I have a Gen 1 Beam.  It won't play as the system tells me it is incompatible.   It is still in great condition but I can't get it to register in my system settings.  How do I fix?

Just purchased a Sonos Arc, I am going to slowly switch all my audio to Sonos.Current setup in my theater room is a projector (Panasonic PT-AE8000), and the receiver (Yamaha RX-V677). I have a PS5, Roku, NES Switch, and obviously the projector running through this receiver.I have been reading and looking up info online for the past few days and cant get a solid answer on a solid setup to get the Dolby Atmos sound I want with the Sonos.Will a HD Fury resolve my issues and I can keep the old equipment? If so where do I place that unit at? Or can I get a receiver that has dual HDMI outputs, one for the projector and one for the Sonos Arc? Thank you all for your time.

Hey all -  I FINALLY got ATMOS working correctly with my new Sonos-based home theater setup using an Xbox Series X and a newly purchased Samsung QN90A series television (85”). It took me days to get it synced right and get rid of an audio delay in the whole setup, especially with dialog. Here’s how to pull it off. The important part is that you have to configure things to let the ATMOS/surround sound signal go straight to the ARC for decoding instead of the TV trying to help along the way (causing audio delays and other issues). Home Theater Setup: Xbox Series X → QN90A TV via HDMI 4 (the only HDMI 2.1 port on the TV)HDMI 3 → Sonos ARC (the only port on the TV that supports eARC)(Not that I’m using two PLAY:1’s as surrounds and a SUB as well) Samsung QN90A settings:eARC set to auto Audio set to Pass-through IMPORTANT (NOT auto or PCM) AT

Our home theatre group is comprised of an ARC SL with ARC  connection to an LG OLED, a Sub Gen 3, and two Play 1s as surrounds.  Other groups elsewhere in the house are comprised of several One SLs and one first gen Symfonisk. There is a Boost wired to the Verizon Fios router. The problem is, if the HT group is not playing while other groups are, turning on the HT stops playback in the other groups on network. It’s annoying…Any way to fix this?

Just a (maybe dumb) question regarding ATMOS, 5 and 7.1.   So if I’m watching a source that isn’t available or playing in Atmos, like (Dolby pure HD, or DTS), will the ARC and 300’s still play the upward firing drivers?

Hello forum. New SONOS user here. Also new to HDMI ARC. Sorry if dumb question.I have: TV (w/HDMI ARC), Xbox, non-SONOS passive speakers.Can I buy a Sonos AMP, connect it to TV HDMI ARC, connect Xbox to TV HDMI (different input), connect speakers to Sonos Amp, and still get sound out from the Xbox to the passive (non TV) speakers? Not sure how HDMI ARC works. Thanks...

My setup includes:Sonos Beam gen2 BenQ TH534Playstation 4Laptop connected to Benq via HDMI to watch movies. Hello community.I am totally new person in the community. My wife bought me a fast Christmas Gift:) I would like to know how to correctly connect my components to generate sound from my Sonos Beam gen2.  At this point, I just want to connect and receive sound from my new soundbar. Later I will buy additional speakers. Please let me know if there’s a workaround that I have missed so far. I have a Sononos Playbar. I am thinking of getting Mini Sub. Is it compatable with playbar or I have only one option of getting Sub Gen3?

Hello All,i bought a new tv (hisense 58 a7gq, see specs below), a beam gen 2 , 2 era 100 and a sub mini.the problem is the sound when I use the Apple TV 4K : it’s really bad.the same movie played with the TV gives a beautiful sound (but a quite less Sharp image though)is there a way to fix this issue ?  Does it have something to do with the settings ? Hello,As already mentioned in these topics:I would like to know if it is planned to allow the Beam to be used as a center speaker. I know that it plays three channels, but a configuration switch to play only the center channel would be great.The goal is to use some other speakers for the left and right channels. Why ? Because I already have some nice speakers and I would like to combine them with the Beam.If such a configuration is possible, I will buy a Sonos Amp to connect my speakers as left and right channels. Will 1 roam and 1 era 100 connected to my ray create a surround sound?

Hello, I have the S1 controller to operate my older Sonos setup (playbar, 2 x play 1 as surrounds) with a Bridge and Connect (for my vinyl record player).  I want to add the new Gen 3 Subwoofer however when I try and upgrade to the S2 app, it says that the sub will not work with the connect/bridge I have.  Is there a workaround or is this not going to affect my system at all.  I have an ecobee and use Alexa to play throughout the house and want to make sure I’m not wasting 1000.00 on a sub that won’t work well Thanks and happy listening!!

