Setup:TV: Samsung UN60H7150 -- Doesn’t support DD passthrough, and app support is old enough that I don’t use.Sonos: Playbar, Sub, (2) :1 rearsInput: FireTV through an HDMI switch w/ an integral optical splitter. Also a PS4 connected to switch. The FireTV actually has a version of Netflix that outputs Dolby Digital, not +. I’d like to upgrade to something less clunky than Fire TV, I frankly don’t like the Amazon interface, and lately the device seems to be restarting on its own multiple times a day. But it seems everything out there only supports Netflix in DD+. Is there anything else out there that can output DolbyDigital Netflix, without requiring either a new TV or an Arc??

Recently purchased Sonos arc/sub/2 one SLs paired with samsung QN85Q60T. Dolby atmos reflects for Netflix movie (El Camino) & Prime (Jack Ryan). However, all other shows/movies do not display Dolby atmos? Further, movies on Disney +, Apple TV, HBO max (justice league) which supposedly supports DA, Sonos app only displays Dolby 5.1?!  anyone experiencing the same? Is it related to Samsung TVs?

I have a Sonos Beam with [2] Play:1’s connected to a Toshiba Fire TV, with the Beam connected through the HDMI/ARC input.  Any time the TV is turned off/ it does not start up with the Beam as the audio output - it always defaults to the TV’s internal speakers.  The CEC is turned on, PCM is turned on.  No other HDMI inputs.  DO I need to unplug everything any time I want the Beam to be the audio output???  All firmware is updated for TV and Beam..  Autoplay is on and obviously not working.

I absolutely love my current Beam + 2 Play-1 surround setup, and have gotten proficient with the available EQ, TruePlay, Speech Enhancement options. My only issue has been when watching live television musical performances where the singer(s)' vocals are far less clear and muddled with higher musical instrument and crowd cheering sounds. I recall during the Grammys and the lile tinkering with the TV EQ bass/treble volume levels on-the-fly and the speech enhancement option but this approach is very inconvenient and wasn't ideal. It kind of ruined an otherwise pleasant surround sound TV experience. Am I doing something wrong? Could this be a new feature for live tv musical performance vocal enhancement?I also have two One SLs in other rooms. Should I switch out the Play-1s for the SLs?

I have a TCL TV with roku built in and I used it with my Sonos beam with two One SL speakers as a 5.0 set-up. I connect the TV to beam through HDMI-ARC. I realize I can only receive surrounding TV audio when the output is dolby digital (e.g., the Dolby roku app), but not dolby digital plus (e.g., all other apps including netflix, hulu, disneyplus, etc.). How should I correctly set up my speakers or TV?

Replaced Playbar with Sonos Arc Connecting:ATV4K + Xbox + ATT Osprey + Nintendo Switch To Roofull HDMI Switch To HDFury Arcana To HDMI port on Samsung One Connect box To 2016 Samsung JU7100  and the Arcana e-arc output to the Sonos Arc + 2 Play1 surrounds + Sonos Sub   Controlling with Logitech Harmony companion remote, switches everything on / off perfectly so far. Well worth it  the sound is amazing and definitely noticeable better than Playbar.  The Atmos content is immersive  If you have an older TV and external devices that support Atmos this setup works well.  A few more cables than before, but no need to mess with any Arc from the TV  as all the devices are external.Ps: The Arcana has a loose USB-C connector, HDfury  responsive and they are working on an RMA.

Hi All,I have an ARC, sub and rear SL’s. I previously had a Samsung Q90r. Don’t get me wrong the Samsung had many flaws but its ATMOS sound was very immersive. I don’t really get that from the ARCs ATMOS its a bit half hearted. I think Sonos should of released some rear upfiring speakers if its really wants to compete in the ATMOS soundbar market with the likes of the LG SN11 and the Samsung Q90r etc. In all other aspects I love my ARC but the ATMOS needs some more ooph to it.@Sonos if you can put this request forward. Thank you

So, got my LG CX, 65”. Currently the problem is that I have 2 sonos ONE speakers, enjoying them for the last 3 years, and was looking forward to buy SONOS arc for ultimate TV experience (not getting the sub atm). The problem however is the placement. I don’t have that much space. Wall mount is not an option. Any suggestions ? Based on the pictures and my calculations I know I can move back the TV to the wall to fit the Arc on the shelf, however, I might need to put “something” in the same shape for LG CX65” under so it “lifts up” so to speak. By lifting up I mean see all of the screen as ARC will block (9CM tall) the tv view.Anybody has / had similar issue? What kind of solution that would be? Thanks in advance!

