Hello!I just purchased a sonos arc and a sub and want to connect that to a benq Ht3550 projector. Was hoping to use the eARC from the projector to the sonos arc but the benq does not have eARC. My question is, can i use a AVR and then connect my device (Amazon Fire Cube) to the AVR and have the video go to my projector and audio through eARC and then be connected to the Sonos? This sounds simple but i have also heard people talk about the HDFury. My question is what is it that the HDFury can do which an AVR wont do? So confused!!

Ok, so i’m out of my depth here, which is mainly why I bought a sonos product  . I have read a lot of the post on the forums here now and I cant seem to find what I am looking for. So my setup at the minute is TV with ARC into sonos beam and all my inputs into the TV, works great I get 5.1 surround with my symfonisk ikea rears. It only gets tricky for movie night, I have a projector (VANKYO) with HDMI in and I would like to get the 5.1 to the beam. As its only once a week with the kids currently I unplug my firestick and plug it directly into the projector and get sound through an Amazon Echo studio. Its frustrating I have an awesome surround sound system sat there when watching as I cant quite work out how to get it all to work/what switch/matrix to get.

can the arc be mounted on a MantelMount pull down TV mount? I have a Playbar mounted currently and works great. I am wondering if the Arc will work on a pull down mount?

HiI’m moving into a new flat that has Virgin Media fibre that will be using the Virginmedia 360 Box. I have read a post online (not here) that they had a problem with audio synching and their Beam, that was different for each TV channel so couldn’t be sorted by adjusting the audio delay. The suggested fix in the replies was to turn off Dolby which obviously loses quality and isn’t great.Has anyone else had any problems? Or better still is anyone else using their Beam with a Virgin Media 360 Box with no audio problems?I’ve got a Beam and x2 Sonos One SL’sThanksTom

I just bought a 2020 Samsung Frame and Sonos Arc and I wanted to test the Dolby Atmos feature but when I tried the only app I could get to output Dolby Atmos as shown in the Sonos app was Amazon Prime Video. I’m using the built in apps on the Frame TV. When I play Netflix content that should be Atmos is says Dolby Multichannel PCM 2.0. I have the premium Netflix subscriptions and it says Atmos under the title in Netflix but only Dolby Multichannel PCM 2.0 in the Sonos app. When I play from Disney Plus I get Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1 at least, and I get Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 when playing Apple TV+. I understand their might be some issues with Disney and Apple, but at the very least Netflix should be outputting Atmos. I’ve also read about all the issues with eArc and audio cutting out with the Samsung Frame, fortunately I haven’t had any of those issues, just the issue of it not outputting Atmos when it should be. Hopefully I’m just missing something simple.

Hi thereEquipmentLG55CX + PS5 + Arc home theater setup (arc + sub + 2 x One SL) PS5 is connected direct to TV via HDMI 2.1 Arc connected to TV via eARC connection using HDMI supplied in box Other devices connected direct to TV via 2.0 HDMI splitterIssueWhen watching normal TV (SkyQ) or using another product, such as a Nintendo Switch, the connection between the devices and the sound output is absolutely fine. No issues. Likewise, there is no issue with Netlifx, NOWTV or Prime services via the TV apps. When you switch the input to PS5, I would say there is a 50/50 chance that the TV/Arc will not handshake properly and there will be no sound output. If you switch back to another HDMI input sound returns immediately. When you switch back to PS5 there is still no sound. If you turn off eARC on TV settings the sound returns, but that is not a fix in my opinion.I am satisfied that the TV/PS5 is setup correctly to pass through bitstream following the recent updates, albeit the app still shows s

Why Sonos discontinued the PlayBase? I think the PlayBase was and still is one of the best design from Sonos, the form factor of the design was great to blend in with your home furniture and also easy to hide. The sound of the PlayBase is amazing and the bass that is coming out of that flat block plate is great  much more that I was expecting the first time I heard it, I actually was impressed. For me the design still one of the best, because it doesn’t look like a bar in front of your TV. I just don’t understand why Sonos just continue with the design and improving his capabilities with Dolby Atmos technology and so on. I hope Sonos use this design again in the future with improvements for Dolby Atmos and HiRes for music.