We recently added a Samsung Frame TV. It sits on a large to the ceiling cabinet in a central part of the room. The TV was selected partly because it sits so flat against the dark cabinet and is hardly noticed when not in use.Mounting the arc below the TV would be awkward. It could be bumped into at hip height. It just would not look good. Would require possible any extra hole drilled in the expensive cabinetry. So maybe we can not have one.But on idea came up. Could an Arc be positioned near the ceiling, as in right at the ceiling?If so should it be angled down?Should it be mounted upside down?There is a second reason to use an arc beyond sound. We have 2 Sonos 1’s for the rear. Right now I have to use an Apple TV connected to the frame TV to talk to the Sonos 1’s. So we are using an Apple TV connected to a brand new smart TV which seems like an absurd extra layer of complexity. The Arc would remove that problem. If there is another way to connect

Hi All. It’s a relief that Sonos has identified the bug that’s causing the bass distortion in Sonos Arc. Thank you @Ryan S for working with the Sonos Communty to identify the problem quickly. Having said this, I believe that Sonos still needs more work to make the Arc sound as it was advertised. Currently, multiple people on Reddit including myself are reporting the highs being too high which sort of feels “harsh”. This improve the speech clarity and brings out details in the movies, but the warmth in speech is lost because the voices sound thin and metallic (for eg. actors I know having heavy voices don’t sound heavy). I was expecting the mid-range to be a lot better considering the Arc has 8 woofers.  I have tried TruPlaying twice without success (Turning TruPlay off produces muffled sound). Adjusting the treble also did not help much. Loudness turned on and off does not make a big difference either. May be, this

Bought new amp to connect tv to the good speakers that are already in place. The amp plays Apple Music etc through the speakers but the TV will not play the sound through the speakers. I have tried both HDMI ARC and tried optical output the the adapter. 

I have a sonos arc. I also have a KEF KC62 sub (wired) and would like to pair them. Any help how can I bridge the two together? I know there is a device to make the KEF KC62 wireless, then i can bridge the two so i can control from the sonos app. please list the item(s) i would need and how ? thanks

How do we convince Sonos to allow for two sub minis to be paired together on a home theater system. The sub mini fits better in all cases in my  space. The sub mini has an amazing design and looks great. Really want to add another!

There is a significant difference in volume when switching from TV to music on my soundbar, ones, sub 5.1 system. Comfortable listening on the TV becomes way to loud when switching over to music. Have to remember to turn down the volume when switching over. Is there any way to adjust this so the volume is the same for both.

ik have a beam gen 1 and  2 Symfonisk lamp gen 1 for surround.  now i upgrade tot symfonisk gen 2 and is not working? compatibel problem?

Hello All!  I am looking for the best possible audio settings based on my Samsung QN90B, Apple TV 4k 3rd Gen and my Sonos Beam Gen 1. I am using the HDMI to connect the Beam to my TV.  What setting should I select under my Apple TV Audio Format? Change Format > Off OR On with Dolby Digital 5.1 as the new format?    Samsung TV settings - if I select change format on within the Apple TV settings, I get three options under the Samsung TV digital output audio format: PCM, Auto or Pass-Through. if I leave change format off within the Apple TV settings, I only get Auto or PCM.   Overall, what do you think would be the best settings recommendation for my set up? Note that when I select Dolby digital 5.1 with an Apple TV I feel like I’m getting some lip sync issue. Is that normal?  Thank you in advance for the help! 

I am having three problems with the Arc SL shadow; 1) a loose HDMI port on back of the soundbar that will lose connection if i touch or move soundbar even slightly  2) random sound drop while streaming content  and 3) poor reception to control volume from Firestick remote.   Anyone else with similar experiences?

Yesterday when I turned on the TV, there was a loud pop from either the Arc or the Sub.  This morning, after the TV was on for about 30 min, the left surround popped in the same way.  I grabbed a diagnostic as quick as I could after the pop, but not sure why this started all of the sudden.  Update went through two days ago to 14.0.4Diagnostic is 1674648960

Hi All,I am writing to discuss an issue I have encountered while attempting to enjoy Dolby Atmos movies and gaming with my recently purchased Era 300 speakers. Whenever I select the Dolby Atmos home theatre option on my Xbox Series X, I experience a significant popping noise, and the sound cuts off approximately every hour or two.To provide some context, I have ensured that the Passthrough setting is enabled and Earc is activated. Additionally, I own an LG C2 television. Considering that it has been three years since the release of the Xbox Series X, I would like to inquire if any progress has been made in resolving this issue.In the event that I am unable to utilize Dolby Atmos, I am curious which mode would be recommended as an alternative.