We have been building some higher end homes and find the clients want larger and larger TV’s but when mounting these TV’s over a fire place, book shelf or other obstacle it leaves very little room for a sound bar. Has anybody else thought of taking a sound bar and having it come apart in two pieces that could be mounted on each side of the TV vertically or horizontally, this would provide room for the TV to be  mounted lower giving a better viewing angle yet keeping the center audio projection at the TV.

I am trying to install a Sonos Arc right above my motorized projector screen. Please see digram. There is a hanging decorative box in the middle of my middle room which is ideal to install an in-ceiling flushed motorized projector screen,  ~16 feet throw distance to the projector.  This room also has vaulted ceiling.  I am planning on using HDFury Arcana to split the 4K+Atmos from Apple TV 4k and send audio to Sonos Arc and 4k Video to projector. Since there is nothing in the middle of the room (no walls) to install the sound bar, the only place I can think of is above the screen , right at the edge (see digram).  Atmos requires upward angled speakers to drive sound with an angle to the ceiling so they can reflect back to the listening position and create the feeling of fully emerged sound. In order to get the front facing speakers in Arc to point to the sitting position, I have to tilt down the arc about 28 degrees. This means the already angled speakers on top of Arc will be pointing

By now everyone has heard about the HDfury Arcana: eARC Adapter that is now available for pre-order.  It’s touted to relieve lip-sync issues associated with the Sonos Arc among other things. Read about the proposed benefits of the HDfury Arcana: eArc Adapter here. This information is not intended to deter anyone from ordering the Arcana (I’m contemplating ordering it for testing).  However, my expectations are not that it will be a “cure-all” for every situation regarding Sonos. Below are two things regarding the HDfury Arcana: eARC Adapter you should know: The Arcana may negate Alexa/Google voice assistance between your TV and the Arc (as well as the Beam). Things such as on/off, volume and input switching via voice. Note: The Stretch Goal for the Arcana claims it may not  The Arcana will not bring Dolby Atmos to the Beam; although it may improve DD5.1 interoperability with some sources and reduce lip-sync issues While the above may seem obvious...experience here in the community h

I received my ARC today and my immediate impression is that it is a major step backward from the sound quality of the BEAM.  Anyone swapped out the BEAM for an ARC and achieve positive results?  Same iPhone 12 phone used for Trulpay tuning of both setups.  Anyone regretted not returning their ARC within the 45 day window?   I really want to love this thing but it doesn’t sound as good as it’s little brother IMO.

One thing that i do not get is. With the amp you can use exciting speakers to make a 4.1 setup. But even just with the general setup of aps. I do not get why they have not implemented the ability to add a physical center channel  either via a new amp which has a dedicated center channel or as par of the app just like you add a sorround you should be able to add a center which could be something like (Play:3, sonos beam, play 5 and more i am sure)

Hi all,I’m new to Sonos and have recently bought the surround package with the Arc, One SLs and Sub v3. I’m enjoying it however becoming frustrated as the entire system disconnects on a weekly basis. Following the usual switch it all off, leave it for a bit and switch it back on does work,  it a week later, it’s disconnected again.  I don’t have issues with any other of my contraptions disconnecting from the WiFi, only the Sonos kit.  Any help is appreciated.

5.1 Playbar Sub 2xPlay3 S2 Nvidia Shield 2019When watching Stereo PCM via Nvidia Shield (IPTV, Tidal, Netflix etc) I get Stereo Upmix on my surround speakers (Play3s), but when watching SOME STREAMS on Twitch (also stereo PCM via Shield) I don't get no Sound on my Play3s. Some other Twitch Streams (also Stereo PCM) play the sound as expected on the Play3s. What is Twitch doing different about Stereo? Thanks!

Hi guys. I have a Sonos Beam and I'm planning to purchase either the Sony XH90 (X900H in USA) 75'' or a LG CX 65''.My worry is that the Sonos Beam used to give me sound lag with my PS4 and my old Panasonic Viera, which I solved with a switch that allowed me to connect the PS4 via optical and the TV via HDMI. However, this won't be a solution anymore, as I sold my PS4 and I'm hoping to receive my PS5 this week, which does not have an optical out.I think I've read somewhere that with the LG CX this is not a problem as there's some "passthrough" option which solves this issue. Does anyone have a PS4/5, the Beam and the Sony TV who can comment of any sound lags issues and solutions? Thanks a lot.