Hello,I’m researching getting an ARC and have come across a similar question, but one that went cold and was from an Apple TV user, which I am not. The 900F has received a firmware update since it’s release that allows its HDMI 2.0b h/w to allow for eARC throughput and therefore should allow bandwidth for the likes of Dolby ATMOS. EDIT: Argh, looks as though I misread the update notes path for this 900F model, perhaps there’s no hope of eARC for this model… Well, last 2 questions stand, perhaps it’s a worthy soundbar sans ATMOS (i.e. optical)…? Has anyone with this combination tested it thoroughly and have results they can share here?Further, anyone with this combo passing another HDMI in on this TV through to the ARC with success…?Thanks in advance,b

I got a Beam last week which sounded great after coming from a 5.1 blu ray player set up, and I added two Play:1 speakers to the set up yesterday and all I can say is Wow.Can anyone recommend any songs or movies that really show case the set up?

Hello, Before buying sonos beam i read that can be connected to fire TV.Now i have it and I have set up everything, Alexa and fire TV app on Alexa and added Beam to it. I can control with voice but I cannot pair the sonos as a speaker. When trying to pair the speaker from Alexa app I only see the Alexa Echo dot. Audio from echo dot works, but I don't understand why I cannot send the audio to Beam. Do you have a solution? Only with arc can be connected? This would suck, because I have a projector and it can be complicated and ugly to bring a cable all over the ceiling.  Thanks Mattia

Subwoofer 2 years and one month old .. then just died for no reason ..sonos said it’s out of warranty so basically it’s £600 down the plug hole any one else have the same issue

I’ve been using a Sonos Arc with a Sub and surrounds since July 20 connected to an LG 77” CX and the system has worked flawlessly. However, this morning when turning on the TV there was no sound. I restarted the TV, swapped the Arc HDMI cable but still no sound. I then took the power chord out of the Arc for 10 mins, plugged it back in again and the problem was resolved. However, a couple of hours later when turning on the TV, no sound from the Arc. All other Sonos devices in the house are working perfectly but not the Arc. I’ve rebooted the router but to no avail. Having worked flawlessly since July I’m now thinking the Arc may have now developed a fault as I haven’t a clue why this problem has suddenly manifested itself. Any helpful comments would be much appreciated, thank you.

Projectors in Home Theater are becoming very popular for those with enough wall space or retractable screen. Often questions appear in this community on how to best connect the following Sonos components: Playbar (Optical) Playbase (Optical) Beam (HDMI-ARC/Optical hybrid) Sonos Amp using 3rd party or Sonos Architectural Speakers by Sonance (HDMI-ARC/Optical hybrid) I’ve only come across one projector that claims to support HDMI-ARC; that being the BenQ W2700. Since I don’t own a BenQ W2700 I can’t vouch for its HDMI-ARC operational validity.  Digital-out (Optical) on a projector is typically not in the traditional output format as one might find on a TV.  Additionally, projectors are limited to one; maybe two AV sources. Households today (to name a few) may have one or more of the following AV sources: Cable Box Xbox PlayStation AppleTV Amazon Fire TV Stick Chromecast The good news is that all the above AV sources use HDMI as the primary output connection. TV’s with multiple HDMI por

Good Afternoon,I have Sonos Playbar, Sub, and 2 Sonos one’s as my rear channel speaker in my family room.  I have a optical connecting my TV to my playbar.  I am wondering if I can purchase an optical splitter and run an additional optical down to my NAD amp to power my 2 KEF bookshelf speakers with my Sonos system.Any help with this is appreciated!

I've just bought a Beam v and my TV has the choice of sending out Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus (I know the beam won't do plus) On either setting the Sonos app is reporting Dolby DigItal 5:1 from the TV. My question is should I choose to output Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus on the TV? Or will it make no difference? Thanks

We purchased a Sonos Arc to connect to an Asus laptop. The plan is to project the pictures through a projector and play the sound through the Arc. When I connected them with an HDMI cable it didn’t work. I googled it and the problem seems to be that I need an HDMI Arc output (which the laptop doesn’t have). I phoned Sonos and they suggested that I should post the problem on here to see if anyone has found a solution. An option could be to get an HDMI to HDMI ARC adaptor but I’m not sure if this would work. Another option could be to return the Arc and replace it with a different product. Ideally we want something that can be wall mounted next to the projector rather than an amp and speakers.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Al

So I have a Sonos Amp plugged into my LG CX and whenever I wake the system up with my Apple TV 4K i notice that the volume buttons on my ATV4K remote don’t change the volume on my Amp. If I go to the settings on my ATV4K and change them from IR back to HDMI control the Amp will light up green and recognize it. I have TV auto play set to on. Anyone know why the Amp would have trouble? It worked fine with my Beam every time.

