Hi. I have a Playbase that was working fine for awhile. However, the past several weeks, I've been trying to figure out where a vibrating/rattling effect was coming from, particularly with certain types of dialogue. I discovered that the vibration stops when I lift the TV off of the Playbase. It is difficult for me to reposition it very much, because the footprint of the TV stand takes up much of the surface of the Playbase, although there is a little bit of wiggle room (maybe an inch or two, front-to-back). Does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps a way to "cushion" it or something? Thanks!

I made a decision to buy a sonos beam, but if i read the futher details i see that the beam onl works with the apple tv gen 4 ?? So is there anybody wo can tell me if the generation 2 apple tv also works?

I am moving into my new house in a few weeks and I am buying the TCL 65' 6 Series that just came out and I want to get a Soundbar for it in my living room since I don't want wires running all over. Guy at work recommended it so I went to BestBuy to listen to it and it sounded awesome with the Subwoofer. I have a few questions though. My room is 14X10 rectangle shape with tv and couch on furthest walls. I am assuming this will be enough? I want it to be loud and crisp. I typically just watch tv and listen to music from ITunes and occasional movies. ITS Roku tv so I will be streaming YouTube Tv for my cable needs and Netflix from the Roku tv as well. Will I have any issues with Dolby or DTS or any of that stuff? Thought I read somewhere here that if you run a show with DTS you wont any sound from speakers??? any help for a newbie would be appreciated. thanks

Hi. I am running a playbar and a sub, and obvisouly I cant get true 5.1 sound, but I was wondering if they receive a 5.1 input does it do some processing of the sound to try and emulate 5.1, or will it sound exactly the same as if it receives a stereo input? Reason I ask is the sound quality is noticibly best when I watch netflix in 4k (and I can see that sonos is receiving a 5.1 signal), but maybe this is just because it is 4k? When I used my Humax PVR or Xbox it only receives a stereo signal as it's passed through the TV and out to playbar, so never receives a 5.1 signal - but as I'm only using a playbar and sub would it sound any different it I could get it to output in 5.1? Hi I’m just about to buy a Sonos Beam but I’m concerned that my TV won’t pass DD through the ARC hdmi port. Does any body know if it will or not the model number of my tv is Panasonic TX-L50B6B. Thanks

Does anyone have experience using playbase as computer speakers? I have a desk that is perfectly sized for one, it's my little office-corner with my MacBook Pro laptop. Does anyone have experience placing a laptop workstation on top of one? Does it vibrate at all? Does it heat up or suffer much from heat? Is it weird to get the sound from underneath the computer instead of the sides?

Here is my setup. Playbar optically connected to XBR75X900F and controlled with comcast x1 hdmi to TV. I'm having issues controlling the volume of the playbar. I have the TV speakers turned off and the sound comes out fine through the playbar. My issue is that even though the TV speakers are turned off, when i press the remote volume up/down, there are numbers that show on the TV screen indicating the volume number and sound increases/decreases on the playbar. THis part is fine. If i hold the volume up for maybe 1 second from sound completely off, the TV volume indicator might show volume 5 but the playbar will be very loud. If I tap the volume down button very quick, i am able to get the playbar to slightly decrease volume and also get the TV volume indicator on the screen to decrease. However, i can get the tv volume indicator to ZERO and there is still some sound coming out of the playbar. So it appears that pressing the remote volume up/down gets recognized by

Hi guys, If i am watching a 5.1(netflix default audio option) show/movie through the beam ONLY - what audio channels will the beam pass? Will the rear surround channels be lost? Or does it somehow convert it to L,R and Center channels only automatically. Secondly, if i manually change the the audio setting every time to stereo, will i only be utilising the L & R speakers within the beam. Thanks in advance

Hi Sono’s Community I just bought a house and will be setting up a home theater in the basement. I already have the surround set up of Play Bar, two play 1’s and subwoofer from my condo and love it . I have always been a cable subscriber but was looking into getting Directv. Any issues with Directv /Sono’s combination as far as Dolby Digital and achieving 5.1 surround sound? I have had no issues with Spectrum Cable but there are some really great deals going on with Directv right now. Thanks Dave

Just set up beam sub and two ones for sourround. No sound from the sourrounds... how do i fix this?

Having had my Beam for just a few days I must say that I am delighted with the sound. The main reason I replaced it was for the inclusion of Alexa in the lounge, enabling voice commands for music & tv, but the sound quality is much better than the old LG sound bar that it replaced despite being half the size and minus the sub! I now wish to enhance things a bit more ( I am truly hooked! ) by installing a couple of satellite speakers and providing a bit of 'fill-in' sound to a rather large lounge. So my question is do I go for Plays or Ones? Will Alexa still work from all speakers easily or will I have to shout at the Beam? I have had issues in the past with Echo devices not working correctly when paired.