Hello all, I’ve been looking through many different threads and trying to compile information, could someone please reply if this is correct, as I suspect at least some of this is not accurate.  Note this assumes a TV equipped with eARC or something approximating (e.g. HDFury Arcana):Audio Input Xbox Setting Sonos output Locals source/Blu-ray w/Dolby Atmos TrueHD Streaming source w/Dolby Atmos (Netflix) Game w/Dolby Atmos Bitstream → Dolby Atmos Dolby Atmos (lossless for local sources) Local source/Blu-ray/game with DTS-HD Bistream → Dolby Digital Plus Multichannel 5.1 (lossy due to format conversion) Local source/Blu-ray/game with DTS Bistream → Dolby Digital Plus Multichannel 5.1 Local source with DD+/DD 5.1 Streaming source with DD+/DD 5.1 (Netflix, Amazon) Games with DD+/DD 5.1 Bitstream → Dolby Digital Plus Multichannel 5.1* Local source with DD+/DD 5.1 Streaming source with DD+/DD 5.1 (Netflix, Amazon) Games with DD+/DD

Sony is offering a new subscription-based streaming service “Bravia Core” with the purchase of its new 2021 Sony XL tvs providing access to its titles in up to 4k HDR quality.  I like the fact the emphasis is on getting the best video quality possible (“streaming at up to 80 Mbps, delivering lossless 4K UHD”).  And for a limited time (promotion ends February 23, 2022), it will be free when you purchase one of the eligible tvs.https://www.sony.com/electronics/bravia-coreHere’s the wrinkle: It features an IMAX® Enhanced collection, which will be optimized for BRAVIA XR, and will deliver the remastered IMAX® picture and immersive sound in DTS.DTS is also noted as the sound format used for the service in the following article:https://www.tomsguide.com/news/sony-bravia-core-what-you-need-to-know-about-sonys-new-streaming-serviceSigh.  It will never end, will it? 😂

I have a Beam, 2 Play1 wireless speakers, sub for my SONOS system. My TV is a Sony X940E Bravia and my 4K player is a Sony UBP X700. I’ve just discovered that unless I turn my audio output on my TV to PCM, most of my 4K discs will not play sound. Unfortunately playing PCM on my SONOS Beam is underwhelming. Streaming Netflix in Dolby 5.1 sounds better. I’m wondering if I have any options. Would it be better to purchase a different 4K player or dump SONOS since this has to do with their refusal to obtain DTS licenses. Is there a converter of some sort I can get? Thanks!

I've been living with lip sync issues (audio behind the video) since I got my Playbar about a year ago but I finally decided to do something about it. After multiple conversations with Sonos support and the LG's support people (they kept blaming each other for the audio delay), I decided to email Sonos' CEO about the issue. After a few hours, I got a reply back from him, CCing a team manager who was going to look into the issue. We scheduled a call and he had me send various diagnostics to him. He said that the engineering team was going to investigate and get back to me. A week later, I got an update. He told that they are still working on the issue. He also said that only one other person had reported the same issue (I assume that means that only one other person with an LG TV). So, if you're having audio delay issues and you've tried all other troubleshooting, reach out to Sonos support and have them look into it. If it helps you might mention my reference number, which has already

Hi there, I have Arc + Sub + two One SL as surround in my living. All devices are in the same group called living. This works well for watching TV. What I wanted to do is to create a second group with only the two One SL + the Sub to be used when listening music in a normal 2.1 mode.  Is this something doable and if yes how? Many thanks in advance.C.

I know this isn't the first discussion about this, but I'm hoping I can get some fresh ideas. Ever since I purchased Arc I've had vocals pan to the left. TruePlay on/off and about a million placement/angle/seating changes to try and balance this out, to no avail. I know the center portion of the Arc has a tweeter on the left-center position instead of dead center. Is this the issue and as such can't be fixed? I assume this isn't a big issue if you sit far away but I sit around 7.2ft from Arc, can't move back or want to. I will mention that I have two walls in close proximity to the Arc. The left side speaker has a wall to bounce off about 1m closer than the right side. I remember from Beam that could make a difference. I am thinking of getting an extra fridge (regardless) which can act as a reflection surface on the right side, evening things out. Could this fix the entire issue or is it just the weird center tweeter location?  is anyone suffering from the same thing? Maybe has a tip h

My Sonos Beam connected to Samsung Q80T tv disconnects on average once every 20 minutes. When this happens it reverts back to TV speakers. It will either reconnect again after a few minutes or I have to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI.I spent an hour on the phone speaking to tech support and sent a number of diagnostic reports immediatly after it happened, but none of the suggestions worked. Has anyone else had this issue? I am wondering if the speaker could be deffective.

I know there’s threads of this but it’s blowing me away how any blu rays I buy have DTS audio and the Sonos Arc system doesn’t support it, it’s really mind blowing honestly.  There are so many people complaining of this here and elsewhere so obviously it’s not like it’s a minor inconvenience.  Is there not any possible way this could be added in the future Sonos?   Come on, do it.