I tried to use my remote to change the volume level, but the remote volume control no longer works at the distance from my chair (10 ft).  If I move about 3 ft from the playbar, it works.  I changed the batteries twice, but still can not adjust the volume or mute unless I'm about 3 ft from the playbar.  Nothing changed (room, furniture. equipment etc).  The light on the playbar only flashes when I'm at a close range.  The TV (Samsung Smart TV) does show an icon when I press the volume control, but the playbar does not.  I then re-ran the remote control setup.  During the process  I needed to be close to the playbar in order for the app to recognize the buttons being pressed.  After running the remote setup, I still needed to be close to the playbar and could not use the remote from my chair. Please help.

Hey all, my Arc was delivered this morning and I've had a chance to hook it up to my LG C9 directly via eARC and ran a few tests regarding Atmos and other features. Built in apps: Netflix - Reporting Dolby Atmos (DD+) for Atmos content. Disney+ - Reporting Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 (though this is likely due to the current throttling taking place in the EU) Amazon Prime - Reporting Dolby Atmos (DD+) for Atmos content. Xbox One: HDMI Audio set to Bitstream out and Bistream Format set to Dolby Atmos has no delay, finally! Displays Dolby Atmos in Sonos app. PS4: Like with the Xbox, there's no delay on Bitstream HDMI audio NVidia Shield Pro: Netflix - Reporting Dolby Atmos (DD+) for Atmos content. Amazon Prime - Reporting Dolby Atmos (DD+) for Atmos content. Disney+ - Reporting Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 (though this is likely due to the current throttling taking place in the EU). After connecting up to a US VPN it's reporting Dolby Atmos (DD+) for Atmos con

I wanted to revist my Sonos Amp setup vs my Sonos Arc setup, and give you guys a few thoughts. I posted a few days ago comparing some initial thoughts vs the Beam, Playbar and Amp, and I had a few more thoughts on the Amp vs Arc specifically.   Setup 1: Sonos Amp Rel Sub BW 685 Speakers Sonos Play:1 left and right Connected via Optical Adapter (HDMI Arc makes the Rel Sub hum)   Setup 2: Sonos Arc Sonos Sub Play One left and Right   A few quick notes on some questions people may have:   1.) Is the Arc worth it over the Beam and Playbar? I think it is, especially considering it will be around for years. It has noticeable improvements vs both. Beam Vs Playbar depends on your room size, but Arc vs everything else is more clear for me because the Arc has in general a better sound, sound stage, and atmos.   2.) Do you need to add a Sub or rear speakers? a.) If you have to choose, I'd add the rear speakers first, they will get you more of a surround sound experience in movi

My Bean has been experiences intermittent drops in audio ever since upgrading to the S2 app. I have troubleshooted this several different ways.  - Moved a One immediately next to it connected to same WiFi (both on static IP) on same power socket. One continuous to play fine without problems while the beam is cutting out intermittently. - Power cycled both the beam and the router to try to fix. - All on the latest firmware. - Both using Airplay to play to it without grouping on Sonos APP still doesn’t solve it. Grouping on Sonos App and playing through the app is the same problem.- Playing just through the Beam still cutting out.  At this point I’m out of ideas of how to fix or troubleshoot. It was working fine with no problems until I updated to the S2 app. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Sonos beam and an an Philips ambilight TV. Recently, despite TV being off a few seconds of sound comes out of the beam. This is also now happening when I play Sonos radio or Apple Music from the Sonos app through the beam

Hi all, recently purchased a Sub to pair with a playbase and x2 play1s. EQ needed for movies is very different to music. Its a real pain having to change Sub levels, surround speaker volume and EQ settings for each use.Any work around for this?I don’t see why this wouldn’t be apart of existng app..

Does the Beam require an ethernet connection so that it can connect to a Sonos Amplifier for surround sound?  I am attempting to connect the 2 and it is telling me that the Beam needs an ethernet connect.  I had a guy from Geek Squad here and they told me it was not required.   Thanks,   Pete

Dear all, I bought Sonos arc and 2 sl one speakers. I am not sure that I’m getting Dolby atmos, which is the main reason I wanted the system. I was reading all those reviews describing how planes are flying on top of your head and that you can hear sound in the air in the middle of living room. I have nothing of that. I have a few drops of rain and other occasional sounds coming from my rear speakers but apart from that I wouldn’t tell the difference between my TV speaker and Sonos system. I have Netflix Ultra HD and LG webOS TV UH603VI think the reason is TV is not supporting Dolby Atmos. Please find att photo where it shows the TV output where Sonos Arc is connected. It says Optical Digital Audio OUT. Is it Dolby atmos output or not? Also on other photo in Sonos System Info AUDIO IN is Dolby digital 5.0 is it Dolby atmos?I would appreciate any help, advise and suggestions 🙏🙏🙏
