I know there’s threads of this but it’s blowing me away how any blu rays I buy have DTS audio and the Sonos Arc system doesn’t support it, it’s really mind blowing honestly.  There are so many people complaining of this here and elsewhere so obviously it’s not like it’s a minor inconvenience.  Is there not any possible way this could be added in the future Sonos?   Come on, do it.

YEAH!!! SONOS! DO IT!!! I would even pay a fee if you need me to!

It’s the only thing that is missing and then it’s perfect!

When Sonos fixes the PCM 7.1 to 5.1 down mix problem, will you still need DTS support?

Since adding DTS support might also fix the problem where my UB820 UHD player will only play stereo even with the LPCM update, then yes I’d like to see it added in case it does fix it.

*edit - also holy cow you are on top of this site, I was actually surprised you weren’t my first reply as I see you every thread I’ve looked in lol

With the changes Sonos made to PCM the few DTS based tracks I have sound much better on my Playbase. The surround encoded downmix option on my 420 didn't seem to do much. Now DTS-X tracks sound great and DTS-HD tracks just need the volume on the surrounds bumped up a little for good 5.0 surround.

DTS-HD and DTS:X sound great on my system. I don’t have the LPCM 7.1 to LPCM 5.1 down-mix  problems some folks are experiencing. The only real benefit DTS support will offer me is the full object oriented, Atmos-like effects of DTS:X. But when I play DTS:X discs, my Arc receives LPCM 7.1, it down-mixes correctly on my 5.1.2 system and sounds great. While DTS support would be a nice feature, it’s not something I feel I need to enjoy my discs at this point.

Funny enough I’ve been playing dtshd blu rays via my Xbox series x and I’m getting Dolby Atmos showing up my Sonos app,  All I’ve had done was to select my Xbox to do the decoding..

Generalzod - That’s fantastic to have the option for the Xbox Series X to decode DTS into Atmos. It’s gotta be one of the few new 4k Blu-Ray players currently on the market that even allows that...I do not game at all, so it just didn't seem like the best choice for me when I was deciding on a 4k Blu-Ray player.

Yes please, it’s one of the main things holding me back from buying an Arc right now.

The Blu-ray player I own (UB450) supposedly has issues with DTS → LPCM content.

There is a PCM 7.1 to 5.1 down mixing issue with the Arc (that Sonos is working on correcting) but overall the DTS to PCM conversion from a Blu-ray player still sounds great from DTS-encoded Blu-ray or UHD discs.

Not sure if that will help or not - hopefully it will! But I believe the issue is with Panasonic UB450/UB820’s that causes PCM to be output as Stereo on the Arc (all this is based off Googling to check if what I own is compatible, I don’t own an Arc)

@maxwood This issue is with those Panasonic players connected to LG TVs. I have the UB820 connected to the HDFury Arcana (because I have an older Panasonic TV) and I get multichannel PCM audio from all of my DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS:X encoded Blu-ray discs.

And I’m sure LG blame Panasonic and Panasonic blame LG :)

I guess you don’t know if either are working on a solution?

@maxwood Here is a thread about the LG/Panasonic DTS to PCM issue. It doesn’t seem like either are working on a fix:
