am having an “echo” sound coming from my Sonos One speakers that are in surround sound mode with my sound bar. I have them grouped and they have been this way for a long time, Can someone help me, please?!?!

Hello. I have a Sony A80J tv paired with a playbar plus two in ceiling rear speakers powered by a Sonos amp connect. I cannot get 5.1 audio from the native HBO Max app despite the content showing that 5.1 audio is available. I receive 5.1 without a problem with other native apps (Netflix, Apple TV+). I contacted Sony and they said there are no known compatibility issues and that I should be getting 5.1, particularly if I’m getting it on the other apps. We went through a series of troubleshooting efforts to no avail — even tried a factory reset.  Has anyone else experienced a similar issue, if so, any known remedies? My only remaining option is to swap the optical audio cable though I suspect this won’t work since I haven’t had a problem getting 5.1 from the other apps, though it’s about the only thing I haven’t tried. Any other suggestions? (Aside from getting an Arc) 

Hi all, I’ve been super into the sonos ecosystem and I’ve been getting my dad into the space. He just bought the sonos arc and I have a few questions about integrating it into his older 5.1 Sony system.  old systemsony Av receiver2 mounted (passive) rear surrounds connected to receiverMounted left right and center (passive) speakers that the arc should be able to replacean active Sony subwooferhowever looking through this forum it seems like our optimal setup of keeping the existing rear surrounds and subwoofer is not very feasible. Do we need to buy an amp to make this setup work? Is there something else that people recommend because I’m sure others have been in this situation. We are really interested in Dolby atmos and haven’t really experienced it before. Would we lose out on atmos keeping aspects of the old surround system? Would the subwoofer be able to connect to the arc or do we need to buy a sonos one? Should we just try to replace the rear surrounds with play 1s? Thanks for a

I am wanting to setup my surround sound with two Amps, one for front and one for rear. I also have a third party sub that I was hoping to use with the Amps. My questions are:Is this possible? Right now I have it setup, but the sub is not working. If so, does the sub have to be connected to the Amp driving the front channel speakers? Right now, my sub is wired where the rear amp is, not where the front is located.

I currently have the Sonos Arc hooked up to my TV and I would like to add two additional Sonos One SL to have surround sound system. I do also have Sonos Amp present in the house for outdoor speakers, but that’s not related to the TV room set up I am trying to accomplish. When clicking on the Arc within the Sonos app and pressing surround sound, the only option that comes up is to pair it to the Amp.  How do I just connect the two Sonos One SL which I current have paired to gather to the Arc to play the TV? I have also created a group but that only works for music and still more manual that I thought it should be. I play music, it first plays on the two that are paired and then I press the group I created and all three speakers play together.  

Hello, I have my 5.1 setup as follows, ARC via HDMI to EARC output on TV using passthrough in TV settings & 1 Gen 2 sub and 2 Play’s one’s in my system.   Am I getting full Atmos using the Play 1’s since they are so old or should I get the newer One’s or One SL’s? 

Recently bought and setup a Sonos Beam with 2 Sonos Ones as surround and overall the whole system sounds pretty good.When listening it is obvious that the Ones (the surrounds) are only playing the surround channel audio.Since apparently the Ones have equal if not better low frequency responce than the Beam, I wonder if there is an option in software (or plans to include one) to share the lowest (non-directional) frequencies to the Ones as well, for improved bass (please don’t suggest to buy a Sub, it’s an overkill for my system).

Still getting sound dropouts that last a few seconds on most platforms now!!BBC iplayer, Netflix, Disney etc and even standard TV!!I have a Beam 2 with 2 One SL’s for surround and a new Panasonic OLED, tried all the mentioned  plug/unplug, restart PCM etc.Always had Sonos kit but this is really starting to get annoying as no fix seems to be mentioned yet??Please help!

I just installed a Beam (Gen 2) and I can not get my Xfinity XR15 remote to connect to it.  In fact; I can not get ANY remote (total of 9) in my house to work with the Beam.I’ve tried moving the Beam to different locations and making sure there is no light hitting the IR sensor.  I’ve tried re-pairing to my TV and while I can get sound thru the Beam I can not get my remote to control it.  I’ve tried standing right in front about 3 ft away with every remote in my house and going through the setup process but none of them are working.  Obviously, I’ve made sure the batteries were all good on the remotes too.I can control the sound with the app on my phone but that is pretty inconvenient. I replaced a PlayBar that was working with my TV and remote with the Beam but at this point I’m about to pack up the Beam and send it back unless someone has a suggestion.

Hi all , my new TV that I've bought has an eArc hdmi socket , would I benefit connecting my beam gen 2 to the eArc or just the normal arc ? I only have Sky+ hd , many thanks 

Just bought a Beam Gen 1.  Connected it though the Arc HDMI port as the tv recognizes it.  The tV speaker doesn't emit sound anymore as it's using the Beam. No sound through the Beam.  The Beam plays music though through the Sonos and Spotify apps.   When I do the true play test it works and chimes.  What am I doing wrong?

Hi folks,Thought I would post some observations I had between the Arc and Playbase in case it would be of help to anyone. Obviously these are my own opinions, others may differ I bought the Playbase a few years ago, about 6 months before it was discontinued. That didn’t feel too great, but it’s still a nice piece of kit and looks great so I stuck with it.I’ve always had a gen2 sub and 2xPlay1s connected to the PB. At various times I have thought it was lacking somewhat in terms of presenting a “full” soundstage from the front of the room. The sub and surrounds do mask that a bit; if I turned off the sub/surrounds in the app (not unpaired) the PB sounded underwhelming. It had been Truplayed at this stage. So I eventually decided it was time for the Arc, and isn’t it a nice piece of kit!I’ve been trying all sorts of side by side comparisons but the first, with the Arc and PB unpaired from any subs/surrounds, the results were surprising. Hi allI’ve recently purchased a Sonos Arc + Sub (Gen 3) and am new to the community here.The Arc is connected via eARC my Sony Bravia A80j and my Apple TV is connected to the Enhanced HDMI port.My TV is set with Audio Passthrough to AutoWhen I play content on my Apple TV that is labelled Atmos my Sonos app shows Dolby Atmos is being played on the bar - Perfect. This is the same for the Native Android TV apps.My confusion comes when I play non Atmos content like 5.1Using the native Android TV apps (Netflix & Disney+) the Sonos app indicates the Arc is playing Dolby Digital Plus 5.1Using the Apple TV apps the Sonos app shows the Arc is playing Multichannel PCM 5.1Can anyone out there please advise the difference and which is the best format. Thanks so much in advance for your responses.

I have a cheap Walmart TCL Roku TV.  I can control volume and turn tv OFF through the Sonos.But I can’t turn the TV on or operate the tv menu etc.The Beam blocks the TV IR.I should in theory be able to control everything through the BEAM correct?  It’s weird that I can turn the TV off but not otherwise control the TV (other than the volume)

I have 2 Sonos setups consisting of:Location 1Playbase Move Play 1 (3)Location 2Playbase Roam Play 1 (2) Play 3I am losing my hearing and the volume level I require to watch TV is not comfortable for my wife.  Is there a way to connect headphones to my TV/Playbase and be able to independently control the volume in the headphones from the Playbase?  Thank you.

I hooked up my cable box by HDMI into Onkyo NR 585 receiver, then HDMI into my TV. From my TV I hooked up my  ARC Sonos Beam/Ones through ARC connection.  I have speakers hooked up directly from my receiver and Sonos speakers out of the TV arc. Sound has a delay from the sonos speakers vs. receiver speakers. Any suggestions on how they can be synced together for sound without the delay???? Thanks! 