Hello, I was wondering if its possible to setup the Sonos beam (with airplay2) with an apple tv (4th gen) so that the apple tv will use the beam as the default device. I really don't want to go to the bluetooth setting and connect the beam everytime I turn on my apple tv. regards, zimon

I have a sonos beam in my living room and two play 1s hooked up to it. But, I can’t figure out how to adjust the volume of the two plays1s separately from the beam. Every time I adjust the volume is turns up the beam as wel, I just want to turn up the volume for the play 1s separately. I have read that tapping the volume bar allows you to control separate speakers but this doesn’t work for me. Can someone please help? Thanks.

Remotes not working with Playbar

So as the title says, I am looking to get my Sonos 5.1 setup with (playbar, sub and two play:1 speakers to work with my LG c7 65" oled tv, and with my Xbox One X. Right now the optic cable from the playbar is plugged into the TV, instead of the Xbox One X, is that right? if not, please let me know how I make this work together :) best regards

Hello, I want to use a Sonos beam with my Samsung QM49F monitor. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have neither arc nor optical out. I only have hdmi and displayport in and "audio out". Is this monitor possible to use with a beam? Can I use a splitter maybe? Best regards Mattias

Is it possible to link any other third party sub woofers to a beam at all??

My subwoofer has recently started making what can best be described as a rattling/popping sound randomly throughout playback. The fact that this is a recent development makes me concerned that this is some type of physical defect as opposed to any type of software issue. If it cannot be fixed via some type of software update, what is the policy as far as repair/replacement?

I have my PlayBar mounted on the wall below my TV and I am trying to eliminate seeing the IR blaster wire by using the TOP IR sensor.  Is the top IR sensor disabled on the play bar? It will not accept any codes from an IR blaster or a remote control, Just the IR receiver facing me when looking at the bar will except codes.  

Just received and connected my new beam. Sounds great! I'm sure I read that after syncing your TV remote to the beam that your TV remote would still work with tv menus etc by using IR sensor in the Beam. The beam stands slightly higher than my Sony bravia tv and therefore blocks the ir sensor so I can't control tv menus just volume via Beam. Looks like I'm going to have to raise height of tv so ir receiver can see the controller... Unless I'm missing something with the beam setup?

Hi, I have a playbar, sub and 2 play 1's Currently I have my PC connected to my TV over HDMI and then the TV connects to the playbar over Optical - because of this Windows only let's me select "stereo" for the sound output format because Windows does not see the soundbar, it only sees the TV as a stereo sound system using it's EDID data during the HDMI handshake process I want to change this to Dolby Digital 5.1 so that I can get surround sound through the Sonos system How exactly do I go about getting this done? I know there are several options, but the two main ones seem to be getting some sort of HDMI to Optical switching tool which confuses the PC into thinking it's a 5.1 audio system OR another option I've found is getting a sound card which supports Dolby Digital Live encoding - that would allow me to connect the sound card to the playbar over optical and force all audio output into DD 5.1 format Has anyone done the above, which is easier/better and are there an

Hi, I have a Sonos Beam connected to my TV, since I already have two Bang Olufsen BeoPlay S3 that I think have good enough sound I would like to use them as the surround speakers. My S3 speakers can be connected with cable to each others to create stereo sound. Would it be possible to connect them to a Sonos product and then get them to work as the surround speakers?

Not sure if anyone had this problem before. I did a search and didn't find anything similar. My Playbar connect to my TV using optical cable. It also connects to my router that thus goes to the Internet. Was working fine for last 2 years. Suddenly a few days ago, it stop making sound. A few observations. the side light is white. The network ports lights are also solid (instead of the usual flashing seen on PCs) I powered it down by unplugging it. And then powering back on. White light solid on the side. No sound. Network port's lights also solid. Can't connect to the Playbar by the app. (all internet is working fine) Tried power down. Then holding the mute button while puting power on for factory reset. Held for a minute. No luck. Solid white light, no sound, network ports in solid light.. I tried another factory reset method by power down. Then power on holding the mute button AND the "volume up" button to try another factory reset. Again No luck. Solid white light, no so

When I set out to build a home theater system, I looked at different brands that offer floorstanding, bookshelf, in-wall, etc. I continued running into a road block where I felt my investment would not be worth anything if I decided to sell. Not the best way to approach a system but spending $500-900 per speaker, I knew that I would not even get 50% of that out of the speaker if I had to sell the system. Already being in the Sonos eco-system throughout the house, I wanted something more than a PlayBase or PlayBar type product so I went out on a limb to do something a little different. I researched different receivers and found one that was feature packed with pre-amp outputs for the surround sound channels. I purchased seven Play 5 units and already own two dedicated powered subs. We will be moving house soon, and I am thinking of upgrading my TV, and possibly having it Wall mounted. I have the Playbase which my TV currently sits on. Am I trying to think how to have a tv wall mounted with a playbase without having wires showing and also will the wire reach that far enough. Does anyone have a playable paired with a wall mounted TV? and if so how have they done it? thanks for your advice
