can the arc be mounted on a MantelMount pull down TV mount? I have a Playbar mounted currently and works great. I am wondering if the Arc will work on a pull down mount?

Hi @kmg59, welcome to the community.

I’ve taken a look at MantelMount’s website but I can’t find a definitive answer whether Arc would be compatible or not. I’d recommend reaching out to MantelMount directly to be 100% sure, or perhaps someone from this community has that setup and can chime in.

Thanks James for the reply. My question was from the Arc sound features perspective. I am reading it needs to be wall mounted or  on a table in order to realize the full sound benefits from the Arc (something about a magnetic sensor in the Arc). Is that accurate? can I get same sound benefits if mounted on a full motion TV mount?

The magnetic sensor only comes into effect when wall mounted on a mount that has one (such as the one we sell on the Sonos store). This lets the Arc know that it’s wall mounted and can adjust its internal sound processor accordingly. If the mount doesn’t have a magnet, the Arc will assume that it’s in table-top mode and not make those adjustments. It’s not required to have such a magnet and the Arc won’t sound wrong or bad if mounted without one in most spaces. If you have an iOS device you can always run Trueplay Tuning which would compensate for the differences in the space, though if you’re frequently swivelling the TV & Arc I’d be curious as to how much that would actually help. At the end of the day, it’s all going to boil down to personal preference. Try it out if you have the kit already and see if it sounds good to you, since that’s all that really matters

I have my arc mounted below my down and out mount (they later became mantel mount) with no issues.

Thanks,

Ben

Yes, I recently contacted support asking about the best mount for a 77” TV and Sonos Arc. They said the MM700 would be the best bet.