TV: 2020 model Samsung UE50TU8500UXXU Just spent the morning on support calls to both Sonos and Samsung trying to get the Arc to connect with the telly through eARC. I think we might finally have made some progress.In short, the problem was that the TV wasn’t seeing the Arc so it didn’t appear in the list of sound output options. Instead, all I could choose from was ‘TV speakers’, ‘Optical’ or ‘Bluetooth speakers’. I should’ve had the option to choose ‘Receiver (HDMI-eARC)’ too.My first call to Samsung didn’t go well (I had to explain what a Sonos Arc was) and ended up no further on. The person referred the issue to a product expert who basically said ‘There’s a compatibility issue between the Arc and some Samsung TVs’. Like, tell me something I don’t know.Their advice was to call Sonos and see what they had to say. Yes, I'm afraid it's the old chestnut again.I've just upgraded from 1st gen. I had no problems as I was taking the audio out from sky Q into a toslink switcher via the optical adapter .I upgraded mainly for Atmos, so don't want to involve optical any more, so I'm taking HDMI from the Samsung Tv's eArc output to the Beam .As usual TV apps are no problem, but now I seem to have introduced the audio lag for Sky Q, which no end of adjustment will alleviate. Is it still a case of putting up with "normal" sound setting from Sky these days? I'm starting to think I shouldn't have bothered with the upgrade..

FolksLooking for some assistance. I’ve connected my Sonos Arc to the ARC HDMI setting on my TV.  As I understand it, my TV is able to send Dolby Digital+ (which should allow Atmos for the programmes that are streamed in Atmos) but no matter what I seem to try, I only ever achieve 5.1 per the Sonos App. This is even the case when I am absolutely certain that I’ve set the Sky Q to Dolby Digital+ and am playing a suitable programme. It’s also the case on Amazon Video (I’ve played Jack Ryan, for example). Can anyone help or advise of anything I am doing wrong? It’s driving me crazy!

Hi all , just got a new TV and I have a beam gen 2 and 2 One SL surround speakers with sky+ hd , my TV has an eArc setting in the sound menu , if I select this everything is fine but Sonos app shows different formats that it's playing , shown in the pics , which format is better to use Dolby digital plus or Dolby multi channel pcm 2.0 was itv 5.1 sky movies ? I’m using an Arc with a projector, and an HDFury to get audio. 95% of the time it works but occasionally, when I turn on the projector, TV audio isn’t detected.Is there any way, either on the Arc or the HDFury, to force audio back to TV? The only thing I’ve found that works is flicking off the power to the plug strip that powers *all* of my AV kit, as I can’t get to the individual plugs. In doing so, games consoles in rest mode get powered off, which they don’t like. It would be nice to be able to do this manually.

So when I select Dolby atmos Xbox series X I get a louder sound than native tv apps. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing

Hello,I have a TV (The Frame - Samsung) and a Video-projector.They are connected to a video amp (onkyo 609).(Multiplie sources like PC, PS5, etc.. are connected to this amp).I'm thinking of replacing my 5.1 speaker system with several Sonos speakers (Beam + Sonos One SL + Sub).Questions:Can I send the sound from my Onkyo amp, to the beam, through the S/PDIF jack? And then, is it the BEAM that synchronizes the Sub and the One SL? I've read everywhere, but I'm having trouble understanding how to send sound from the amp to the sonos ecosystem ! thanks  

I have the Sonos Beam currently connected to my TV via eARC for PS5, Netflix, movies etc. I am switching out my TV next month for the LG C1, and as this is a top gaming TV, I will also use it for PC gaming at 4K upto 120hz.For my PC to detect my Sonos as 5.1, I need a new sound card that will encode and decode 5.1 Dolby Digital. Then I will plug in the beam via optical to my PC, using the HDMI to Optical adapter. However this means unplugging the HDMI from Beam -> TV.If I buy a HDMI Switch, then have one HDMI cable to the TV, plug the HDMI to Optical adapter in the other slot, with an Optical cable to my PC, will this allow me have the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound for my PC gaming while also controlling the volume with my TV remote?

Any plans to add true 7.1 setup capabilities to the beam or arc?I would love to be able to add 2 more speakers as Front Left and Front Right Sourrounds turning the beam into a center speaker 🔊 Would be great if we see this coming in 2022
