spatial audio tracks (or Dolby Atmos) through the Sonos app with Apple Music (I am on a trial).My setupBeam Gen 2 connected via ethernet cable to my router. It is also connected to my TV with an HDMI ARC cable but the TV is currently off. 2 x Era 300 connected via 2.4G wirelessly to the same router the Beam is connected to.I can get music to play for 10 or so seconds (I am testing with Abbey Road), the track plays fine and then cuts out and reverts to a non Atmos version (the Atmos logo disappears).I wonder if it is a problem with Apple as I can play Atmos content through the TV on the Netflix app.Any ideas please?Many thanks,Jason 

Is it possible to use a standard wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver set-up on a XGIMI Horizon Pro projector and Sonos Arc soundbar? Currently, I just use an HDMI cable to connect the two (Horizon Pro has an HDMI ARC port for output) and recently learned about the existence of wireless hdmi devices like the below: https://www.amazon.com/jonuzod-Wireless-Transmitter-Streaming-Projector/dp/B0C43YL4DS/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=wireless+hdmi&qid=1692748544&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1 From the descriptions, this allows for the transmission of video + audio which sounds like it’s the same functionality as my HDMI cable. However, looking at other sources, it seems like this may not be the case (not sure I understand why, but some ARC is mentioned) I am fine with some degradation in quality but want to know if this is technically feasible.

how should my speakers:sound bar, bass, 2 #3 be set up to get the best sound system for movies and does the same set up work for music?

Hi there, I have a pair of Focal 714v that I used with my old amp to watch movies but my amp fail. I bought a new Sonos  amp. I saw that you can make a surround sound system with the Arc and 2 Era 300 or 2 front channels with the Amp and 2 Era 300 for the surround. But the Sonos Arc with the Era 300 can use Atmos to create an spatial sound. My question is, can I add a Era as a center or have both my speaker and a Arc at the same time to have the Atmos sound. Any other suggestions is welcome!Thanks you 

New ARC owner here. Installed today (by the retailers installation service). It’s connected to the TV and that seems to be working. I have the Sonos app on my iPhone13 and have run through the setup (many times) and it fails to register. The app recognises the ARC, is connected (in “About My System”) and it is added to my “Family Room” but shows as “Not Registered”. I’ve reset the router, have both the ARC and the iPhone on the 2.4GHz side of the wifi. The ARC shows up as a connected device in the router admin. I’ve tried it with an ethernet cable. I’ve reset the app several times, done the factory reset on the ARC several times. Nothing I do seems to be able to get me past the register stage. My account on the Sonos website shows no registered products in my System.  It feels like there’s nothing working at the other end for the app to communicate with.  Any ideas?  Thanks.    Chris.

I am using a Soundbar + Sub + 02 Sonos 01's as Surround. Any suggestions how I can add 02 Sonos 5's as Speaker Fronts to this setup?What do you guys think.

Hellou, I have an older Phillips TV and even that there is an HDMI Arc on the TV, there is no audio playing from my Beam, so my question is following. When I use Xiaomi Mi TV box and connect it to a HDMI splitter to split the signal to two, one for the TV and one for Sonos Beam.Will it work? Will it recognize also the Dolby Atmos? Thank youKarol

I’m very disappointed with the Era 300 as surround setup. I’ve just upgraded my theatre from Arc+Sub+2 Ones to 2 Era 300s and it’s underperforming due to central driver not firing in Era 300s. I’m going back to 2 Ones as surrounds as they provided a much better sound experience.  I bought both Era 300s at a local distributor’s store. I can easily return the speaker bought today, but I also want to return the one I bought several months ago, as I had bought it with the intention to upgrade my surrounds and now I found out they do not work as expected when paired together. 

Hi, I would like to know the impact of having 2 pairs of surrounding in front of my arc, see image below:The circles are the in-celling surrounding, the house was pre-wired for a 5.1 sound and since I got 2 sets of speakers,  I decided to connected all 4 speakers to the amp , but I'm curious if the 2 sets in front of the ARC could cause any degradation to sound    

After plugging in a Sonos Beam into the ARC HDMI port with a Samsung Frame (Portrait) TV— the Samsung TV now displays Sonos’ screensaver constantly instead of turning off normally, I’d like to go back to the Samsung Portrait working normally where the display is off until I enter the room and then a static Samsung provided image shows up. How can I disable this screensaver Sonos feature?

I have a Samsung TV with a Beam Gen2The beam will randomly raise in volume to max level ( ridiculously loud) when TV is on or when playing music…. But also hear a pooping sound ( the sound it makes when you physically raise the volume button ) when the TV is off… then when it happens when the TV is off.. I check my Sonos app ( TV still off) and the volume slider button has moved to max volume… when it was previously halfway I have done everything suggested in the forums …unplugged absolute every connection including internet etc.. but I will be lying in my bed at say 5am in the morning .. no TV or anything else on.. and hear the popping sound raising the volume.. PLEASE HELP 🙏 …

Is it possible to setup more than 2 Era 100 Speakers in one room with and Arc soundbar and Sub? I purchased a 3rd and everytime I set it up, I select the correct room and instead of adding it there, it creates another room with the same name and adds a 2 at the end. Am I doing something wrong or can you only have a max of 2 in each room?

I'm deaf in my right ear and can't understand dialogue.I can't hear stereo or surround  sound. Is there anything that will help?

Back in January 2023, I decided to treat myself to a full entertainment system upgrade for my bedroom, replacing my 8 year old TV, PS4, and FireTv Stick with a 2022 LG C2 EVO, PS5, AppleTV 4K, and Sonos Beam gen2 + Mini Sub.At first I was really happy with the Sonos setup from a sound quality perspective particularly with music, but I struggled with getting surround sound to work. No matter how many times I ran Trueplay front audio sounded further away in front of me and rear audio sounded right in front of me. Left to right surround effects are only really noticeably if my face is within 12 inches of the Beam; I used SpiderMan No Way Home on AppleTV 4K (bought and downloaded not streamed) and some other sources recommended on the internet for testing surround sound.After reading countless posts on this board and others I update my TV’s setting to Passthrough Audio, eARC enabled, and HDMI settings to Bitstream. No change in surround quality, but I did see it now says Dolby Atmos in the

I recently bought the Beam Gen 2 with reviews saying that it is enough for smaller rooms. I have it in a “5.1” setup with two IKEA symphonisks and one sub mini … but I have to say the 150€ Logitech 5.1 system I had before delivered a far superior experience. To say I am underwhelmed of this 500 Euro soundbar is an understatement so I feel like I might be doing something wrong.  at least I’m my setup the beam feels like it has ZERO stereo separation. I have truplay tuned it but that didn’t help much … is there anything else I can do or something I have to watch out for with the placements?  If there’s nothing I can do, does the arc perform reasonably better in this regard? With its wider form factor I was wondering whether it maybe is able to offer better channel separation. Thanks in advance!

I have the latest Apple TV 4K and what to have the Dolby Atmos sound through the Sonos Arc. However, the TV only has one eARC port which I’ll use for the Sonos Arc. Does Apple TV 4K need an eARC input on the TV also to pass through?TIA

I have an Arc, two 300s and a Gen3 Sub in my 15 x 15 bedroom with 9’ ceiling.  Is there any way I can get more width from the Arc?  Sorry, I don’t have much technical audio experience, so I hope I’m explaining myself properly.  With other systems I’ve used, I really hear things going from right to left and left to right in the front field.  With the Arc, sounds that should be coming at me from one side to the other, just seem to be coming at me from the center.  Can I widen that field?  It brings to mind my older Pioneer Reference Panel that has side mounted speakers.  The separation I get there really makes you feel like things are going from one side to the other and adds so much dimension to the sound field.

Do the screw holes on the Arc mount match-up with the screw holes in the Playbar mount? Can you mount the Arc in the same location as a previously mounted Playbar without having to drill any new holes in the wall?

I recently purchased a Sonos Beam Gen 2 and LG OLED A2 TV after reading incredible reviews for both. However when I try to connect the tv to the beam via HDMI, I get the message on Sonos app (the tv speakers are not connected). I’ve tried resetting both devices, switching HDMI cords and ports and all the e settings I can think of on my LG TV. The Beam works when I play music from my phone but nothing from the TV, I cannot seem to connect them. Please help!! 

I am moving my 65” Sony panel (arc but no eARC) from my music room to replace a 55” Sony in our Living Room. My wife doesn’t like going downstairs to watch TV, but we both want a larger screen in the LR.I will purchase an Arcana Fury 2 to bypass the Arc output and feed Dolby Atmos, 5.1, 2.0, to my Sonos Arc. AppleTV4 is primary A/V source.I hope someone here could recommend a quality 2.1 switch to run ahead of the Arcana so I can play my Roon Bridge (HDMI out) and my Oppo BDP seamlessly through my Arc system as well as my AppleTV. I know Apple occasionally causes hiccups with outboard connections, yet I want to keep wire count low.Thanks in advanceIMIKE

I am setting up a new media room with three Tv’s and am looking for the best way to set up one ARC bar and surround system that can switch to the 3 Tvs.Any suggestions on the best way to do this? All tv’s will be brand new and the same tv, either LG or Samsung OLED.

I have 2 play 5 (gen1) speakers and 2 symonfisk speakers and a Beam Gen1.Following a network glitch i have reinstalled all devices.However the beam will only connect using an ethernet cable direct to router, although during setup it is asking for wifi details and when i enter them it appears to finish setup although no messages appear to say its ok.as soon as i disconnect the ethernet cable the beam does not appear in app.Any help gratefully received
